We all would have heard by now that Anthony Warlow's official website has shut down; possibly due to lack of domain payment, or otherwise. Despite the fact that it had been poorly mended for several years', it is a shame to see the official site shut down. However, this could be an opportunity to start afresh. Now I have no idea about running a paid domain; I don't know of prices, I know very little html ((but I'm learning)), and what's more I don't have any official authority due to my non-existent nature in the life of Anthony Warlow (( *thud* )). However I am considering the fact that should he get an official website ever again, perhaps he could use a free web hosting domain? A free domain ((like this one)) could solve payment problems. On the other hand, the ads that'll litter the place could get irksome. And there's still the fact of management; who's going to design and run it? Will he find a friend of his to do it, or a workmate - someone involved in his social circles who knows what's going on and can make updates? I'm just looking at options here. I wish with all my heart I could help him out with running the site ((that way I could link it to this forum and get him to visit now and again! XD )), but that would mean I would have to somehow introduce myself to THE GREAT ANTHONY WARLOW and earn his trust enough to help with his website - that's some feat considering I live in South Australia! So what does everyone think about the closure of his site? Anything anyone wants to discuss? |

I actually wasn't aware that it had closed down (shame on me!!! *SMACK* - no, not you Mr. Whippy) but i think that's a right shame... even though so many of my visits had found nothing much on the site, as it hadn't been updated in so long. As to what we can do to help, i don't think we can really do anything except mourn and hope that something new can some up and soon.... i'm not sure if there is any other option really. I wish there were though..... *sits and ponders... hard... finds her head starts to hurt*

Well as regards to official site, it's purely up to him now. But I think the domain payment is not the point. I mean I don't think he is short of money to pay the charge if he really cares the site. It won't help much either to transfer the website to a free domain if he keeps forgetting about it. I don't know much about the free domain services but I have the impression that usually they're not adequate enough to keep a decent official website.
I really can't say. But as the coming season of Phantom, it's better to have his website alive for the sake of promoting.

When it came back, it was updated with his two new albums information. Hope it will come back soon with new stuff again. However, I doubt he would has the time to do it in a short time with the coming season of Phantom.  I think the production company of Phantom should help with it. |

Hi I haven't been around here much but allow me to contribute my $0.02 to this discussion. It is a real shame that Anthony's site is down, but there isn't much we can do about it. Using a free domain is not an option I would recommend, first of all because it is an official site and should have its original domain name (i.e. "anthonywarlow.com" instead of "anthonywarlow.googlepages.com"). Free sites also give you only a very limited amount of space for files... usually only up to 100MB. This means that you cannot upload many big photos and stuff. That would suck because I want lots of pictures! lol Ads are something that should really be avoided in an official site, and almost all free hosting services come with some form of advertisement. Imagine the horror of Anthony's face getting blocked by a flashing fake-virus-warning ad!!  I agree that Anthony is at this moment very busy with Phantom and has other things to worry about. So we'll just have to sit back and hope that, like Buff has said, the site will come back again with new info! |

If there is something you would like to see on Anthony's old website, it can be accessed using this really cool website that brings up old websites in their archive. www.archive.org/web/web.phpIn it, you type the URL of the website which you want to see which we all know is www.anthonywarlow.com.au and it will bring up various pages in their archive. |

well, if need be he could use www.fan-sites.org as a domain for his official site. im pretty sure it doesn't cost anything (unless iv read it wrong) besides having a couple of appropriate advertisements that he could choose to hav on the site.. all he'd have to do is update it regularly which would be easier for him to do then a fan.. and whats good about it is it will be in a fan site directory so any fan who is looking for an Ant site would find it easy. but that would obviously b up to him and obviously the PotO production would take up about 95% of his time atleast soo i dont no. the other thing is we could all set up a fan-site for him (on fan-sites.org) and all donate and share our info, media and photos etc so not only will we have more files and that to share but we'll be able to update things and share stuff about him.. also i said it would b listed on the fan-site directory so it would be more prone to being seen by other fans and so on and so forth.. and would make the Anthony Warlow community alot larger. it would also promote Ant at the same so that would be good aswell. not that any of u guys would want to take on that responsiblity but i couldnt do it by myself, not havin all the sources, files, media and info u guys would want but as a team i think we could do it! it wuld take a bit of work though but wer dedicated ppl arnt we!  lol but thats just somin to consider u can check it out if u want at - www.fan-sites.organd just for an example of what we could do here are some sites i like that are on f-s.org - ultimate-johnny.org/www.danielradcliffefan.net/matthew-fox.net/lost-media.comg-butler.org/potc-online.net/are just a few of my favourites. but u no our Ant one would def top the list! |

Yes, gizelmo, when I was talking to him in April he said that he had closed his other site because porn sites had infiltrated it and some peoples' comments had made him very uncomfortable and he won't let anything tarnish his reputation.
He told me that he was currently working on a new official site which would be secure so he would have the say-so on anything associated with it. He said it would have a "store" where people could purchase his CDs etc, as well as pages officially announcing shows he's in etc.
We managed to have a good talk about it, and other things which have been posted on the web about him which he was very disappointed with. He stressed that he hates anything sleazy said about him as he's very protective of his reputation, which I fully understand, and is careful of anything he puts his name to.
From what he was saying it sounds like the site will be very informative and with him monitoring it carefully.
Can't wait till it's up and running!

