Thanks Cynthia and Windbelle - great scouting!
Wonder how those fans in Perth are feeling now that he won't be heading over there for their season of "Annie"... I know I'd be devastated even though I am thrilled for him. Such a fabulous opportunity and something he deserves more than anyone else.
But ... I will miss knowing he's working on something here in Oz to bring to us eventually.
Hopefully he'll still call Australia home (not only in his heart but also as his address) ... *she says, wiping a solitary tear from her eye as she imagines her beloved country without her favourite theatre performer gracing its shores*

Thanks for the links and yes great to see some new photos that were taken at the Regent. We will have to make sure when the tickets go on sale that as many as possible can get to Anthony's last performance on the 5th.
Interesting that Bert Newton is taking over Alan Jones. Honestly I think the impact of Alan's celebrity is lost in many states. I still am yet to see him play FDR as the other night we had the understudy Tony Farrell (who was also in Dr Z).

Interesting choice! I like Michael, he has a great voice and I think he will do well. I can't imagine him without hair though... I assume that they are always bald for that role?
As for Bert... At least he can do an American accent well! XD. Looking forward to seeing him in it.

Michael - was he the lead in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber? I seem to recognise him. As for Bert Newton - well I don't like to upset you Aussies but I can't stand the man!

Bert Newton as the President?
...
I'm not sure what to think about that. And I don't really know enough about Michael to give an opinion.
I'm just wondering how Warlow will fare in America, putting on an American accent?

^ I was wondering that too. Will it be like an American putting on an Australian accent? You know how obvious it is when a tv show does that....

He actually does a perfect American accent. Have you guys got the cd?
Inj, Michael did do the music of ALW. He was also in Mamma Mia. I like his voice and he is rather handsome which doesn't hurt! XD

Totally agree with Jayko - he does a very believable American accent. Perfect in the role. However, I have to agree with Inj, I have no time for Bert Newton after seeing an interview with him years ago. He came across as very arrogant and rude, and thinking way too highly of himself for my liking. Sorry Jayko And Scuffa, I really enjoyed Allan Jones as FDR - he came across very well. I'm sure Bert will as well, but I still don't like him personally.

Poor old moon face.........at least Bert can sing! I saw Michael in Beauty and the Beast (a very long time ago with Hugh Jackman {hubba hubba} in it also) and he was awesome and easy on the eyes!

A YEAR!!!!!!! Crickeys I am gonna have to beg borrow and steal to get there one day.
The Tony's were on Foxtel today. Maybe this time next year we will see Anthony on the Tony broadcast hopefully performing and collecting his first Tony.
Wonder if he is staying there to get good exposure and use this as a springboard to then have a stronger Broadway audience awareness for Zhivago to then go ahead.
Interesting that the family is staying behind. That will be tough for his daughter.

@ Scuffa - I couldn't agree more. He's going to wow them so much that he's sure to be in for a Tony next year. And ... at least having Phoebe here means he'll be coming back every few months to see her knowing they're so close - at least I'm praying that's the case *Quick wipe of the brow - whew* But I do remember hearing an interview with him once where he said that when he was in Phantom (and other shows) there would often be months at a time where they would hardly see each other - so I suppose in a way she's used to it.

Must be quite hard on a marriage when one partner is away so much. I guess when he comes home after each trip it would be like starting all over again.

Here's an interview with Anthony on Alan Jones' radio program about Warlow's Broadway debut: linkAnthony can mimic instruments too! Anyway, he better not stay over in NY for so long that he returns an old (well, much older...) man or we'd have to capture him back (this will make more sense once you listen to the interview).

Great interview - thanks for posting gizelmo. He is one very talented man - and his rendition of an old AW is fabulous - although he'd better not be over there that long
