There's alot of strong performers nominated throughout- there'll be a few close ones! Phantom's strongly represented, which is phantastic!

I have Foxtel, just not in HD or widescreen. Just bombard me with messages before the show to remind me to record it (never remember these types of things).

Aw, poor Ant. We love him anyway! And Ana! She deserved a win too! *fingers crossed for Phantom and Jackie*

Hopefully both will win and slip out of the Billy Elliot wave that seems to be sweeping the ceremony.

No luck for Phantom tonight boohoo only 4 hightlights of the night for me 1.When they read out Anthony name as a nominee and showed his pic SQUEEEEE 2.When the Phantom cast (without Anth)sang Masquerade 3.Vanessa Amarossi sang Perfect 4.My Fair Lady cast did a medley of songs

Gagh...... Phantom didn't get anything!!! Although I spent the majority of the night pondering if we would see ANY Anthony... momentary delight as we saw his pic... was hoping to see REAL Ant....nudda. Darn Billy Elliott cleaned up... the only consolation was 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' got best play (it was the most amazing demented thing I have ever seen). We did see the main Phantom cast in Masquarade, and was waiting with baited breath for Ant to appear... only to get the ditzy host.. such disappointment!

So not even Jackie picked something up? Blasphemers. Those judges are deaf and blind!

If Anthony wasn't there, one would think that maybe roy or simon should have at least made an appearance sometime during the awards considering it is PHANTOM of the opera being nominated.. I'm baffled by the whole show and disappointed

Well at least Clem has a little sense ...
Good grief, that last paragraph.

Is it me? Why do I get the feeling that he doesn't quite concur with judge's decision about letting those boys win? ...and yes, that last paragraph.

I reckon he wasn't to happy with the results. which I kind of understand. Billy Elliot is a great musical, but I wouldn't have said that the Boys were better than the other nominees.

My friend saw Phantom with me but doesn't really care about the outside... craziness and when I told her that Anthony Warlow was beaten by the little boys from Billy Elliot her immediate response was: "That's BS!"
You heard it from an unbiased source people.

Well, I can understand the boys beating Anthony: they're new talent and the Helpmanns probably wanted to acknowledge up-and-coming actors. Ant is Australia's golden boy when it comes to the stage. He's received countless accolades and even when he doesn't officially win he still has the respect attributed to a world-class performer. That's more important than a trophy.
I'm more disappointed that people like Ana and Jackie missed out. Surely their performances were more worthy than their competitors'. It's harsh that Phantom didn't pick up a single thing.

Phools...POTO didn't pick up a single thing? Now I'm kinda glad I didn't watch it. Was anybody from Phantom there? Imagine if instead of performaing Masquerade, Ant came and did Past the Point of No Return ...surely that would get an award of some kind!
