Apart from being an amazing singer and performer, Roy wins at life for drawing a smiley face in my program. So shoot me, novelty items win me over all the time. Everyone, go look at that second YouTube link. He was born to wear armour.

^ Oh, thank-you, nikita. I might just have to get that DVD. And no, he really doesn't know what he's inviting when he says he'd like to see us at the stagedoor although...
...it's a golden opportunity to ask him where the door at the Lyric is! Goodness, someone go post!

I'm going to get it too; just hoping it has subtitles.
You do it! I've made a git of myself already!

Fine then, I will! Even though I asked him about Sarah and everything, I'll still do it for the benefit of this community.
(You didn't make a git out of yourself!)

^ My ideal Raoul would have Steve Barton's voice and John Bowles' looks. John just looks the closest to a Raoul -- sweet, tender and caring with quite a noble profile -- than any other actor and Steve Barton's voice is powerful and rich but not as deep as Lewis', who's a little too low for my personal liking.
Roy understudies Raoul too, something I didn't know until that post he made. It would be interesting to see him in the role. *mentally contrasting his voice with Anthony's*

^ I think we'd want to see his Raoul against Anthony's Phantom. Yes, that was the contrast I was making. Taking a guess here but I don't think Alex quite has the maturity to pull off the Phantom believably. I mean, the first time I heard his Raoul all I could think was it sounded by-the-book and... not lacking in emotion -- he clearly wanted to perform well -- but he just seemed too hung up on getting things right and because he doesn't "own" the role yet I could almost feel him pulling back. At this stage, I think he needs to get more shows as Raoul behind him before thinking about tackling Erik. (I heard that.) I don't think he has, not with two understudies covering for Anthony and the need to build up his chemistry with the rest of the cast first.

I only added that because I knew if I didn't then Sandy or Mar would come around and point it out!
(There's no way I'd want Alex to tackle Ant. Just... no... *brain hurts*)

Yeah, I do. I also realise this is likely the first place he'll look if he drops in again. (I'm sorry for trashing your thread, Roy.) And yes, I know, but Anthoy just reminded me of Anthony's bad spelling in my program. Besides, Rant is funnier.

There are a few parallels between that scene from Robin and the Final Lair in Phantom.
