It's just that this isn't a members only area, and some things would be better discussed elsewhere...
(Unless I'm completely mistaken and there's some other reason, which is possible.)

No, that's pretty much it; can't make everything public public.
...
How about I just make a shout - again - in the LADS thread?
As for Caitlin, I'm not sure. I would like the chance to have someplace to go to change into my purple dress and I think Caitlin would be much more comfortable doing that at home for her own reasons; see, I'll most likely be spending Friday night at her place, and if I went off to the matinee without her she might be put out, and if I go to the matinee and she comes along it's a half hour train ride out to her closes station, followed by a bit of a drive but I can't remember how long that takes ...
So I'm going to have to talk to Caitlin before I can decide.

Just going back to last page's discussion of who is the tallest Phantom- Simon WAS tallest, Alex is significantly taller than Anthony (as Anthony is pretty much my height, and Alex a fair bit taller), then Roy is a slight bit shorter than Anthony, a little shorter than me. Really, Anthony's not that tall.
According to informed sources, its possible that James Skinner will be our new Phantom understudy. He's been a Phantom in the Asian tour second understudy under Simon, so knows what he's doing- and that he's worked with some of our cast before.

Between 5' 10" and 5' 11", but I don't really think I'm that tall- I went to school with alot of girls taller than me, I wasn't even the tallest rower. I'm very tall for a dancer though. Josh is taller than Anthony, pretty much the same height as Alex, at 6' 3".

Alex was fantastic in the last night in Adelaide. I saw John Bowles in Melbourne, and I must say that I prefer Alex in the role. I'm also intruiged about him also playing the Phantom in some shows. I'd love to hear or see that! Does anyone know if there are any clips floating about?

Oh Lordy, there be some lovely pictures on Alex's site. The singlet..... the hair..... the piano... And surely the lad is a tenortone? He could play Sweeney and knock the walls down - tenor he can do beautifully, but tenor he is not. Am i right or am i speaking in moron?

Where are the pics? I read an article somewhere that described Alex as a "high baritone" (?) and I've also read about Anthony being a "light baritone" (?). It all gets very confusing when you have baritones who sing like tenors and tenors who sing like baritones. I assume a man is judged by the lowest notes he can sing, and in POTO I would have thought the role of Phantom is baritone? Yes? No? Sheesh ;D

I *think* Phantom as a role is classified as baritone, but no doubt a high baritone, and the role has certainly had it's share of very famous tenors.... but you're right, it can get more confusing that you would expect. Alex has every inch of a stunning baritone sound, and yet he can easily soar into pretty tenor-hero land.... and Ant the same. Dam them both for their versitility and its subsequent confusion to those who simply judge by ear and not by any concrete musical knowledge (ie. myself)
Alex's photos can be found by clicking on the photo option in the menu along the top of his homepage. His WAAPA days are adorable!

ALW wrote the role of the Phantom for a tenor- however, it can easily be adapted for baritones, or especially talented baritones can sing it as is written.
It was lovely seeing Alex after LADS- and I will forever blush at his "rose between two thorns" statement! Although, whoever had a problem with Alex being more friendly towards some than others- how you acted at Stage Door was incredibly petty. Marred the moment a little.

Ah, found it (Alex's website that is)! How dopey of me ;D
A search finds most theatres have Phantom listed as either baritone or tenor, although one has it listed as "Dark High Baritone/Tenor".
And that description would seem to be a contrast with the description of Ant as a "light" baritone.
I think I can hear the difference between listening to Ant sing songs that are quite low and say that guy in Trial By Jury who sings really, really low (whose name I've forgotten again). Richard someone?
And to my totally untrained ears, Alex sounds like a tenor! But that's only because of the limited number of songs I've heard him sing.

No, Mar, there was a certain someone who made some very snide remarks regarding Alex and Nadia's friendliness towards some whom they are more familiar with.

poor Nadia. there really was no answer she could have given to the question "What do you think of the casting call for Meg in LND?" that wasn't going to get her in trouble with someone XD

If you're talking about my friend Caitlin asking if Alex and Nadia were a couple, she asked because she thought they looked good together.

No- I'm talking about someone making snide comments towards some of us- Son and me in particular- because we are good friends with Nadia and Alex.
And Kl- at least she had the humor to mock it with us. Alex too- "I can see why he'd be a drunk!"

their kids would be gorgeous...but i think Alexs' girlfriend would have the final say there. Am gonna miss seeing him at the stagedoor and thanking me for the chocolate that was already half eaten...(even tho i had only just left it there just before the show).. i swear he's a sugar addict! And for all the hugs he gave me, especially the last one...most unexpected but GOOD!! i think he actually made me blush... He is so generous to give his time and sign things for people and pose for photos.(am still positive i freaked him out in sydney) As i said to him in adelaide and i'll say it now...i wish nothing but the best for him.
