The fact that the contract states that no other cast may record the show in ENGLISH.
I'd be happy with a highlights CD, really; The Broadway highlights CD was what started me on Phantom anyway ((in all it's "whole-show-on-one-track" glory)), and it's at least SOMETHING.
And really, if they did a full cast recording of the Aus cast, ALW'd get so much in royalties. I think the fear is it'll become more popular than MC and SB.

Ohh...for some reason I was under the impression that the contract only referred to full recordings. I thought that was how the Canadian and Broadway highlights recordings managed to slip through. Interesting. I would be happy with a highlights CD too. It's certainly better than nothing. I guess the problem is that ALW is rich enough that the money's not driving him anymore

I did a little digging on this last year' and I thought the Canadian cast recording was released pretty close to the same date as the other originals; 1989. It's just highlights anyway, but I think because it was in this era that it managed to get through ... plus Rebecca took over for Sarah Brightman before the Canadian Cast was formed? And that Colm was the first to actually play the character in preview show of sorts whereas Michael was the first to perform it in the actual show ... I'm not too sure of the facts but I think that's what happened. Ba-boom. STILL, it's a damn shame that other English Phantoms are denied the chance to get their recording down. NEXT DAY EDIT: One from FaceBook! Luke Walker 2126! ^)_^

Thanks poppy! Yesterday when I was fishing for squid on the jetty of Port Victoria ((in the whole week I caught 3.25 squid )) the editor for The River News gave me a buzz. She apologised for taking so long to get back to me ((I hadn't noticed, I was too busy avoiding the jellyfish)) and then she asked me for a few details about the petition. I have to call her at the office when I can ((since I just got back I doubt the office would be open; I'll try calling tomorrow or early Monday)) to let her know when I'm available on Monday ((since found out all day; not working til the weekend. YES)) so she can come on over to my place. She asked if I had any instruments and then said something about "making it look artsy", so not the problem is finding a room to set up to look artsy with my crappy keyboard and my couple of guitars for whatever photos she'll take ... In short: NEWS COVERAGE AT LAST!

Hey jay! Welcome home! Won't actually get to see her until tomorrow morning but at least it'll come out in next week's edition. Mum's vaccuuming the lounge now; I probably would have preferred using my bedroom ((since it's clean and is currently "shrining" my musical theatre / opera / Warlow collection)) ... ... but even with the air con on my room doesn't get any cool air, so it'd be more comfortable to do whatever it is we're doing in the lounge room ((even if it means dragging my keyboard out from the [completely trashed] end room and my two guitars from my room))

Thanks Mar! Good to be back. Did you have a good holiday? Hopefully the coverage helps, and I'm sure which ever room you use will be fine as long as the message gets out there! That sig above might be a repeat... there is another "A. Armstrong" at number 350 so I need to ask if he/she has signed before. EDIT: No repeat, it was his sister

It was good, yes; and I don't have to work until this weekend ((but with the times I've got, I'm going to get slammed T)_T )).
Any of them want to admit a middle initial to seperate the difference?

Its great that the Petition got in the newspaper! And from what I can tell, your description of yourself in the US Newsletter is highly untrue!

Great story Marie-Cris, well done!
While I know we obviously can't convince you otherwise, it is a lovely photo of Anthony and you.
And I'm a complete stranger, from another country, so there is no bias!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I behold myself as ugly. /END *raises eyebrow* Well forgive me for being blunt, but you're a damn idiot. Looking at your photos in the members gallery in some of your dresses, I'd frankly consider you damn near hot enough to give me first degree burns from looking at the images.... And good work getting the article in the paper

I think some of us are getting weary of telling Mar how pretty she is. (Seriously, Mar, there is nothing wrong with you. Sometimes I wonder if you're just fishing for compliments. ) [quote author=jayko board=general thread=29 post=49099 time=1233219484That smilie brings back Auckland memories [/quote] Have you seen the pics on kl's Facebook?
