Just thought I'd add my tuppence (since my siggie is a revelation of my fanship of said series...).
There was no need for Jackman's mother to go Hyde on the door. Really. It was opened by a thumbprint scanner. Now, as was established earlier, Hyde and Jackman have different thumbprints. Ergo, his mother and Utterson will, too. So while the mother (Sophia) cannot get out, Ms. Utterson CAN because she has total access. XD
I started Hydesight, my own version of what happened next. So far, I only have episodes one and two. Anyone else think it was awesome that the last episode was called Hyde?
I really like that Hyde wasn't massive, rather just an improved version of Jackman. It's closer to the original story. I think this is probably the best adaptation (screen) for a long time.

I just recently re-watched this (made my friend a fan in the process!) - I LOVE this show(as you could probably gather by my username)! James Nesbitt does such an awesome job - LOVE him as Hyde! I was a little bit thick when I watched it the first time - didn't see a lot of the twists coming - but in my defense, I missed the first 2 movie-length eps! ^ oh yeah about Jackman's mother - of course she can get everywhere when she's Utterson! And I was amused that the last ep was called 'Hyde' too! Cool that you've written your own episodes, Phantomess. Have you got them up somewhere where we can read them?

^ Not yet. I'm still working out the plot kinks, but if you're interested I can send you the plot outline for them. The "follow-on" season introduces a new Hyde (other than Utterson and Billy), who works for the Edict Corporation.

The DVD says "Season 1", which usually implies that there will be more *crosses fingers*

I hope so! Although, they did round out the mini-series quite nicely. My sensible side says 'Season one was brilliant, so they should leave it at that', but my Jekkiephile side says 'BRING IT ON'! . . . . Just as long as James Nesbitt is still in it!

((Save Ant, of course))

^ Of course! Who else could do it? ((Save Ant, of course)) Well, of course! Ooo, just had vivid images of him playing Hyde in the miniseries - now THAT would be awesome! I must dig out my DVDs and have a Jekyll marathon to get it out of my system...what a way to spend an evening... ;D BTW, who have they got to play the next Dr Who?
