Well ... both. Maybe even beforehand. Unwinding mentioned something about dinner and karaoke ... Probably best to keep an eye on the LSS thread in the General Board, but we're definitely going to film signature hunts during the intermission ((at least I am because I suck at talking to people)). We will need to meet up just before the show, anyway, if we're all in the group booking ((otherwise it'd just be awkward)).

feel free to flame me if this has already been asked (im short on time and havent read through all 4 pages of posts) but if theres a gathering of US members at the LSS, is it going to be in intermission, or after the show? because if its after the show, poor people like me who cant afford to see it again could meet up as well... just a thought. I figured we could all meet up for dinner somewhere, then those who have tickets can move on while the others go sig-hunting or whatever, then post-show we can meet up again and do karaoke.

What do you mean? Sign the petition? Create a message? Get involved in the LSS?

Wow I've missed out on so much since I've started Uni and become engaged with humongous textbooks! Anyway, this DVD project sounds like an awesome idea!...though I don't think I will be able to contribute much, never did enjoy making home videos and the like...Perhaps, as an alternative, I'll be so bold as to submit some sketches, if you're after some other forms of visuals.

For the petition, go to the petition thread. For the LSS, go to the Last Sydney Show thread.
As for this one ...
I understand the thought of putting oneself in front of a camera is sending a wave of nerves to you all, and I apologise. I thought it would be a good idea for people to say hello, wish him well et cetera and say goodbye. It's easier said than done, though; I even tried a mock one and had no idea what to say, despite the guide I posted.
So, now it's time for a discussion; what are we doing? The idea to send him footage of US members gathering signatures is still on, but it looks like the individual hello messages from everyone isn't going very far. We could do a "G'day from Unexpected Song!" shout at the LSS but that means that those not attending won't be in that shout and I don't want to exclude anyone.
I'm going to send out another mass e-mail asking everyone to come here and talk about our options, so for the meantime disregard working out a personal G'day script. Still make promotional and fan dedication videos, sketches, artwork and so forth if you wish to, of course, but let's start discussing the options.

^ Well, you know my feelings about this but for everyone else, I'll repost them here.
Personally, I feel a little odd fangirling to the man -- I prefer to reserve that for fellow fans! -- so because I can't think of anything to verbalise the next best option might be a giant novelty card of some variety. We could have a general, "G'day!" message in the middle, then members can sign around it at the LSS or US Convention, should that take place before Last Perth Show. Anyone who can't make either of these dates can PM Mar a message to write on their behalf.
Just another option if the video turns out to be a no-go.

I'm thinking it's probably better if the personal videos are scrapped.
The thing with the US Convention, I don't know for sure if we'll actually ever get one. Conventions cost a hell of a lot, after all, plus there's the matter of location, and even if we could get one organised I doubt it'd happen before the LPS. So most likely the group that goes to the LPS will be the ones to hand it - whatever we decide on - in.

I would agree with Unwinding.....I feel no need to send a message.., but as an alternative to video, it does seem straightforward to me (unless I'm missing the point), that we've got the right vehicle under our noses - Unexpected Song. Why don't we create a thread that is only for leaving messages for Anthony. They can then also be moderated (to a point), specifically if there are any that are very inappropriate (which I doubt any will be, but nevertheless).
Not sure if you obtained a means of contacting him on the 9th...but you could alert him to the thread's existence - he could check in regularly if he so wished and then if you wanted to, you could copy the messages and have them printed in some other format to hand over on the night? You could add any that you get on the street or at shows also. Seems the simplest solution....again, I may be missing a crucial objective or missing the point.
Push that point right in front of my nose if I am Please!!
Another thing that's been niggling....is there any requirement to gain disclosure sign offs when using other's images on video with intent to use in public? Obviously people do it all the time on you tube, but...if they're signing something and being videoed...they may have a problem with it....? Just a thought...
What do you think?

To the messages, not a bad idea. I can contact him, yes; getting responses is the only problem. We can do the thread thing anyway, but I was just thinking that instead of just showing him promotional footage we should show him something else. With the thread, perhaps we all just post one post and edit when needed? Or maybe not. I don't know. What does everyone else think?
OH!! STROKE!! Why stop at one thread? What we can do, I can create another board strictly for hosting messages to Ant, and everyone that wants to leave one for Ant can create their own thread. If they wish to add another message, they can continue posting in their own thread - uh, keeping to the two-days-in-between rule, of course ...
Am I overstepping?
Speaking of which, I'm not sure how the permission thing works. I suppose we could draw up some sort of secondary signing sheet so that when we film someone signing the petition if they give us permission to use it they can sign the secondary sheet. If not, we just won't use their section. We will of course explain what the footage is for and where it's going.

*pokes at thread* I think this is a sweet idea! I'd love to contribute a piece of artwork to the US G'Day package, if that's alright. :-) I don't really have a lot of good Anthony pics to work from just yet, but once I find some, I'll be armed and ready to put his likeness down on paper! Ohoh, a quick question: Is there going to be a theme to the inclusions? Would it be okay for my contribution to be an art nouveau styled Anthony-as-the-Phantom piece? I love art nouveau! It'd be somewhat like this Phantom piece I did... img80.imageshack.us/img80/8101/potoangelofmusicsmalleg2.jpg

Do you colour as well?

