I just saw the Phantom for the second time on Saturday evening and while I really appreciated Simon Pryce's performance, I rewatched the show specifically for Anthony. The first time I went was for a Wednesday matinee, so I saw Roy. All in all, I'm very glad I've had the opportunity to see two very different Phantoms, but I think I'll deeply regret not having seen Anthony yet.
My question is, in the one week left of the Sydney Phantom run, which is my best bet to get to see Anthony? I'm looking at getting 2 tickets actually, for my sister and I. I don't particularly mind where I sit this time as I'll be there not so much for the show as a whole, than for the star. I hope it isn't too late to get tickets!
Because I've spent a bit to see Phantom twice, this third viewing will definitely cost me. So...would it be a bad idea to get a C/D reserve ticket? How bad is "restricted" viewing?
Also, a silly question: what exactly is the Last Sydney Show? Is that the Saturday evening performance, or the Sunday matinee? Will Anthony perform for the Sunday show?

i think your best bet is the saturday evening show to see Anthony
although we're all hoping he will do the sunday matinee (LSS) as well.

Wait a minute, I thought Saturday was the matinee and Sunday was just the final show at 3pm ...
Or am I just horribly lost?
Either way, Saturday would be most likely, and I don't think he'd miss the LSS for anything, considering he's also done the LMS and the LBS already.

Hello, I haven't posted before and I thought here might be a good place to start... I've been to see the Phantom twice now. I saw Anthony on 9th of August, and I was so completely blown away that I went home and got more tickets. It was a fairly major endeavour as I live 7 hours drive from Sydney, but worth it. So I went again on the 6th September, and Anthony didn't sing! Completely crushing. Simon Pryce did it instead. He's good, but I wish it had been Anthony...

^ Yeah, Simon does have a different spin on things. He's a good Phantom by all standards, just not my favourite when in the company of Anthony and Roy. lapristine: Anthony should be doing all the shows next week but I'd pick a night show to be safe. The closer to the final show the better chance of seeing him, I guess (and the last show is indeed the Sunday matinee). By C/D reserve, you mean in the stalls? They sound like wonderful seats. They're probably "restricted" because they're at extreme ends of the row but from experience, I sat in one of these seats and it was the best performance I've ever seen. I fully recommend you go for it! (By the by, you wouldn't happen to be that lovely girl who Roy sang, "Pristine, Pristine..." to, would you?)

@unwinding_fantasy
Thanks for the advice! I'm now trying my best to find tickets.
Yes, I'm Pristine, Pristine...*Sigh* Roy was amazing as the Phantom and, like you said, offered a stronger interpretation of the role. Actually, after my first viewing of Phantom on that Wednesday matinée, I left and ran into Roy in the foyer again. I spoke to him and found out he's a writer, like myself. He's writing a children's book and I'm quite excited about it as I've just been shortlisted for an award for the Children's Book Council of Australia. Which reminds me. I should share the news with Roy!

Wow, I think I remember your faces, but wow, how nice to meet you all again! SIGH, I just bought 2 frontrow tickets on eBay from a trusted seller AND paid for them, but just now, he refunded me my money and told me he never had the tickets. Well, I'll keep looking.

Oh! More Roy love! The man is by far an excellent Phantom.
