Hehe good to see you having fun with the game.
One thing I found really annoying was how slowly Raoul walked - in some places you can use the spacebar to rush him.

You can?! That would've been helpful to know after hearing Julie Giry's scream ((he didn't seem to eager to go, did he?))

Roy's a self-professed gamer - so jayko, you should post the link up over at his forum. That way he can still get his fix as Erik while he's out of action with the dodgy knee! You can do the honours Nik, after all you were the one that found out about it!

I don't know where I should be going. Christine's not in her room, I've just fallen through time, and collected all the lighting frames ... Rather tempted to break his bloody leg again.

and just a note, when you get to the fight on the chandelier, watch out for Raouls face. Funniest thing in the whole game.

Mme Giry wouldn't have told you much until you'd collected at least three of the coloured frames anyway :/ ... and it was such a shock to see the actors they put into that fight scene ... just seemed so wrong after watching the stage show!

I've got all the frames; just went off to have dinner and watched a bit of idol. Thank the Goddess I'd saved just in the next room. Gawd, green ... Hang on ... these graphics remind me of Runescape! >)_< EDIT: A much as I hate this game, I love it too.

I don't know where I should be going. Christine's not in her room, I've just fallen through time, and collected all the lighting frames ... Rather tempted to break his bloody leg again. I haven't had time to download the game yet (though from the sounds of it, thats the most time consuming part of this whole thing) but this is thread is so hilariously random at the moment it's great, like when you hear people talking about wow and none of it makes sense but it sounds too silly to actually be real.

We're pretty much random all the time. I think once in the Phantom of the Opera thread we were talking about food.
So it's rather a miracle when we're ON topic.

^ And let's not forget what the, "I Am Not What I Am Not," thread disintegrated to in a handful of posts. Cosmo, that one is so utterly random you'd probably fall off your chair with shock and/or laughter.

Oh Goddess, that. >)_< Still, the Word Association thread has copped the worst beating.
And it's a crime what we did to the Birthday thread, of all threads.
I had to restart it AGAIN - turns out my last game from last night didn't save and it took me back to where I had stumped the game.
By the way, for those interested in getting the game, be sure to go through the DOSBox tutorial on the website to set it up and where to save the game. Once you've got all that and you enter DOSBox, you need to go:
dir cd return~1 dir cd phantom phantom.bat
You also need to open or save the Protected Book to get the hidden code word the game asks you for; it changes each time.

I'm a bit slow, but I finally worked out what you meant by breaking Raoul's leg at will, Marie-Cris! I completely forgot that you could make him jump into the orchestra pit at will Gosh that's fun hehe Have you finished the game yet?

Yeah, I set aside a few minutes last night to get through it; once I got through that bloody Labyrinth I was rather disappointed. Did, however, get a few laughs out of trying to find new ways to kill him. Discovered that you can poison him by getting the wrong code at the leavers, set him on fire ((sort of)) by taking too long to solve the picture puzzle and escape from the fire room, and if you don't push the crane when you're fighting Erik the ugly, fat Raoul ((who I was hoping to look more like the father from Mary Poppins, considering his pixelated self)) chokes to death. Couldn't be bothered finding out what happens if you don't remove the Erik's mask once you've pinned him ...
Gawd that "disfiguration" was awful.
Hmm. I wonder if Christine would suffocate if you take too long to open the sarcophacus(sp?).

Ahh most morbid. I don't think Christine suffocates though, I know I spent some time exploring that lair (the game designers included an ensuite of all things).
Agreed, fight scene and character close up was disappointing.

From www.monstersandcritics.com/people/news/article_1430756.php/Andrew_Lloyd_Webbers_park_party"There is something I would like to say tonight which is thank you to all the people who have helped me in my career. I would like to thank everyone who loves musicals as much as me and I promise you I will try my best with the sequel to 'The Phantom of the Opera' which, I can exclusively reveal tonight, will be called 'Love Never Dies'." Love Never Dies? I swear, he's taken the titles of the worst fanfics imaginable, thrown thrown them into a hat and picked them out at random.

Yep, that's a really bad title. I thought mine was pretty horrible as The Phantom Lives, but that... that really does take the biscuit. Maybe I should have taken my mate up on the offer of sending it to ALW. Sounds like it'd be much more appreciated than the drivel he's peddling at the moment. re: Return of the Phantom. I thought that I was the resident game geek?!? ^_^ Dear ol' micropose and their wonderful cheesy music! ^_^ Did anyone read the credits? I thought they were hilarious! I played the game earlier this year while doing research into games of the early nineties (and trying to find one sensible company that could do it justice). re: sequels, I wonder why ALW decided against a prequel? Surely he would have noticed that Kay's Phantom was a massive hit?

The "Australian" paper ran a story this weekend on the Phantom sequel, did you see it?
ALW reckons he's ready to go and is keen to set theatre history (because he hasn't achieved enough in life, yet) and premier "Phantom: Love Never Dies" in three theatres on three continents simultaneously. (England, US and China).
Set in Brooklyn ten years after Raoul and Christine sailed out of the Labyrinth, the article says it will premiere "at the end of next year" (remember, it was still 2008 when the article was published).
ALW is quoted as saying: "We are pretty clear on who our Phantom is going to be, I can't say who" I guess he is talking about the London version - three shows running at once can't all have the same Phantom, even Anthony is not that good!!
Sadly, for all the Anti-Gerry's on this forum, Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman are listed as front runners for the role. I have a suspicion it will be someone completely new though. a new talent that ALW has discovered amongst his UK talent shows.
Anyhoo - we'll just have to wait and see! Life is full of adventure, isn't it!?
Cheers MuLo

More incentive NOT to see it?
Although I'd probably be worried no matter who's cast as Erik. I really ... really don't want to face this yet.
Aus Cast Recording first, then we'll talk.
