Hey everyone, My name's Greg, I live in Melbourne and am currently studying Performing Arts / Law at Monash Uni. I first heard Warlow on the jekyll & Hyde soundtrack, and was amazed by his ability to act with his voice. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to see him in all the concerts and shows he has done in Melbourne. I work at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, Victoria's biggest theatre complex, and so I often see Anthony in the canteen before and after shows. For those of you that haven't met him, he's quite a tall man. The highlight of my Warlow obsession would have to be when a mate and I travelled up to Sydney last year to see him and David Hobson (and Richard Alexander and John Bolton-Wood) in opening night of Pirates of Penzance. Because we work at the Opera House's sister theatres, we made friends with the Front of House Managers who let us go down to the Green Room at interval and meet David and Anthony. f king unbelievable!! I suppose thanks to Marie-Cris for setting up the website when a whole lot of us thought about doing one but were too lazy to actually go through with it. Hope to enjoy the forums for a while. Talk to you all soon. G.

Welcome, Greg! Wow, I'm soooo envious of you for having met the man in person.
Actually, I have a longtime interest in how tall he is. Can't figure it out by watching him in those videos. :-)

WELCOME TO UNEXPECTED SONG, GREG!
*clears out ears* Yeah, standard shout
He's quite tall and I'm quite short. Perfect ;D *hides in closet to fume uber jealousy about someone else who's met the man*

Heya Belle
Thanks for the welcome!
Haha - as a rough guide - if you have the DVD of Pinfore/Trial By Jury, David Hobson is about 6'6. Compare Anthony with David to get some idea.
Suffice to say, they'd both do well on a basketball team!

Suffice to say, they'd both do well on a basketball team! David is about 6'2'' at the max - I'm 5'4" and in lowish heels I come up to his chin, but he still has to stoop when he kisses me . Anthony is an inch or so shorter. I was at Middle Eight Music the day they opened, and have a picture of the three of us together. P.S. I'm new here, but in another place you've met me as The Operatic Phantom!

Haha - then he must have grown recently. When I met him in Sydney he was significantly taller than me, and I'm 6'2 . He's certainly taller than his wife (who was also there in Sydney), but perhaps 6'6 was a bit of an over-estimation ... maybe 6'4?? Either way - welcome to the forums!!

A warm welcome to you, Ms. Phantom! Glad to see more members coming up here.
Ha, I had supposed Anthony to be around 5'11" - 6'2". I guess I was quite close at least. ^_^

He's certainly taller than his wife (who was also there in Sydney), but perhaps 6'6 was a bit of an over-estimation ... maybe 6'4?? Either way - welcome to the forums!! When my six-footer cousin met David after a concert last year I asked him later how tall he thought he was, and Coz opined about 6'2". Last weekend I was chatting with the Hobsons at a charity cricket match and before David changed into his cricket clobber they were both wearing comfortable thongs (footware) while I had low-heeled sandals. Without her customary 3" heels Amber was half a head taller than me (so maybe I'm nearer the 5'5" I always claimed to be in days of yore!), but David and I still measured up about the same. In Pinafore he was the tallest man on stage when standing to attention (even one of the critics remarked on the fact) but like all tall men he tends to lounge so it's hard to gauge his true height offstage. I have to email Amber about something else so, although she'll think it an odd question coming from me, I'll ask her exactly how tall David is at the same time. Thanks for the welcome, folks, I may not be a regular visitor but I'll try to materialise occasionally - and I have tickets for several Pirates performances in Melbourne (having already seen it three times in Sydney, including first and last nights!) so I'm bound to have something to say!!

I just looked through the previous pages and found that I haven't made a formal self-introduction yet. Guess I was just lazy or kept forgetting about it. So here it is in brief
ID: windbelle, my mostly used id, which used to be windbell at first, but switched to windbelle because the former is often registered by others. You can just call me WB or wind or belle for short, whatsoever.
Name: Grace.......my English name (and actually not very often used online. I guess you wouldn't be interested in how to pronounce my actual name in my mother tongue, so I just leave it out. ;D)
Gender: Female
Star Signs: Scorpio
Location: China
Occupation: Graduate student
Hobbies: I'm interested in everything related to Anthony Warlow, musicals, some classical music, jazz, ballet, figure skating, etc.
Favorite bands/singers: Anthony Warlow of course( I have a bunch of favorites but no one can parallel him so far. ;D ) Used to like The Cranberries and Enya quite a lot too.
Favorite movies and actors: Seems no permanent ones. I haven't formed a definite idea about it. Used to love Johnny Depp, Jeremy Brett, and Colin Firth a lot. Recently interested in Edward Norton.

The one beginning with "Y"? ((I won't say it if you don't want me too, but I've got a rough idea on that pronunciation)). Unless you mean the Chinese characteristics that were by your name the other week ((in which case of course I can't pronounce it, I can't read it))

Unless you mean the Chinese characteristics that were by your name the other week ((in which case of course I can't pronounce it, I can't read it)) Yeah, that's it. That's how it's spelled by English letters according to the pronunciation. But it's still different from English pronunciation. Normally native English speakers would have problem pronoucing it correctly, so I won't try to describe it now.

Hi everyone, My name is Liz, and I'm presently a student and, most importantly, a singer. I first heard Anthony on the Les Miz Symphonic Recording and thought that he had the best voice in that collection. Now, I live in a country where Australian recordings are so rare as to be inexistent, but I came across The Best of Act One in a record store and, recognizing the name, bought it on an impulse. From then on I was hooked. I have come across a pitiable few in my travels [sigh], so I'm really glad to have found this site where I can find out more (and see and hear more) about Anthony. Thanks to everyone who has shared his/her collection here. And to the admin for creating this excellent site.
