Yay! I love Rose! Chemistry between her and Doctor was great and Billlie Piper is just so cute. Just got home from a big choir rehearsal preparing for Advent Carols on Sunday night. Feel so much better after a really shitty day with too many patients and not enough staff and too many people diagnosed with brain tumours just before Christmas and ratty workmates cos we are all so sick of working 12 hour days and having to come back for more of the same the next day and no meal breaks except for bowls of salt and vinegar chips and M&Ms and Anteasers and cans of Coke Zero on the run. Oops have just turned into Hyde and I'm actually really happy now because singing descants releases tons of endorphins and my solos were perfect and I'm still "channelling' Ant everytime I sing! My conductor says she doesn't know what I've done to my voice but I should thank whoever is responsible. Maybe I should write to him!!! *flirty*

Congrats to you Aunty Sandra! I wish i could feel happy with my singing voice... i never do, but with my mouth still partially wired - the middle bands came off yesterday so thankfully i can now get tablets down! - my alto sounds even lower! Anyone willing to subject themselvesd to a very weird partial rendition of The Dark I Know Well from "Spring Awakening" - let me know, but i'd advise you to STAY AWAY! That's actually something positive i suppose; i have joined the Spring Awakening bandwagon finally - i caved in after months of resisting - and it's actually quite addictive! I have a few new celebrity crushes due to it, but of course none will ever measure up to my immense Ant-love!

Please ignore self indulgent Hyde rant from yesterday! After a fabulous concert last night (Ian Munro playing Gershwin Piano Concerto, Aaron Copeland's Fanfare for the Common Man and the Dvorak New World Symphony) which nourished my drained soul I had a lovely night's sleep drifting off to the Snow Goose. It's 28 degrees and cloudless in Hobart today and I'm spending the day in the garden. Next to music, gardening and gardens are my other passion. I love my garden. It's like an English cottage garden and I was inspired by several great gardens I visited in England. I have lots of roses, mainly white Icebergs but also some beautiful pale pink ones called Titania and Cymbeline. The whole garden is either pink, blue or white and it is spectacular at the moment. An absolute haven. Rufus the cat is helping me by leaping at me from the undergrowth and head butting me when I bend down to pull out weeds. Now have 20 bags of mulch to spread to keep it waterwise. No water restrictions here yet, luckily and garden is well established and shady so things stay damp for a while. Anyhow, I'm happy today and I have Advent Carols tonight to look forward to. It occured to me a few minutes ago that this time next weekend I will be in Melbourne having seen Phantom twice on Saturday and just about to head off to the theatre for the third session so I really have no reason to be whinging about anything! All the overtime I have been pissed off about has paid for my trip!! I am a bad person for complaining and should be whipped. Oh, and I forgot. My youngest son got his first year Uni results back yesterday - 4 High Disinctions so I am one very proud Mummy. That pretty much guarantees him entrance and/or a scholarship to Melbourne Uni next year or the year after. He may take next year off to work full time so he can qualify for Youth Allowance when he moves to Melbourne. Melbourne Uni are now offering an English degree based on Oxford so he is keen to do that. He wants to go into publishing or communications.

Our results come out next week methinks... i'm not too hopeful, but i should at least pass everything.

Oh Sandra, I hope you get Ant for all three shows... how wonderful would that be. I'm green with envy, girl! Congrats to your son, they are fantastic results! *bows* My daughter Claire is doing communications (her major is PR) and loves it, she has just finished her 2nd year and did quite well... 1 high distinction, 1 distinction and 2 passes, she's happy! *dance*

I'm happy for everyone.
I'm equally happy about the lovely dream I had last night *floats* You may recall I was not in the best of moods last night; for a fact I stayed awake for several more hours' worrying and crying. Once I fell asleep, however ...
Just a tick ... have I written about my previous Phantom dream or not? Oh dear, I can't even remember it!!
EDIT: Oh wait, now I do. ;D I've got to remember to finish that one. Maybe we should have a dream diary ... No! Stop it Mar! Bad Mar! Bad! *whip*

Hehe, it's ok naughty Mar - and i think a dream diary would serve nicely, though i am NEVER detailing the Phantom dreams i've had in the past... oh boy....

