i had this thought that we could get members of US to spend one day in their capital city gathering signatures! i call it the Phantom of the Opera signature hunt! i even had this idea to make a tshirt with the Phantom of the Opera - Australian Cast Recording on it. i would definitely get involved if people thought it was something that would work. i reckon if i went into the centre of Melbourne with a clipboard, wearing that tshirt, i could get a decent amount of signatures!!!. imagine the impact it would have to the petition if people from other states did the same thing!
lets hope people like this idea!
let me know what u think

There will be a few hitches with this, of course; for one, not everyone can get to their state capital.
Actually that's the only hitch I can think of at the moment as my mind is worrying about Databases and a million other boring things for TAFE.
Anyone else?

Sounds good in theory, but I figure the best place to get sigs is at theatres (as the theatrically minded usually go there ) and I'd feel weird standing outside Wicked asking for Phantom sigs. Although, I'd willingly accost people in Burke Street- with backup! It was just so much easier when Phantom was in Melb....

Rundle Mall is a bit like Bourke; only shorter, no trams running through it, and on a flat piece of land.
And a bit more compacted width wise.

^ So it's not actually like Burke? Maybe you should try and hit up Adelaide, and I'll hit up Melb- after all, I need to do something with my summer holidays besides hassling Marriners for a job!

It's still got shops!! And two silver balls in front of Borders. And brass pigs for some reason. That is if I ever get down to Adelaide; 2 and a half hours' is a long way to drive ((especially since petrol only just dropped to 1.55 here)) and we don't go down that often. When we do we usually don't spend the day meandering around Rundle Mall ((it's usually off to some scrapbooking places and then we go home)).

Well, I have to go to Canberra occasionally to visit home, I'd be willing to wander around begging for signatures. However, me being me, I couldn't do it by myself. Too much of a wuss. However, if any Canberrans wanted to meet up, that could be entertaining. Though, it would have to be a weekend as I'm 3 hours away. And I'd need enough warning that I could convince my brother to let me invade his house again.....

I wooooulld... but the Irish are close minded fools... We sadly have a rather small musical theatre scene here but I will def try to gather as many sigs as I can

You know what? I miss the sig hunts (hell, I miss Phantom in Melbourne! So much...) so give me two weeks to finish off my exams and then I'll do some hunting, both in the Rat and Melb.

ok then well to any fellow melbournian members, if u email me at nolly_84@hotmail.com and let me know when u r free within possibly the 3rd or 4th week of november, we'll get our heads together and converge on the city of melbourne for people to sign the petition. each signature will benefit the overall result. i strongly urge the members of US who have a little time to at least get something written up and maybe within the next few days ill write something as a main petition note and post it. this little project has support already so i hope that if and when we do this, we can make a bit of an impact. Australia join together for the Phantom Australian Cast Petition!!!!