Huh, he told me the same thing about his site in 08. Only then he wasn't too sure if he wanted to work on putting a site back up, since it was taking a lot for him to try and monitor. Well, good on him! I've noticed Face The Music is on there ... Maybe he investigated it further after my run-in with him? Tenor & Baritone, Snow Goose ... So maybe those of US out there who still don't have those will be able to pick up some copies. The site's looking rather good so far. Oh, and two people have liked his first (blank) post. And now there's three. Sleazy, huh? Perhaps we need to tone it down here a bit. |

Looks great - exactly what he said it would contain. Can't wait to purchase The Snow Goose - have looked everywhere for that with no luck. We had an old 78 LP recording when I was a little girl and I cried every time. Can't wait to hear his version. And it's now officially out there on Twitter and FB - so exciting... And Mars, yep, he actually did say that a long time ago he would sometimes come on this site just to see what people were saying about him but stopped when he saw all the sleaze  He was really upset that people were putting that sort of thing out there because he has very strong feelings about personal comments and won't compromise his reputation - and that it also could affect his family. (I wasn't going to say anything on here, but seeing you've asked I thought you've given me the opening to say what he told me.) He also said it was hard to negotiate - too many threads and he kept getting lost! Oh, and the other thing he said was he's a bit worried about having other performers mentioned on a site dedicated to him because if anything detrimental to them is put up, it reflects back on him. I assured him that anything I've read about anyone else on here has been very positive, but he hoped that people would always show respect for others with their comments. He said there's enough sleaze in the world without it being on here as well! Anyway, sorry if I've upset anyone but seeing this is a site dedicated to him I figure we should respect his wishes - and maybe he'll start coming back on again! |

poppy - yeah, I understand what you mean and I wasn't going to say anything except for Mars' comment. I promise I'm only relaying what he said about the site, not trying to cause a problem, but I thought it was better we all know seeing we admire him so much. But he really was disappointed - and even though he knows people have their own opinion, if something's said that he feels misrepresents him or degrades him in even the slightest way he won't come back - not normal "fun" but what people would like to do to him and it starts getting into "muddy waters". The last time he was on was a few years ago and there were a few threads he was disappointed with. He's worried that Phoebe might come on and see them because he's very protective of her - as well as his integrity. I tried to assure him that I was sure it was meant tongue in cheek and he understood but he still didn't like them. That's when he told me about his own site closing down. And from the way he was explaining it, I really could see his point of view. He wasn't angry, more disappointed. And then we got onto other topics that made him smile - and me too - and about five minutes later he left with a big hug and a lovely sentiment that really blessed my socks off

It's wonderful to see how considerate Anthony is of his family. I truly admire and respect how adamant he is about upholding his integrity. I think it's also an important reminder about internet etiquette and general respect for others, regardless of anonymity (which people tend to think shields them from any consequences, but it's just not an excuse to be rude). Please note that I'm not referring to anything that goes on here, but to the general on-goings of cyberspace. Now I'm just hoping I'm not being completely hypocritical in having made any prior inappropriate comments..  |

Grrr - I just wrote several paragraphs and when I went "post reply" I got a message saying the website is too busy!! and everything went poof! So I will have to try and remember what I said.
Some years ago I saw a post on here that I was horrified about. I contacted one of the "popular" older members and asked her to do something about it, but it never got removed or edited and still is here as far as I know. This post was by a young member who no longer contributes and the way it could be read was quite nasty. People have got to realise that they have to read and reread their posts to make sure they read correctly. Unfortunately these days there is not much chance of keeping your family sheltered or innocent as nearly every teenager has access to social media and can find out things very quickly.
I do think and have always thought that people in the public eye whether they be entertainers, politicians or whatever, have to realise that people are going to say things about them - complimentary or otherwise. This is a fact of life.
And about other entertainers on this site - as far as I can remember everyone has always said nice things about them, certainly nothing that could reflect back on Anthony. I know I did say that I can't stand Bert Newton, but that is just my opinion and I didn't say anything rude. We all have things we love (in my case Jersey Boys!) that other people don"t like - isn't that right Poppy!!
Apart from the post mentioned above I can't recall anything that could be considered sleazy, just posts that are fun and make us all laugh. Lets just hope we can keep on making each other laugh!
