Welcome to Unexpected Song, Sas! I hope you enjoy your stay. And, Neh, shamed as I am to admit it.... when Sister saw Pirates, far from becoming an instant Warlovian, she ranted about how she didn't like it because of the imitation of Pirates of the Carribbean. My sister has no taste.

The reason he did that was to draw in the younger generation since PotC had only come out about a year or so before!

Hey, guys, you're preaching to the choir here! I personally love and adore Anthony's rendition of the Pirate King. I know that, it's just that my sister has lamentably bad taste.

Hi there, I've been a member for quite a while (well, more than 'a little while', but anyway...) but haven't got around to posting yet. I've been flat out lately, and have really only had time to do some browsing. But at long last, hello, US!

Hi guys,
I am a long time Warlow fan. Have been ever since I saw him in The Secret Garden when I was 13. I am 28 now and my love has never waned. I have been able to make it to most of the performances he has done since then although I didn't get to see him as The Phantom which has haunted me ever since. I got to meet the man after a performance of Man of La Mancha several years ago and he was absolutely lovely.
Anyway, that is me saying hi.

Hi
Well now my big secret is out I better say hello.
I first saw Anthony in Phantom in Adelaide. During the interval, my husband declared that he was the best Phantom we had seen. I could'nt disagree and he was camparing him to the likes of Michael Crawford and Dave Willetts. I've been a fan ever since.
Well I'm married with two boys. Both are at uni. I love cooking (especially with chocolate) and fly fishing. Oh and Anthony.
I am in the process of converting anyone who will listen into Anthony fans. I even try with people who won't listen. I recently organised for myself and four others from work to travel to Melbourne to see Dr Zhivago. (I had already been to Sydney with my husband).
I am now planning how I can get to see it again.

Depending on when you saw it in Adelaide, we might have passed each other ... Unless you and your husband were the couple I was introduced to before one of the shows ... ? I remember it but can't remember who I was intro'd to, so if it was you, I'm so sorry I didn't recognise you! I'm so glad you got the oppertunity to see Phantom Warlow ((and Dr. Warlow)) and have joined us here at US. I hope we don't scare you away

Ah. Fair enough. I think I was either performing in Orpheus just around the corner from there that night or in the preparations to perform in Orpheus in the next week.

Now I have to frantically remember when I was in Adelaide for Phantom... it was the last week before the final show, whenever that was. I know it was May, but I can't remember the exact date. And, finally, hi mazza! It's nice to have a new member. We've all been rather slow and slack the last year or so, and I'm finally coming back - so it's good that there's still people to talk to! There are a few of us around that were converted by Anthony in Phantom... so you're definitely not alone there! I'd heard of him years ago - my sister is a huge Farnham fan, so I was forced to watch the Main Event a million times - but I wasn't a fan until I went to Sydney and caught Phantom. You're in Adelaide then, or just SA somewhere? And anyone who likes cooking chocolate things is welcome here.

Fair enough! I've only been into the Hills once - about two weeks ago - but it seems lovely up there. We're kind of near the centre, so it's very busy. *sigh*

We're very lucky. We have beautiful views of Mount lofty. We breed sheep and cattle (only in small numbers) and we have some dogs as well as chickens.

Aw, nice! I'm jealous of all your animals... I grew up with tonnes of animals around, and now all we have is a cat and a turtle. I think next year might be a year for getting a dog. How many is 'some dogs'? It's a very vague measurement!

I breed Jack Russell Terriers so it depends how many puppies we have.

The're very entertaining. I love being with the girls when they have puppies. I see everyone is safely delivered. It is a wonderful thing.
Its not quite the same when any of the other animals have young. Although I did deliver a lamb that was stuck that was special.

I used to breed guinea pigs. Lots and lots of baby guinea pigs.... they're cute, but they don't have much personality. There would be a few special ones, then there would be all the rest... Theyd always become special when they were sick though. Which is bad, as mostly a sick guinea pig dies. So I'd put all my energy into trying to save it, I'd get all attached, then it would die. *Sigh*
Um... sorry, that was a bit of a digression.

Hey everyone, I used to visit the foums here under the name 'kiwiphanatic' (or something along those lines) during late 08/early 09, and was around 12-13 at the time...guess I didn't feel that I 'fitted in' and hence became inactive. I think I ended up deleting the account, but if it's still lying around somewhere can someone in power do away with it? To be 100% honest, over the past 2+ years I haven't done much in terms of 'following' Anthony. The other day I was going through my (slowly) growing collection of show programs and other stuff I've acquired from my various outings to the Civic Theatre, and it was then I remembered this place. And now I think some re-education about the talented bloke is in order. So yeah, some stuff about me: -My name is Victoria, I'm 15 years old and live in South Auckland, New Zealand. Currently in my third year of highschool. -I saw Anthony in Phantom of the Opera on October 22, 2008 (hence the 2210 in my username), and since then I've loved theatre, and vowed to one day get involved somehow. -Just under 3 months ago, I found that 'somehow' and I am now my school's resident 'Lighting Guru'. We did West Side Story, and for a bunch of highschool students, it was FANTASTIC. Hoping to do a Diploma in Performance Technology at Unitec once I leave school. -I have the entire Jekyll & Hyde concept recording Ant did on my iPod, and I love it. -I think I like Miss Saigon as an entire musical better than Phantom (famous last words?). The acting and singing in Phantom far surpassed Miss Saigon of course, but I like the Miss Saigon story and music better. Seeing as this is a forum dedicated to Anthony Warlow, I'll shut up now. -I like all kinds of music, except the mass produced teenage-star mainstream bullcrap that is spoon fed to the masses. -I'm a drummer, but I can play guitar and bass too. One day I'd like to broaden the amount of percussion instruments I can play. -The Day of The Jackal is an awesome book. And yeah, I guess thats it.

Welcome back to the forum, Tori! Good to see you following your dreams! How often does your school do shows?

Hey Tori! Welcome back! I was wondering what happened to you. Don't worry about you're old account, we'll get it sorted. Don't be afraid to express your preference of Miss Saigon over Phantom, it's perfectly all right. We don't all have the same tastes So what would Performance Technology see you doing?

We only put on a large scale show bi-annually, because our school also produces a CD. Doing both in one year would be too difficult. I'm lucky cause I get one more prouduction.
Getting the DipPerTech would get me the formal qualifiations that would see me take my skills to Broadway or the West End. Doing lights for Phantom in it's most supreme (by evereyone who didn't see the Aussie/NZ tours standards XD) form is a goal of mine.
Thanks for the Welcome Backs, I'm glad you remember me.

Hello everyone, How nice to find this site. My hubby introduced me to Anthony via a CD he had when we started going out together. There was a recording on the CD of "This Is The Moment" and I was just blown away by the quality of this persons voice and the intepretation of the lyric and music. This recording became "our song" and was what we danced to at our wedding! We both love music and theatre and really are at our happiest when singing away. Albeit not in the realms of Anthony! More importantly, when my hubby went through a very difficult time personally it was listening to his CDs of Anthony and singing along that pulled him through, that brought him out of himself. Anthony gave me my husband back and for that I will be forever grateful. We've been fortunate enough to see Anthony in Opera Australia productions, concert and musical theatre. The highlights for us being seeing him as the Phantom last time it toured Australia and now in "Doctor Zhivago". Simply magic.
