I reckon you could- we could probably fit three in there... and if we took a rug another two could hide in the back seat...

Hello!
I am a very shy person and not very communicative, but nevertheless I would like to introduce myself at least shortly.
I live in Germany and unfortunately my English isn't very well.
In my homeland Anthony Warlow isn't famous. A few years ago "La Bohème" with David Hobson (who isn't famous here, too) was broadcast on German pay-TV. So I became interested in David Hobson's work. As I bought the wonderful CD "Tenor and Baritone" I heard Anthony Warlow for the first time. In the meantime I bought several of his CDs and DVDs and I'm completely enthusiastic about him.
I would be very thankful if you would send me your newsletters about this outstanding artist.
Please, accept me as a quiet member!
Thank you all so much in advance!
Regards

G'day smp! Not to worry, a lot of our members are shy and there are a number of members who are still learning English, so you're not alone. And all members are automatically added onto the newsletter list the moment I realise someone's registered. Hope you enjoy your time here! ^)_^

Welcome to the forums, smp. Yeah... so college started kicking my you know what and I had to dissappear for about a month... Anywho, I have something to respond to, even though it's old... so bear with it. Hello Zaxus! Welcome! (and belated hi there and hello to poppy... grin!) Zax, your av is awesome. Doom is awesome. Video games in general are awesome. I should know, I write the plots for them. Weeell... I'm studying to do so. But hurrah for games! *is pleasantly smug to be playing Phantom Hourglass...* Hey, I'm flattered you like my avatar, especially since I drew it myself. Well... minus the actual word, DooM... but I mean, I started to draw that. The "D" is actually my drawing, and you can kind of tell it's different... but seriously, drawing circuit boards is freaking HARD! I would have kept going, but I felt like my brain was going to die of boredom. I want to simplify that drawing sometime and get it on a patch... so I can put it on things... Doom is awesome, yes. I only wish I could have played the original System Shock games and more of the Wing Commander series. My favorite game company is Origin Systems, by the way. Every game Origin made was fantastic and groundbreaking. It's a real shame EA had to buy them out, strangle them for 4 or 5 years, and then dissolve them. That's one of the reasons I HATE Electronic Arts. ... This is going to turn into a long, rambling post about nothing really in the spirit of these forums, so I'm just going to cut myself off early before it gets out of hand.

^ I have to say... I like Insomniac and Square-Enix. Born and bred on RPG, baby! ^_^ Joking. Though I love role-playing games, I have to say that Dirge of Cerberus was an awesome first-person shooter *slaps forehead for descending into gamespeak*
Oh dear Zax, don't think that Ant can't be dragging into gaming! Heck, during last semester's game blog, I dragged him in several times, mainly because I was discussing his emotive voice (potential voice actor?), doing a Phantom game (definitely a voice actor) and music in games (recording studio, anyone? XD).
But the artistry is very cool, I like it! ^_^

^ Origin made a bunch of RPGs, too. Probably their most well known RPGs were the Ultima series... which most people have probably heard of, at least in passing. Most of their games were PC based in the DOS era of gaming... Which was my favorite era of gaming, because games were constantly "fresh," with new ideas and techniques, and the gameplay was more important than making the game look fancy. What good is a beautiful game if the gameplay is crap?
To me, gameplay is more important than the video, audio, or even the story of a game. A good story does loads to help a game, though... but a game with a fantastic story with bad gameplay isn't usually good (it's not entirely bad, either, but you can get bored at times). Look at some RPGs, for instance. RPGs are made for a person wanting to play through a story, and usually have a very basic gameplay system. That doesn't necessarily mean I think RPG gameplay sucks or a hate RPGs (I like them... but It's more fun if there's a merging of RPG elements with other types of games), but I have to admit that an RPG can do well with gameplay that is far less advanced than most other types of games.
... Origin was freakin' groundbreaking, though. They were one of those companies that did something, and then everyone else scrambled to try to copy them, because nobody had done anything even remotely like that before.
Go look up Origin Systems on Wikipedia if you're interested... especially look at some of the notable people that worked for it, and poke around in some of the games it mentions, especially System Shock, Ultima, Wing Commander, and Crusader. That is, if you're interested, of course. System shock was particularly impressive for its time. Compare it to Doom 2, which was release only a couple of months earlier, and you can see how impressive.

^ Oh! Ultima! NOW I know who they are! *slaps forehead* this is where years of being buried in Final Fantasy gets you. I think... Wing Commander was a predecessor for another really famous game, but damn if I can remember what it was called... As far as gameplay is concerned, I agree. Even with a good story, some games are just rubbish. Though I think ET takes the biscuit! XD

I don't really think the Wing Commander saga was a predecessor for any other games other than more Wing Commander games... At least, nothing has been set in the same universe... excluding the Crusader series, which is at the same time in the Wing Commander universe (albeit, about 200 years earlier) and in the System Shock universe. But regardless, I haven't really seen any sequels not created by Origin that were in the same universe.
Starlancer and Freelancer are probably the closest games in spirit to Wing Commander (no small part due to the fact that the founder of the company who made it was also the original creator of the Wing Commander series...). However, they were not... well recieved because they both came out at the time when public interest in space and flying simulators was greatly decreasing.
That being said, Wing Commander did set a lot of the foundations of the space simulator genre.

A belated hi there and hello to smp! I'm sorry if I ignored your entrance! *facepalm* Zaxus, it was just something my enabling immersion lecturer brought up and I remember Wing Commander from it. That said, she knows I don't pay a lot of attention to her most of the time! XD

*steps up to the mic* Hi all, my name is Heather and I'm from Texas. *waves nervously*
I just recently found out about Anthony via the Jekyll & Hyde soundtrack he did and of course I fell in love with his amazing voice. So I searched for all I could find about him and the more I learned and saw of him the more hooked I became.

Also, a fellow Texan! From my neck of the woods, eh? So... How did you end up discovering this place, anyway... if you wish to tell.

The last time I googled Ant we were on age 5. The IAWFA is at the bottom of page one, there's a bit of a reference to US on the second result of page 2, and now ...
Hey, we're on page 3! We're creeping up!
