Having had my first experience watching Phantom through binoculars last week, I found that the... costume detail... that you could see was incredible. So what I want to know is, What things about Phantom/other Shows have you picked up only when watching through binoculars?
To start the ball rolling: - the Phantoms mask isnt all white, it is painted with pink/purple and Blue - The phantoms eyeshadow is a mix of blues and greens with the black.

- Picked up my ring thing through binoculars. Through the show, Anthony wears the Phantom ring (I wonder if it's the plastic one you used to get with the Phantom comic?) on the ring finger of his right hand. But when Christine hands it back to him, he replaces it on the ring finger of his left hand. Very symbolic. Roy wears it on the little finger of his left hand (I think) and I didn't have binoculars when I saw Simon so I can't be sure about that one.

- The Phantom mask has blush. - The Phantom's makeup looks like a festering crator slightly attacked by an anime artist.

- The angels on the set have dangling earrings, and the main one wears a necklace

P-Ants? With the binoculars -- and I was only using them in the Dress! -- it's kind of neat how you can block out the entire theatre and just concentrate on the actors. I do prefer to not need them but it does make for a different perspective. You tend to pay even more attention when your vision's whittled down to a little circle.

Row S is acceptable for use of binoculars, right?

Yes. Sometimes sitting further back has distinct & unique advantages! Don't think I'll get away with it in AA though! Can you just imagine the look on his face!

They can't do that, can they? Warlovianism supersedes all.

I'm not even going to try. At my advanced age it's sure to be fatal!

@ Nikita - the wet-glue on the sideburns and mustaches was probably matte spirit gum. I just finished doing the hair class in makeup school. When applying hair you have to be careful not to over glue or it shows up really shiny. But you don't know that til it's under the lights. Just a little useless info. for you. . . ;-)

Jazz will probably have her pair with her anyhoos, but i'm going to put in a request to see if we can lend them to Cinta for the evening, as she'll be in the stalls. *mental note, mental note* I actually got a headache from the intensity with which i focused Jazz'a binoculars at the last show! All that time during PORN, going up and down..... up and down.....

In all seriousness, second row looking up at Ant's "disfigurement"... it's not so impressive close up. It's pretty obviously drawn on. Most upset about that... but happy about the thought of Christine grabbing a handful of cape and rubbing it, saying "you got something on your face..."

Hehehe I got a headache when I used then tool... they should come with a warning - 'WARNING OVERUSE OF THIS DEVICE DURING POTO/PORN MAY RESULT IN PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE' but none of us would head the warning anyway! And of course Ciinta can use the glasses, no problem!

I was able to get a VERY close up look at the stuff the performers wear when I was backstage and you can really tell just the level of quality they put into them is astonishing. Seriously, this is NOT cheap stuff here, you can't see the slightest flaw with any of their outfits, and I couldn't help but get the feeling that they are somewhat paranoid about keeping them intact. Its also funny looking at some of the props up close or at different angles, like the back of the floating candelabras, which are unpainted and full of wires
