I follow quite a few West End performers on Twitter and yesterday there was mention of an argument that a couple of audience members had during "Notes" in Phantom which resulted in them being kicked out of the theatre!
This made me think of some other rude / annoying / funny things that I have seen audience members do and thought it would be fun if we had a thread to share some of our memorable audience moments.
One of the rudest moments I can think of is when we got told to sit down when we were giving a standing ovation at the final Phantom in Auckland. This included them tugging on our dresses! So rude...

I don't know about other audience members, but the second time I went to see Phantom I took a friend who decided to tell me (very loudly) about how much she loved the movie ... I was cringing rather and desperately hoping there were no US members sitting near us. And, from the other point of view, that poor woman who had to sit next to me at Dr Zhivago must have a lot to say about random nutters in the audience.

Oh dear... I still don't get why people like the movie so much.
Another bad audience moment was at the opening weekend of Zhivago when a woman called out "how dare you!" when they announced that Anthony had injured himself and wouldn't be performing.
A cute moment was at Phantom in London when this little girl was looking all around the theatre as the Phantom read out his notes. She was so adorable!

A bad moment was when my mother got a booster cushion from an usher because she was concerned I wouldn't be able to see.
I was 19.

^ I don't know why your post reminded me of it, but I just remembered something that happened in high school... one of my friends had a rather serious problem with her hips and as a result she was extremely short - and very sensitive about it. We were sitting in ... I can't remember what it was, but it was some kind of travelling show thing like schools get sometimes, and a couple of very tall boys sat in front of us. I leant over and asked her if she could see because I couldn't, and she hit me. Apparently she thought I was implying she was too short to see over the seats. Ouch. (Sorry for the rambling aside there). Didn't I hear someone say that after Trial By Jury, people were complaining that Anthony wasn't in it? Not recognising Warlow probably counts as another bad audience moment.
