^ As a young child I did. There's an infamous family story where I upset the Scrabble board in a fit of temper at age 7....
> Scattergories is our beachhouse game, because we always play it down the beach after the kids have gone to bed and we're all sleep deprived and the answers are hilarious (and often a little R rated) #XD#
V Who are your boardgame-playing buddies?

^ Amy. We like to play the Doctor Who boardgame (sad as that sounds).
>Transformation and Alive are ridiculously good. This is unfair. I'm not getting ANY writing done because I keep stopping to listen to Ant screaming in my ear and giggling when I imagine him pirouetting and falling over to "IS THIS DEATH?!?" as wrong as that sounds (Btw, Ant, that's meant as a compliment. I LOVE Transformation. It's a brilliantly performed piece if I can imagine what you're acting as you sing it). Dammit, why must J&H be so addictive?!
V Ever attempted to write a book?

^ The closest i've got was writing as Jane Austen in Lit, it was Edwards proposal to Lucy, got a 54/60 > god i'm excited to finish my exams tomorrow, i'm looking forward to heaps! V how were your exams?

^ Great.
> And no more school. EVER. It just get s better and better saying that.
V Did you have a teacher you loathed? (And I don't mean disliked. I mean hated. Deeply)

^ One. I called her Dragonlady. We loathed each other from day one of year eight until the day I graduated. She once said I was stupid and would never amount to anything. Possibly the best thing anyone's ever said to me, because it made me fight to succeed. > Yay! Wes is singing! God, I hope that Mark doesn't butcher my Rob. I'll be FURIOUS if Smooth isn't done with the proper treatment. One must treat anything Rob Thomas has touched with appropriate care and respect. V Talking about school, what is/was your favourite subject?

^ Legal studies. Though I never had the marks to be a lawyer it did help getting my first job in a Solicitors office.
> Happy I am back home after cat/housesitting for two weeks. Now gotta get the cat hair out of everything. I luv petting them but it's a pain when they are losing their winter coat.
V I have only just joined Facebook and having fun playing Scrabble with my friends who are all over the state. What online games do you find addictive?

^ Boggle online. Sends me back to Primary school when I kicked everyone's butts > Ah, school... V Next holiday?

Post by phantomess on Nov 17, 2008 9:43:18 GMT 9.5
^ Define 'holiday'. XD Well, I'm on uni break at the moment, but I think "Thank God It's Over" day is going to be a raucous day of partying. For those unaware, TGIO Day is spread over two days: Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st. It marks the end of National Novel Writing Month and the successful writers who completed the minimum requirement of 50,000 words. I'm on the down hill run now! WOO!
> On the subject of writing... GAAAH! REALLY shouldn't have left Henry and Emilie together at the end of that last chapter... now I'm wondering about Celeste's mother, Marie-Jeanette Rousseau. *buries head in hands* Why, oh lord, did I create so many non-canon characters?
V Speaking of characters, have you ever acted in Shakespeare? If so, what part and if not (and you want to) which character would you play?

^ Yes. I've played chorus in R&J and was Lady Macbeth for our english class reading and mini-performance. I was also LM for my english assessment, where I decided a speech about the the themes of Macbeth was too boring and so rocked up to school on assessment day as insane Lady Macbeth and did a dramatic reading. > Yeah I'm a little OTT I love dressing up in costume. So much! V What's something you just love doing for the hell of it?

^ Random vocalising. Just occasionally bursting out with the end of "Think of Me" usually. XD
> GAH! I can't think! My brain is awash with lazy-itis! Curses and damnation, not today! NOT ON ANT'S BIRTHDAY! I'm MEANT to be inspired to my highest word count ever!
V Did you like Enchanted? (Mum has it on in the background and I'm bopping along to the Central Park scene...)

V Fashion item/trend you wish you had the courage to wear?

Post by Marie-Cris on Nov 19, 2008 9:30:34 GMT 9.5
^ Anything. There are surprisingly a few good items in places like Valley Girl and so forth ((I know because L.A. dragged me in there the other day)) but they don't look good on me. I don't have the right frame *coughfatcough* > Back on the Shakespeare thing, we mainly read it out loud in English. In Julius Caesar I was Mark Antony, in Romeo and Juliet I was Lord Capulet, and because I really wanted the part - and because a certain bitch was nagging about me getting all the main parts ((I didn't choose to be Lord Capulet, they made me! > )) - I was the Third Witch in Macbeth ((I love her section of the classic Double speech)). We did do a re-written version of A Midsummer Night's Dream in Drama one year' which had excerpts from Romeo and Juliet and such ((the girls that wrote it did it between "Cheerleaders" and "Jocks")), and I played Puk. I had 12 lines at the end of the night and that was it. I had to wait 2 hours' to say those 12 lines. Wasn't happy. Plus I hated my costume; it was my top and L.A.'s sarong, but my weight was still on the heavy side back then. I still wouldn't wear something like that these days though, despite losing weight. V Had / have any enemies in high school?

