That was HER movie? I always glanced at it on the shelf in stores but never really took a look at it.

I just thought it was something about boxing.
((It is about boxing, right?))
I'm not much for movies revolving around sport.
Maybe Dodgeball a little ... and Waterboy ... and Happy Gilmore ...

Yes. It was about boxing. From what I remember, Ryan O'Neal played a has-been boxer making a return and Barbra Streisand was his coach. That's as big a stretch as Nicole Kidman playing a brain surgeon in Days of Thunder, I reckon!

The last thing I noticed in Days of Thunder was that she was a brain surgeon

Just randomly going back to ME, i recall how both Johnny and Ant made commentary both backstage and during the show on the state of TV in 1996..... and can anyone remind me, was there anything particuarly shocking or awful around in 96? This is was pre-reality TV, pre-South Park (funny though it is/was).....

Xena was good. A curse on you and all your kin if you say otherwise.

Just randomly going back to ME, i recall how both Johnny and Ant made commentary both backstage and during the show on the state of TV in 1996... I only remember the bit where John says something like "you can say anything you like on the telly these days" and Anthony says "yes, sadly". Xena rocked! Especially her wonderfully fake American accent ;D They used to film it (and Hercules) just up the road from my parent's house, made for some interesting sights when you drove up that way (not that we were spying or anything!!!

I'm not saying Xena was bad; just the Christmas special.

Now I feel like watching Xena. Damn. Resist, resist ;D! It won't be as good as you remember.. but there are quite a lot of Xena episodes on YT if you simply must see it.

I used to love that show, but watching the old episodes now is just painful, and the new series is coma inducing. The only show that I still enjoy just as much now as I did when I was little is Captain Planet XD

But Power Rangers Witch I don't recommend.

Xena and Hercules must have done quite a lot for the NZ economy. farmgirlnz - I used to like Hercules sidekick better than Hercules himself - can't remember the name of the actor though - Jennifer Ward-Leland's husband.

Michael Hurst, lovely man (got to meet him once), quite short though (well, shorter than me!). Very funny, makes you feel really at ease. I loved Aries, the God of War, played by Kevin Smith (RIP Kevin ) - now that was an outfit to compete with Roy's Sherriff kit! When I was a teenager, oh so many moons ago, I saw a play called "Ladies Night" and Kevin (along with several actors who weren't stars then but are now) each did a strip - I think all gorgeous actors (and maybe singers too!) should have to do that at the end of shows! ;D They even danced out into the audience wearing not much at all!

Kevin was gorgeous, such a loss. I never saw Ladies Night - now I wish I had. Who were the other actors in it? Did you ever see Rocky Horror Show with Craig Parker as the narrator? I have mentioned it on here before, but the final scene with him wearing fishnet tights, gstring and stilletos was magnificent!

Actually, the only one I can remember was this gorgeous blue-eyed babe, who is now Dr Chris Warner ;D (Michael Galvin) - I'm so old! The others have gone flying out of my head, will see if I can find the programme.

Oh God I go away for a week and miss everything! I had no idea there wasn't a TME thread! One of my favourite concerts. Just really fun, entertaining and but of course, Ant is in it! I have been looking for years for a copy. All I have is a pathetic, old, getting ruined from overuse tape of TME that my mum taped off TV. I have had the same problem farmgirlnz. Ebay always seems to hate me!

I was watching TME today - actually, I watch it most days. It's my default DVD - it lives in the DVD player, and when there's nothing going on I turn it on for background noise.... anyway, I'm distracting myself again.... What I was going to say, before my rambling started: does anyone else think that Warlow's suit looks several sizes too big for him? *hides from expected retribution *
