There is still some action on the wanted page. Some new likes and people are still talking about it. As much as I want the recording I don't know what can be done to get it.
I'm getting quite sad now just thinking about how much I miss this show.
Perhaps we could go through some of the stats from FB page and send them to Frost.

I'm not sure Frost would be in charge of that department, actually. I have a suspicion there's someone else who handles the sort of things surrounding cast recordings / advertising / finances / whatever the heck else they need, but ... I don't know. Sorry, currently brain-dead.

There has to be something somewhere - I reckon there's got to be a DVD because there are so many clips of portions of the preview night to be found on various websites. Would love to find out who has it and how much cajoling we have to do to get it!!! I miss it so much - it has grabbed my heart and won't let go. So sad There's still action on the Dr Zhivago Fans - A New Musical FB page as well - people are still interested and wanting to talk about it... Thanks for keeping this one going, too!

I believe the whole show was recorded for production reasons. The lighting, sound and projections would all be marked on the recording and used by the various engineers in the different locations.

@ Mazza - yes, that's what I figured. Would love to be able to get hold of a copy - missing those songs and that beautiful storyline so much ... as I'm sure all of us on this thread are!

Great to see Martin Crewes won Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the Sydney Theatre Awards last night for his role as Pasha/Strelnikov. A very well deserved win for a very passionate performance.
But I'm very disappointed that Lucy Maunder missed out on winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical for her exquistite portrayal of Lara after her nomination.
And another disappointment that Dr Zhivago - A New Musical didn't win Best Production of a Musical when it too had been nominated.
Martin dedicated his award to the ensemble cast of the musical. "The quality and level of ensemble performing in this country is unmatched...in the universe." Couldn't agree more, Martin!
In my eyes, everyone involved won in all their categories, just by being a part of this great show.

Seriously? Yay for Martin! I loved him in Doctor Zhivago; Pasha/Strelnikov is definitely my favourite character. Where is that quote from? Was there a news article or were you actually there?

I did wonder why you posted it there... I assumed you had some mysterious reason.

Nope, just me not thinking! I saw a Doctor Zhivago thread and posted in it. Silly me.

And if you hadn't admitted it, most of us probably wouldn't have noticed - I know I wouldn't have!

The Green Room awards are coming up in March with nominations announced in February. Fingers crossed they get some awards out of that one!

Mazza it was recorded for archival purposes and for Her Majesty's 125th Anniversary! Yay for Martin! WOOOHOOO!

On the recording, pretty sure it's standard practice for both Her Maj and Princess' Theatres to record shows for archival reasons. Not sure if this is usual for all major theatres.
I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for Doctor Z at the Green Room Awards. Was it last year's GRA where Matt Lee won Best Male Lead? That made me so sad.

That was the Helpmanns which is Sydney based. The green rooms are Melbourne based. Maybe Melbourne will be kinder!

There's some competition the DR Z FaceBook page mentioned ... I don't think it's on yet, but they said to comment with your favourite song from the show and ... something good will happen?

Finally managed to get the interview sorted. And while I was doing this you all voted against Yurii. I'll never forgive you. Well I have forgiven you so here's it is. This interview was done before Zhivago opened. I forgot all about it. I've made it into an MP4 file . If you have problems let me know and I'll try something else. Enjoy (like you wouldn't enjoy something with Anthony in!!!) www.mediafire.com/?q9voqdbbhjtbqdi

Aw, now I'll never be forgiven... Oh well, Anthony interview! Thanks ever so much, mazza! ... I have to have a bath first, so I'll try to get it later. And I'm sorry we wiped out Zhivago for you. I'm glad I didn't do the killing blow.

I actually finished reading Doctor Zhivago properly the other night. As the story went on and on I began to dislike Yury more and more.
A question about the show:
Do they touch on the part where Lara and Pasha are talking in Pasha's room and Yury walks past in the street and sees the small circle the candle burns in the ice that coats the window? That instance is probably one of the most important bits in the book and I'm curious if the include it.

Ah ... having only seen it once and not being so good at remembering stuff .... I don't think so. But everyone may now leap in and correct me.

It's nearish the beginning before Yury (not gonna spell it Yurii, nevar) meets Lara properly. The same night she tries to shoot Komarovsky.