Yeah! I love it too! I love that style too! Very prettiful! I agree it would look even more amazing in colour!
Ohh and an Ant Appreciation Board sounds awesome! Though I don't know whether he'd be able to keep up with all the posts! ; D I've seen the one at the Anthony Warlow Fan Association and thats been signed and has messages from people world wide including you Mar! And I think a few US members too!

Yeah; and I wish I could edit the damn thing, I made a number of errors.
Although the whole of US is an Ant Appreciation Board ... but if we really had an area that concentrates solely on message to Ant ((even if he doesn't reply to them, which will most likely be the case)) at least ONE part of US will be free from 10pm. XD

I thought the idea of a G'Day message was super sweet, but making a documentary of the petition would definitely draw more attention to the energy going into it. And yay for still accepting artwork in addition to the documentary. Huzzah! :-)
Unwinding, and phantasy, thanks so much for your complements! *blushes* I had so much fun working on the line art for that piece. I haven't added colors to it just yet, but I'll be getting on that soon so I can have it printed as a poster. I'm stoked to get cracking on Anthony as Erik, hopefully I'll be able to do him justice!

Larukugrrl, i know it's already been said but your artwork is DIVINE - so lovely! And i'm very confuzzled; i was certain that about a week or so back i posted a comment in this thread but it no be here... oh well. I think the notion of a board for messages is a dam good one, and the doco of the petition signing is a gem. Basically, i'm for it all. God, i'm hardly much help here, am i?!

Thank you so much, neh! *^_^* I'll do my best to do US justice with a great Ant piece. *loves*
A board with messages to Ant would be great fun. He totally needs to get an official site again and let the US mods administrate it for him. That idea is perfect 'official site' material.

Well he's seen US and I told him about the site phantasy is working on; we can only do what we can on free servers for now. He doesn't mind our sites so long as we don't spread rumours.
Truth, yes; but not rumours.

Speaking of which! I've been working on it, but please don't expect it to be something absolutely fantastic! I'm pretty new to the whole html codes and everything and so the sites going to be pretty basic. I've been working on the graphics in Dreamweaver and Photoshop (at school when I can) and I've been trying to pic different colour schemes and all. Info wise I've gotten a lot of information from imdb, interviews he's been in (video) and newspaper, magazine etc. interviews. I can't really afford buying a domain or getting a host but I do know of a few sites that host for free and where you can get free domain names etc. You guys prob know more about Ant then I do and I'm trying to write up a mini biography so if you guys want to help out feel free! I don't know much about his family either and I know he has siblings but I don't know their names.. Umm and thats about it.. I was also thinking of starting up an online gallery kind of like the one we've got here but where people can access it easier etc. If you know what I mean?

I've been attempting to get galleries set up on my photobucket but there's just so many of them! Plus I've got a whole heap of other crap up there ((if only I could remember how to get into the photobucket I made specifically for his pictures! Might have to make a new one)).
Hey phantasy, would you like me to set up a hidden board where we can focus solely on your site? It'll be your board, really, like unwinding's and like mine, but at least there we can get all the facts and so forth layered out in one place so you don't have to go chasing them about the board.

I've never understood why people spread rumors on fan sites, to be honest. It can be so misleading (and depending on the kind of rumor, often aggravating!)!! I'd much rather have leisurely accurate updates based on facts.
Marie-Cris, have you considered using Flickr.com for the galleries? Some of my friends use it, and seem a lot happier with it than photobucket, but I don't really use either one so I can't really say what the benefits of either are.

Oh yeahh, I know! I've got a photobucket account as well but I just find it so annoying because it takes me forever to upload a few photos! My computer is soo slow! So thats why I only mainly use it if I need to have it uploaded with a source code. And I can imagine you'd have quite a few pics eh Mar? Aww that would be great Mar! *hugs* *glomp* I hadn't thought about that! And I was hoping I could directly link this forum from the site as well rather then starting up another board because it wouldn't really make sense in doing so. I was thinking we could maybe make them sister sites or something? I don't know. Do you have any ideas? And I also thought of having a competition for members to come up with site names or something? And we could pick one we thought best suited? What do you think? I'm really relying on you guys for help and info because anth-ropology wise I have very little experience! *thumbsup*

You wouldn't believe how much space has been used up on my laptop with his pictures alone XD
I made a flickr account a few years' ago to do that, actually, but again there's just so many photos of him - especially now with Phantom - that it's getting a bit much to control them all. I'm thinking of making a somewhat open account for an image site ((any, really; photobucket, flickr, whatever)) that all of US can upload pictures to and manage, so that when someone finds a new pic they can add it to the specially made gallery for everyone to enjoy ((also remembering not to upload explicit images and so forth; and to not change the password or e-mail address because that's just spoiling it for everyone)).
Affiliation, phantasy; proboards has a code somewhere on their support forum that allows me to link to a "home" site via a button that will appear at the top with the log in, register, et cetera buttons, so that if they're on here and they click that it goes directly to whatever site I have entered in the code. We can use a temp button in the beginning before designing one that associates with your layout - I can make a temp button for you to use to link this forum to it as well ((for now I'll just do a grey square with the US logo on it [the one in the background])), for the beginning.
If a competition works, so be it ((mind I think the only prize will be creditation, at this point in time)); polls, discussions, whatever works.
BTW, the board has been made; I'll PM it to you and then circulate the URL amongst members ((when I get home, and once my new computer is installed, as it's a lot of e-mails and my new computer should make shorter work of it)).
Forget to set your login to forever? XD
