Since I looked yesterday the Annie team have announced: "The cast of Annie will be performing at the Carols in the Domain" - and a young girl playing one of the orphans said "we'll be performing a Christmas scene from Annie and probably sing some other carols." It's on Channel 7 at 8.30 tonight. (That's Sydney time of course.)

Thanks for the information, cynthia! So I presume Anthony is very likely to perform too?

No way of knowing Windbelle, he isn't mentioned in the announcement, but then neither is anyone else. We can hope though!

It was very good - the whole night was great ... except I couldn't see Ant at the end with everyone else singing to wrap it up. Did anyone else see if he was still there? I noticed most of the kids from Annie were still singing their little hearts out.

.... I checked out the website and couldn't see Warlow mentioned, so I watched Going Postal instead. Kicking myself now.
What did he/they sing?

@ Fredus - sorry, can't remember. I haven't seen the musical so didn't recognise it but the entire cast was there...

@ Fred it's repeated on Saturday. I recorded it but the transmission hiccuped just as it started so I'll do it again on Saturday. Let me know if you need a copy.

Fredus, they sang 'A New Deal for Christmas', ending with a gift-wrapped Sandy (the dog). Jemasjottings, I didn't see Anthony in the finale either, but that and many other segments (so far not the Annie one) are now on YouTube and actually I can't spot any of them at the end - you must have sharper or quicker eyes than me! It seems to have been a very late addition to the programme, I only saw it when the Annie people put it on their facebook page the day before. I thought it hadn't made it to the event site at all, but have since found five words buried in the Fairies announcement (which didn't interest me so I didn't read it) just a day or so before exactly like this: "Joining The Fairies on the Carols stage to entertain the kids are Justine Clarke,Toybox, the entire cast of Annie, Justice Crew, Jay Lagai'aia and Santa Claus himself is making a guest appearance all the way from the North Pole". Characterwise it may well have been the entire cast, but if so apart from Anthony, and I think Julie, I'd say the adults weren't the leads. The man playing Roosevelt wasn't Alan Jones, and I couldn't pick Nancy Hayes; Todd McKenney and Chloe Dallimore weren't in it, they did an unrelated song and dance routine earlier. Incidentally I wonder if anyone else saw in the President a likeness to someone in Dr Z? - I'll have to get the programme out to try and see who he reminded me of. Mazza, I got that glitch at the beginning of Annie too so hopefully Channel 7 got a recording without it. They are kindly putting it on again at the same time, I believe, as the Melbourne carols! Well not exactly the same time but there will be a substantial overlap.

@ Cynthia I'm sure it was Tony Farrell. He was Anthony's second understudy in DrZ and played the Blooded Soldier who shot Gints and started the song "Blood on the Snow". He also played one of the members of the hospital board and one of the people on the judgement panel that condemn Pasha to death.

Oh yes Mazza! And now you've reminded me that on the Annie Facebook page there are some rehearsal photos which show him very clearly. In fact in one with him and Chloe plus another man, there are two blonde girls who could also have been in Zhivago - Emma Hawthorne and Stephanie Silcock, and in another where some are sitting at a desk and Annie is standing on it, there's someone who has a look of Luke. Maybe I'm just thinking about Dr Z too much but have a look yourself.

@ Cynthia - yes, I got my info about 'the entire cast' from the same article you've quoted but I must admit I wondered where the others all were. The only reason I realised Anthony was probably going to be on it was because on the Channel Seven News the night before they did a crossover to the rehearsals for the Carols to get people to send good wishes to Molly Meldrum and Anthony added his well-wishes to the segment. And you're right about the DZ connection - I found this on Stage Whispers: "The ensemble cast includes Lisa Bluthal, Tony Farrell, Anna Freeland, Todd Goddard, Emma Hawthorne, Luke Joslin, Jayde Kirchert, James Lee, Samantha Riley, Stephanie Silcock, Brianne Turk, Rod Waterworth, Jack Webster and Matt Young." So DZ is very well represented. And to update what Lucy Maunder has been doing lately - she was performing at "The Basement" last night (21 Dec 2011) in: "David Raleigh (USA) and Friends - A New York Christmas. New York City entertainer and bon vivant David Raleigh teams up with cream of Aussie cabaret, including Bobby Fox (Jersey Boys), Trevor Ashley (Hairspray), Sally Cameron (The Idea of North), Lucy Maunder (Dr Zhivago),super diva Margi De Ferranti, piano-pop songwriter Nathan Leigh Jones and some very special guests! With each artist performing on behalf their own favorite charity, this one-off special event promises to be one of the most magical nights of the season." So her wonderful talent is still being enjoyed by many. @ Mazza and Cynthia - Hope the segment on Saturday night is clear so you can enjoy him in all his glory!

Well done finding that list of the ensemble! I actually did spot Todd Goddard as well after I'd logged off last time but didn't have time to go in again. And I hadn't seen about Lucy's appearance at the Basement, but she is also in this: www.apoconcerts.com.au/nye-2011/

Thanks for that, Cynthia! Would love to go but unfortunately will be up here in the Sunshine State for New Years. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a great 2012 - and that we'll get to see Anthony somewhere through the year - and hopefully somehow a cast recording for DZ will finally be produced somewhere!

I'll go scope that out, Cynthia, thanks. Unfortunately, we won't be able to see the replay. We're going to be at Marie-Cris' parents house and, while they might watch it, we can't exactly tell them what to watch on their own telly, so if they want to watch something else... Mazza, I would love a recording, but it depends what kind of recording... we have fairly limited technology in this house.

Thanks a bunch for the link, Cynthia! Great to see Anthony perform on TV again, though I wish he had done a solo.
