I just noticed there wasn't a thread discussing OA's 1997 'Die Fledermaus' and wondered what you all thought of it?

I can't believe we forgot to make one! *thud*
I adore Die Fledermaus, I'm always singing something from it these days ((when I'm not singing carols for choir ... shoot, I have another rehearsal tonight XD)). I find him rather adorable with the moustache ((yes, applies to Captain Corcoran too)) and the hilarious French play in Act II ... It's gorgeous. Wonderful cast, set, and all that jazz. I did notice a bit of an editing error in Act I but that's just like me to look out for those things.

Die Fledermaus was the first thing (other than CD's) of Ant's that I owned. I got a VHS copy long, long ago... I think I kinda wore out the tape , so now I have it on DVD... so much better! I just love his 'Top Hat 'n Tails'... *toast*

My Boxing Day consisted of cricket, yachting, leftovers, dozing on the couch and watching Fledermaus twice. I hope that's what heaven is like!!!! I just love the Fench accent - a cross between Pepe Le Pew and Gerard Depardieu!!! And the dancing, and the acting, and the dinner suit, and the singing. I could go on for ever!!! I then watched Patience and had some very disturbed dreams next time I dozed!!!!

And did those dreams consist of an adorable man in pink tights singing in a cute french accent???

I did notice a bit of an editing error in Act I but that's just like me to look out for those things. Would that be during the "done the harm, done the harm, done the harm" bit where they're passing the briefcase and in switching camera angles they go back a few seconds so a line and move is repeated? Or did I imagine that? Fledermaus is something I can just watch over and over again, always laughing at the same jokes and (sadly) singing and acting along with it. What is it about Patience that makes it seep into your brain and never leave? XD

The pink TIGHTS for one ...
And yes, the "done the harm" bit. I suppose it's good to know they do recordings on different nights too.
"Les vine! No ... Les vine! Les table! Les Miserables!"

It's so incredible how he can pull off being an Australian playing an American, but then effortlessly make us believe he's an American pretending to be French... amazing...

One of the joys of the theatrical world ...
Damn, I've got Post Performance Syndrome again.

I've got a craving to be back on the stage, but dance classes for 08 don't start for another month...

Thanks to everyone getting me to think about Warlow in the naughty ways we are ((it started off with a girl called Molly on a Rocky Horror forum ... after my constant talking of pink TIGHTS)), there's one line in Die Fledermaus that I can't think about without cracking up.
"You'll come, then?" "How can I resist? I would love to - "
I don't think I need to say it; particularly since he holds it for a few seconds.
Not IT as in - oh, shut up! *hides*
