As a few of us are huge fans of this enormously talented and versatile Australian a cappella group, I thought it might be worthwhile to have a thread devoted to them.
They formed in 1996 in Canberra and sing a vast range of music, from jazz to R & B, from pop to classical, from soul to gospel. The current line up is Sally Cameron (soprano), Naomi Crellin (alto), Nick Begbie (tenor) and Andrew Piper (bass). Naomi joined the group in 2002, replacing Meg Corson, and Sally joined the group in late 2007, replacing the founding soprano Trish Delaney-Brown who had left to have her first baby.

Apart from being innovative musically, they are innovative technologically! I received advance notice yesterday that their concert tonight (August 9th 2008) at the Brisbane Powerhouse is being streamed live on the internet. You can register for free at The Music Page. This was a brilliant find as there is heaps of other stuff here including some other archival Idea of North stuff including a brilliant rendition of Down To The River at Trish's farewell concert plus many other classical, jazz and choral concerts. I've been listening to clips all day!
My advice? Give them a go. You will become hooked. They are enormously entertaining, as well as being musically sublime!