Strangely enough in all three dreams ((I don't recall sharing the first, but I know I've written it up somewhere)) he has just been himself; never any of his characters, even if he has dressed as Erik for two of them.
Hmm. Just went through my hidden LJ; looks like I already keep a dream diary. XD
That's it, I'm going to bed.

Hi everyone, I'm finally back from SE Asia, the land of suicidal driving, weird smells and squat toilets. Had a fantastic time but is nice to be back and able to have hot showers again.
I'm so glad that you got to see Anthony as the Phantom and you enjoyed it so much Marie Cris. I'm hoping to go see it again before it leaves melbourne (sniff, sniff).

Do! Do! and be sure to keep it on so you watch the behind-the-scenes moments; Ant does impressions again and makes a puppet out of the buffer's cover thingy and does a tap dance!

I love The Main Event. Watch it over and over and over. Saw it live too so can keep reliving every delicious moment. Took me ages to find the DVD last year. Everyone was out of stock except on on-line company out of Melbourne. Did happy dance when it arrived. Had the CD but DVD is so much better, especially the extras!

My folks hate opera too. None of them can stand half the stuff I sing (("Why don't you sing something modern?! Go on, sing Eva Cassidy's rendition of Amazing Grace! Learn it by tomorrow!" *glare*)).
Although my father surprised me one year' by flipping back and forth from the footy to Madame Butterfly.

Hehe, my folks are the same, but they'll watch the Main Event coz of John and Livvy (they have nothing against Ant, they just prefer the others' musical styles) A random question Mar - do you like/not like Eva Cassidy? I'm a fan - i just feel that if i'm gonna listen to a good cover of a song, chances are she'll be the one singing it.

I like Eva Cassidy; I just hated when my mother expected me to learn Amazing Grace off by heart with Eva's technique less than 24 hours' before the gig she wanted me to sing it at. It was that birthday I wrote about some time ago. Some of the things she does vocally isn't that easy for me to do, for I have more strength singing opera than I do singing - in a word - contemporary.
It's also why I have difficulty singing musical theatre, even though I like it and I'd like to be able to train my voice to do so.

I must be one very lucky bunny. My love of opera, classical music, music theatre and every other form of music comes from my parents. I was exposed to every form at a very young age and my parents used to take me to Tas Symphony Orchestra concerts when I was quite young and then we progressed to ballet and opera. My first ballet was Coppelia, my first opera was Don Giovanni and I've been hooked ever since. Middle sister has no real interest but youngest sister studied violin and did 2 years of a music degree before getting bored and majoring in psychology. She and I took her 10 year old daughter to Phantom in October so we are carrying on the family tradition. Meggie (the 10 year old) was overheard on the phone telling my mother that she found it very hard keeping control of my sister and I when Ant came on the stage. I guess she's a little young to recognise an Antasm when she sees one!!!!!! *giggletantrum*

Congratulations!! Hehe maybe we could steal the world's largest TV and make a global broadcast XD
I've got some minor news; bought a new phone yesterday. Nothing wrong with my old one, it's just that my folks bought phones the day before so I thought: What the hey, why not? It's a Samsung A411, has the Blue Tick ((good for rural districts, one of three so far listed for pre-paid)), and I'm on the 12 month plan, as for me I don't really use up $30 all at once. I've been downloading tracks from my laptop onto it ((something I couldn't do with my old phone)) and I made a Warlow ringtone! Yay! It's not in the usual ringtone format, just MP3, but I was able to convert The World Has Gone Insane into .WAV ((using my MP3 program)), sliced it up in Sound Recorder, converted it back to .MP3 format and shipped it off to my phone. I'm the only person in the world whose phone has Warlow screaming when a call is made. XD I might make one with his scream from Transformation ... Hmm.
Sorry, I'm just loving my new phone.
One other point it has against my old phone: IT'S BLACK!!!
