Son has given a bit of a review of Thursdays show so I will just add little bits.
It was another great show, the full principle cast again. Luckily no major technical glitches! As Son mentioned, David was hilarious. He was really hamming it up, at the end of Hannibal where the elephant is coming out and he does his little hand wave thing he was doing a totally unenthused “whatever” type wave. Very funny. Also, when he and Andrea go to the side of stage while the dancers are doing their thing, he had a mishap with the costume lady (the lovely Kathleen Moore) and for the rest of the scene was varying between yelling at her and gossiping to Andrea about her.
Masquerade was funny, this night we were sitting very much to the right in the front row, so when Roy came to do his little ‘point the sticks into the audience’ thing, it was right at us. He didn’t break eye contact at all which had me grinning like an idiot. The fact that he mentioned seeing us in the front row at stage door had me slightly frightened at the fact that they CAN actually see into the audience!
Wandering Child had Ant knocking the staff around a bit (no comments please!) when it decided to not work on the last click. It then backfired when he jumped up to the cross and said “Don’t go!” with the fireball landing at his feet. I think he must have put it out with his foot.
His “Go now and leave me” in this nights show was pure agony. He screamed it and his hands were going crazy. It’s impossible to describe. So much anger and hurt and pain… it left you holding your breath. Also got the monkey kiss again this night.
Got to see the cast again at stage door and they were so nice yet again. Anthony stopped and chatted for a while, he was in a great mood, despite having makeup remover in his eyes! He gave us free beer vouchers to a place called “Tony’s” across the road because there were a stack of them on the stage door counter. Quite random but funny!
Well that is it for now, will write when I have more time!

had Ant knocking the staff around a bit (no comments please!) I'm sorry Jayko but after the way this thread has been going, you put something like that and expect us to leave it alone? I went to Doncaster Shopping Town today which just been renovated and guess what, there is a brand new Speedo store. I just stood outside and broke up laughing. Suppose that it should go in the YYAWW thread. But thanks to Nik, Injeanious, Son and Jayko for all the great reviews even though each one just makes me green with envy. If only I could sing, I could do the lead for Wicked....without makeup.

No comment then I suspected they could see in. I don't know of a single lighting crew that have been able to put a blanket of shadow at the end of the stage; wouldn't be all to helpful for the performers if they did anyway, as they need to see the conductor! ... Oh gawd, not the budgie smugglers.

I thought we'd established that "albatross smugglers" would be more appropriate?

Sandy, you just had to bring back the Albatross comment, didn't you? Free beer? I hope you used the vouchers, just for the anecdotal amusement!

How the heck did it get to Albatross? Was it during a Monty Python quote-out?

^ Better hope he doesn't read it then Mar, the albatross comment came out of watching MotN and commeting on Ant's impressive arm span- it was compared to an albatross.....and now it's been applied elsewhere.

I have just been looking at the POTO listings on ebay and saw a DVD of Paul Stanley's phantom, and in the description it says filmed from the balcony in Toronto. I wonder if this was a legal filming or an illegal one?

Could be illegal. But who knows? Hope its legal, and then it can be used as an excuse to get Ant recorded.

I don't think there've ever been legal theatre films of the show released. Even though there may be professionally shot ones shot by people working for the show, they couldn't be legal to be sold.

The only legal stage video is of Crawford's, and we all know that one's never been released in full. That one on e-Bay should be reported.
