Trial By Jury

Okay, I've just finished watching the HMS Pinafore/Trial By Jury DVD, and though they were done on the one night I think seperate threads for each story might be in order.

This I must admit - though hilarious as it was - I found somewhat hard to follow. Did anybody else get that? I mean now that I've re-read the cover's blurb a few times and thought about the performance for a while I've been able to piece together what happened, but say you HADN'T read the cover's blurb ((I had, though)) and you saw the performance ... was it easy to follow?

When I saw first saw Warlow I - for a fleeting moment - tried to convince myself that that wasn't him; it couldn't be him! But then he started walking through the audience and I began to reconsider the notion. He was absolutely hilarious! The makeup was okay, although there were moments where it was obvious that the hair was not his own ((imagine for a moment that you didn't know he was bald, and this was the first time you ever saw this man)). Speaking of hair, DAVID HOBSON'S! Lol! He could've taken out someone's eye with that!

Oh, I love the bit where he makes the string newspaper hearts; so adorable! Very clever too.

Now what are your opinions on Trial By Jury? I'd love to hear them

I ADORE Trial. It's one of his best performances. He is SO amazing. It really showcases his acting talent: barely ANYONE knows it's him there. The bit where he's coming through the audience is when he spoke to me, hehe. Though of course not on that performance. I saw it in Sydney. Anyway, the show is hilarious, and Anthony is so freaking amazing in it, it hurts.

I think the Judge shows off Anthony's acting ability really clealy. We all knew he could sing brilliantly - here he is doing it with a hilarious accent and some, um, interesting moves! "When first I ever came to the bar...."- I crack up just thinking about that one! I wish I'd caught on to Opera Australia faster - to see Pinafore and Trial in one night must have been incredible! (Still not quite enough Anthony or David but a reasonable dose....)