^Actually... no. I was kind to everyone and a bit of the 'mother' figure in most groups I associated with. Even when I played the part of 'crabby, grumpy old senior' as Music Captain in '04, the year eights loved me! Half the choir were in tears when I announced that the end-of-year performance would be my last with them. > Lol, didn't think my Shakespeare comment would have got such a rapturous reception. Myself, I was understudy to Macbeth, second witch and I played Puck in my junior year performance of MSND. Quite liked that role, actually. Though I am quite fond of the Shakespeare Retold series. V Do you take public transport often?

^ As I don't drive, yes. And it's easy!
> Mar, you're not fat. End of discussion.
V If someone compliments you, do you fight it?
|
|
|
Post by Fredus on Nov 19, 2008 19:20:54 GMT 9.5
^ I'm not good at getting compliments. I'm suspicious of the fact that people only ever give me a compliment if I've just said something bad about myself. (Poor self esteem? Me?)
> I've been wondering for ages why my mouse isn't working properly - it keeps veering leftwards. In a moment of frustration, I picked it up and looked at the bottom. It appears the whole thing is clogged with cat hair.
I know my brother said Cricket shouldn't sleep on the monitor, but it didn't occur to me that he shouldn't sleep in front of the keyboard either. So all those nights that I've patiently worked around the cat, I probably should have kicked him off - or let him sleep on my lap, which is where he is now.
V Do your pets cause problems in your life?
|
|
|
Post by phantomess on Nov 19, 2008 19:34:20 GMT 9.5
^ My pets ARE the problem in my life! XD Nah, I love my cats. Harley's cheeky and Nala is the ruler of the roost. > Awwww! You know you're on to a winner when the boy you're with, while shopping at Dymocks, picks up Pirates of Penzance, looks at you and goes straight to the counter, buys it, hands it over and says "Merry Christmas!" V Do you have unusual pets?
|
|
|
Post by Fredus on Nov 19, 2008 19:45:16 GMT 9.5
^ I have an Eastern long necked turtle called William Squirtle, and a couple of mice. I'm not sure if they count as unusual....
> My head doesn't seem to be working properly tonight. It took me about ten tries to spell unusual. It isn't as though it is a tricky word, and I'm normally good at spelling. Actually, pretty much every word I just wrote, I had to go back and rewrite it. Argh! Probably a good indication that I should go to bed.
> Have you ever felt like you're functioning normally, but later you realise you were doing/saying/writing really stupid things?
|
|

Post by killerbananas on Nov 19, 2008 20:13:06 GMT 9.5
^ Yup. Usually happens when I'm incredibly sleep deprived. I think I sound normal, when I sound like an idiot.
> Like during 4am convos in 1067. Sugar, anyone?
V Do you know anything about 1067? (I was just wondering if the constant 1067 comments were confusing many people)

V Have you ever sent an angry letter to a TV station?

Post by phantomess on Nov 21, 2008 16:35:24 GMT 9.5
^ Not so much a station... wait, yes. Channel Ten cancelled the screening of a Backstreet Boys concert to cover the Australian Open (I think). So I rang them up and blasted them. Thank heavens it wasn't Anthony, or there would have been a deluge like none other! XD
> How many King Louis' does one country NEED?!? Sheesh, I started researching who was in power in and before 1885 and I end up with a list of Louis!
V Ever been frustrated by research?

V Ever had a night of crazy and in the morning just kept laughing at the memories?

^ Oooh yeah. In a spectacular example of being a failed role model, I was a teenager, drunk, wandering around my neighbourhood with my friends, singing Evanescence at the top of our lungs at 2am. We thought it was funny. Kiddies, don't follow Aunty Phantomess' example. Drinking anything alcoholic is BAD. > Tired... oh so very tired... but so happy at a hug from my first Doctor! SQUEE! XD V Ever met someone in costume and just wanted to hug them? (note: cast members of any show don't count)

> The mouse wheel is squeaking in the louge room. I'm listening to Midnight Dreaming and it is being ruined by those daft mice. I wish they would just stop running for a few minutes....
V What's the sound that annoys you most?

Post by Fredus on Nov 27, 2008 18:12:48 GMT 9.5
^ Umm.... I'm not much of a shopper. Unless tools count - I bought a set of chasing tools for $350, which is about 300 less than I was expecting.
> I still haven't used that chasing set. They've been sitting in my tool box for about two months and I can't use them. I didn't have enough silver, and now that I've got that on order, I just realised I haven't got a heat gun yet. I was in Canberra on the weekend - I should have gone to Bunnings. So now I'm going to have to rely on a bloke from work who will be going to Canberra next week. It all takes so much effort...
V Favourite thing to buy?
