WELCOME TO UNEXPECTED SONG, TARA!
Yeah, I think it's time I stopped shouting; need to save my voice. ((Oooh Warlow just did his little "so well" in You Do Something to Me)). You're so lucky you saw him; I hope we all get the same luck someday. I also hope you enjoy your time here and we all look forward to getting to know you.

Well, I think that it's time to introduce me. There's long time that I registered in this forum and I haven't post anything.
Hi, I'm AyA (sometimes Gavroche, others Enjolras). I'm 19 years old girl living in Barcelona (Spain). There's only a year that I know Anthony Warlow. It was when I went to see Les Misérables in London and I bought the 1988 International Cast. When I heard his voice I needed to know who was the man who has such beautiful voice, and then I become an obsessive fan of him, although he is in the other side of the world...
I don't usually speak English so my English is very very poor, I beg you pardon me.

Welcome to our board, AyA and Aliiak!!
Yeah, Aya you really don't need to worry about your English. I don't speak English in my daily life either but I think I haven't caused much confusion here yet. XD And there're members from some other non-English speaking countries so don't worry and just enjoy yourself here.

Hello everyone
I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and as everyone seems very nice, I thought I might take a step in..
After being disappointed that I couldn't get to Melbourne the first time around, after all of these years, I finally had the opportunity to see Anthony in Phantom. Well, once wasn't enough and I will be going again in.
Looking forward to joining in if that's o.k. and warm wishes Emony

Well here goes... First ever post on a forum at the ripe old age of 48. I live in Hobart which is pretty much as far from the centre of the music theatre universe as you can get. First ever musical theatre experience (apart from movie musicals which I was brought up on) was seeing the Mikado at our lovely Theatre Royal when I was 5. Have come along way since then and over the last 20 years have seen Westside Story, Les Mis, the Lion King and Guys & Dolls (last year) in London plus countless shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane when on holidays. First stage appearance was singing Where is Love at the age of 8 in Hobart Eisteddfod (I won) and have been moved by music ever since. It reaches parts of my soul that NOTHING else does. Now sing in a small Anglo-Catholic church choir (that's High Church Anglican - like being Catholic without the guilt). Best thing ever I've done musically was in 2002 when on a choir trip to England we performed evensong at St Paul's Cathedral London and I led the choir in and out. Kind of a surreal moment Am a long time devotee of Ant Music (the one true "Ant" not Adam and the Ants from the 80s) First remember seeing him on Midday with Ray Martin. having small children in the 80s (2 sons born '85 & '88) meant I relied on Ray and his guests for a life, and BOY did Ant provide that. Remember all his appearances including the day he was diagnosed and the wonderful duet he did with Simon O'Donnell when he returned. As a small boy, my eldest wanted to be Ant when he grew up. He still sings and is a baritone. We used to listen to On the Boards and Centre Stage to and from school every day when he was in primary school. And me? I wish I'd been born about 25 years later so I could have pursued a career in music theatre. In my day, in Hobart it just wasn't an option unless you were willing to go away. So, I became a nurse and now work as a nurse manager in an operating theatre. Still a theatre, but we just don't get the applause or recognition (or even get remembered mostly!) Now divorced (how could I have married someone who had no musical soul) so now lust after the voices of David Hobson & Ant (my idea of a manwich!!!). Kick myself for missing them in Pirates and Pinafore but will never let lack of time come between me and my men again! Have seen POTO twice this run (once in week one so imagine my disappointment). Am heading to Melb for work (well going on a junket to Oaks Day if you must know) and have booked a seat for Wednesday & Thursday nights just cos I could!! Stay in the hotel next door so I can be in bed dreaming of Ant less than 15 minutes after curtain goes down! It's a great relief to find I'm not the only Antoholic out there. Saw him do his concert last year with Tas Symphony Orchestra in Feb. It was magnificent. Also saw Main Event and Grease which both also toured here. Have every CD & DVD. Have just spent a week at family beach house watching and listening to everything of him I have on endless repeat, came back and found this forum and am hooked!

Wow. Antoholic; now there's a word we have to fling about. Hmm ... *ponders evil pondering* ... Did I say that out loud *cough* You married a man with no musical soul?! You poor dear! Oh, I know; City Limits, right? That's where I'm staying in January. Good side-long glance at the backstage door ... *dance* You get to see him more times than I probably ever will in my life. And you have EVERY CD and DVD?! *green much* I've only got 10 of the CDs ((officially; I have the audio from the others, though *coughcough*)) and 4 of the DVDs. You're so lucky to be able to have the lot. By the way, welcome to Unexpected Song sanderella. *giggle* manwich

Hi and welcome sanderella... It's great to have another devoted fan posting in my age group, but I have to say the 'youn'ns' are lovely and don't think we are to old to love our Anthony! I've only seen Ant live three time so far, but like you, now that the kids are all grown... I'm NEVER EVER missing another show he does! I have every CD and DVD of his and not a day goes by I don't listen to something of his... I have to have my fix at least once a day. I'm very lucky that in one of my two jobs I can listen to his music while working and as I have an hours drive to and from the other job, those days I listen to him in the car. I'm also fortunate that my youngest daughter enjoys his music and so she is always happy to come with me to his shows and to have him singing for us in the car (sadly the husband is not a fan, but he did enjoy Phantom). Claire loved Phantom so much when we saw it in Sept. that I've just bought tickets to the Sydney show for her 21st birthday present next year in June! We are hoping to see it 4 times in Syd. next year... I just wish the tickets hadn't gone on sale so soon, after xmas would have been better. Anyway glad you've joined us!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Just scheduled my hols for next year so I will be in Brisbane in early Feb for a Phantasm, nip down to Sydney to see DHob at Taronga Zoo on 9th Feb *thinks... any chance he will wear a loin cloth like Tarzan to blend in with the wild animals he he he* ;D then will be back in Sydney for end of May for a second Phantasm. Is that having multiple Phantasms? ? It is very refreshing to see such well-rounded amusing youg people here who have a passion for music theatre and don't think Jazzgirl and I are a little bit icky for having womanly passions in the late summer of our lives. Don't forget us girls peak at 50!!!! Gonna have to work some weekends to boost my holiday fund. Luckily have free accomodation in Bris and Syd!! Wonder if Ant would like to share my luxury poolside guesthouse in Bris? Melting at that thought!

Wonder if Ant would like to share my luxury poolside guesthouse in Bris? Melting at that thought! You're not the only one ... *toast* Plus I'm listening to The Girl From Ipanema and the line "swings so cool" sounds suspiciously like "screws so cool". Stop it Mar! Bad mouth! *THWACK!*

Think Girl from Ipanema is one of my faves. Just love the dlays and hesitation and the general scrumminess. I feel another Antasm coming on (shocking pun!!!)

XD That's brilliant! Here I was trying to find a way to combine the words "audio" and "orgasm" together and you hit one better. Antasm; I like it!
AAAAH Phantom of the Opera! *toast* ((Listening to The Main Event *dance*; I love the whole Age of Reason beginning, it fits so well))
Face the Music is actually my driving CD. I'm such a hypocrite, before I could drive I was always complaining about the hoons and now I AM one! XD I'm the only hoon in my town that plays Anthony Warlow and ClassicFM. Mwua ha.

I'm driving to Midnight Dreaming at the moment. Well... not right at the moment cos I would have to be typing in the car and that would just be silly!!! I use it to warm up to, both vocally and in other ways to and from choir practice. Much better than scales. Good cos I can also sing up or down an octave with Ant so cords get complete aerobic workout
