THREAD RESTARTED. PLEASE GO TO PAGE 2 FOR BEGINNING. I've been thinking about it for some time but with the news that Roy has seen US it's about time to make the decision. I'm going to make a catagory with boards dedicated to other artists, music, et cetera (("catagories" so far are "General", "Warlow", "Members Only" and "Mar and Mar")). The problem is naming the catagory. So what say you, US? What shall we call it? Feel free to give your input. |

Motherlove. Can only think of one title for new category and it may be not to everyone's taste especially those of you familiar with the understudies, but how about "AND THE REST" ? Frankly, as one who has slept on the footpath outside the theatre in London overnight, for the chance to see Crawford in his last night before Broadway, I KNOW there is no better Phantom than Anthony and as far as I'm concerned NO better singer. I would happily sleep on a bed of nails for the chance to see him (when I've saved up my pennies to come to Australia. *music*

Not a suggestion for a name (sorry) but when I noticed a couple of members here decided to sign up at Roy's forum I got thinking: it would be nice if we could link back to each performer's website too. I know Ana and John have their own -- haven't checked up on anyone else -- and we'd be good little fans if we spread the word.
Maybe we could have a sticky post with all their details in it? List their names alphabetically or something? I suppose this could extend to other, mainstream performers if we really wanted.
Thoughts?

Well that's rather what I had in mind; or sort of. One of the boards in the new catagory will contain a board dedicated to other performers, right? So, what'll happen is we'll have a thread per performer and have linked websites on the very first post of their thread ((if the OP doesn't do it then I, windbelle or neh can)). But like what's happening with Ant's archive, there'll be a sticky in that board with all of the websites of other artists.
With the naming, everyone, remember that the catagory won't just be about other artists; there'll be another board with other types of music, movies, et cetera ...
Or maybe not ... ? *thinks* I'm getting myself confused. Are we having a new catagory with a one-board set-up dedicated to other artists, or are we having a new catagory with a two or more board set-up dedicated to other artists, music, movies, books et cetera? The music, movies, books and et cetera are so far building up in the General board, and I did try a few things in the VIP, but ...
I think the purple is getting to my brain.

I thought it was just a board for other artists with just the one section (like the VIP Lounge). Everything else fits under "General," really.

Well, other artists it is then. "And the Rest" is a bit ... I can't find the right word. Demeaning? Maybe not that harsh, but say if any of those artists take a peek at US and see their dedication thread under "And the Rest" ... If it was me I'd feel like I was being swept under the carpet.
No matter, we'll have a poll eventually. We just need a bundle of names first.

I'm already branded for making "Tuptim's Whipping" scene into "Tuptim's Strip-Tease" due to wardrobe malfunctions during dress rehearsals; lovely as Victor ((our King)) was I don't want to have him saying "Tuptim, you strip very well!" over and over again in my head every time I come here. Sorry, personal anguish. |

How about a name that doesn't imply anything either positive or negative? I quite like Stars, or something equally as ambiguous, like Stage Lights or something...

I like Stars. Not demeaning, yet not overwhelming the Ant focus. In regards to linking to performer's sites, Nadia Komazec has a MySpace, as does most of the chorus. And they're pretty friendly!

And I think someone mentioned that John Bowles and Simon Pryce have Facebook? ((tried looking, couldn't find it; then again I despise Facebook and only keep it to advertise)). So really the links will be official websites, message boards, myspace ((and other such blogs if they have it)) ... and as a last resort, wiki.
