Wow triple Phnatom figures Bonnie, congrats. I'm starting to have nightmares about LADS, I dreamt last night that only the chandelier section had white garden plastic chairs and the cheaper seats had the nice upholstered chairs and when the show started my sister talked the whole way through.

Has anyone considered the possibility of a proshot coming out of all of this footage? If they've got 4 cameras going already, surely someone's making a copy.

I thought of that when it was announced they would be setting up screens; it seems silly in a way not to release something out of all of this, but there's still the matter of the contract.
Saw the show on Wednesday but I'll review later; just got home from third performance of Orpheus and should really scrub off the last of the make-up before going to bed.

My nightmare came true, the chandelier seats and the stall seats had the plastic chairs and the cheap seats had nice well padded upholstered seats. I saw both shows on wednesday and on thursday nights and it was fabulous. Ant was just awesome as always but I felt they were holding back a bit and everything was taken down a notch! Had Ant, Julie and Sarah-Jane Rennie as Carlotta (she doesn't do the chest hitting thing like Andrea does when she says ".......Zis zhing does not 'appen") The venue itself is a bit sucky, I got an A reserve ticket for $60 for the matinee show and sat in section 2 row aa( this section is on an angle) had a great view of the stage. I went down to the stalls to check out my seats for the night performance and also to have a look at the orchestra "pit" as I was walking back an elderly gentlemen fell over in front of me and I dropped my bags to help him, he was so shaken up he wouldn't let go of my hand, and then his wife came and she was so upset she started crying. Then the St John medics came and took him away for a check up.......he ended up seeing the rest of the show from the boxes ( he wasn't the only one to fall, apparentley there have been heaps of falls and slips in the stalls!) Wenseday night show with a Triple A delight (Ant Ana & Alex) was seen from chandelier section row J and was not impressed with the 50 foot couple (who kept on kissing each other) sitting in front on me.......Still an awesome show, just had to sway from side to side to see they stage and probably watched majority on the crappy screens which became a god send otherwise I wouldn't have seen anything! Still toned down vocally and hoping they are saving themselves for a cracker of a last week and not getting sick. Thursday night I got the same seat as wednesdays matinee! Only snag was the curtain on the angel! Cast was fabulous and I almost fell asleep in the second half. WTF! I hear you scream......hehehe!Yes you read that correctly I've been slammed with a severe throat infection.........nice! .............so with that said we didn't hang around to see Ant or Ana but the security guard did tell me where the "stage door" is! Thursdays audience seemed to laugh alot louder than the other nights. And the award for best facial expression goes to= David Rogers Smith in "Don Juan" when he is lying on the bed. I never actually saw his face but thanks to seeing it on the big screen,it was classic! ;D Remember don't drink the tap water and keep your mouth shut in the shower when in Adelaide!!

Awwwwwwwww Poppy you've certainly had some ups and downs for these shows! It's pretty crappy that the ones paying top dollar for the best seats end up with the crappiest seats and not so great view! And thanks for the reminder about the water, friend of mine said it tastes bad... like bore water! Hey Mar Adelaide's reservoir underground? Poppy are going to LADS?

I don't know too much about Adelaide water, only that it tastes like s t and will probably kill you. Every time we come down from Waikerie we bring our own water and when we run out we either buy bottled water or boil the hell out of tap water.

And I'm glad I've never heard of "I Got My Mojo Working" to launch my imagination into Colm's version. Oh, by the way, I asked mum to hold onto this from last Sunday's paper: Still Phan-tastic.

It's weird, I tried Nik's link earlier and it didn't work... now, all of a sudden, it's working. Here is the whole link, if you want to cut and paste it: www.twincities.com/entertainment/ci_12386786?nclick_check=1Reviews people, we need reviews for those of us who live in the wrong country!!! Poppy, I'm so with you.. the radio song request I put in for "I'll Walk Beside You" got quite a few of my friends asking "where on earth did you find that song?" I haven't had the courage to tell them about the owl and the dickeybird ;D

Weird, both links are still working for me this morning, I must be special ;D Ok, what about if you go to: www.twincities.com/entertainment And then scroll down (quite a way) to under the Stage topic, where you'll see the headline you can click on.

Poppy, did you prefer the seats in the stalls or the seats further back?

Just a short review of last night's show for those who are missing them. Venue is "interesting". Bubbles per glass is half the cost as Sydney and Melbourne. Which is dangerous. Screens are distracting. Had front row centre seat so view was great. Quite a few ensemble cast changes so that was different. Miss seeing Roy pop up. And Warlow's voice rules. Absolutely perfect and strong. Definitely the strongest I've heard for ages. The end.

Poppy, did you prefer the seats in the stalls or the seats further back? To be honest I preferred the seats further back and they were cheaper too! ;D Stall seating is ok if you are in the front row of an elevated chandelier section. Looking forward to tonights show, hopefully I'll make it in time. ...and in total agreeance with Sandy, Warlow's voice is sublime if I haven't already mentioned it before.

Think I might as well wait until LADS is over before I write up reviews as time doesn't seem to agree with me.
Still, found out about the $60 seats so Fredus and I are heading up tomorrow night! Literally up, we're in section 7 Row L dead centre and I'm interested to see how the quality of the screens are from that far back ((but I've got my binoculars for costume examination, as always ...)).

you would think the screens would be fine when your a fair way back sitting in 2nd row tonight they were bloody annoying. but will admit the camerawork was actually pretty good, better than i thought it would be. warlow was in very fine form i thought tonight. had julie as christine which was awesome, shes REALLY cute think i saw you sandy in the front row again. and another lady sitting near you who i met in perth (apologies...I am hopeless with names!) will introduce myself either friday or definitely saturday!

And in an attempt at getting this topic kinda back on track - The Phantom in all the background pictures in the Bar, is Ian Jon Bourg. Great Phantom! I love *coughs* for that very reason.
