Umm, I think I'm stuck. Let me fill you in on what I had planned: I want to send a copy of this petition - or a url link and maybe directions to the first page of this thread - and an explanation letter off to somebody with influence, but the only person I could think of is Andrew Lloyd Webber himself. I have a contact address for him, yes, but should I really send a letter to him? And what does one say to Sir Webber? It's possible there's very little chance my letter would actually reach him. Would he care? Would he take notice? Who else, though, could I send a letter off to? ... I'm going to tinker around with letter ideas with a bit. *shrug* It has to go to someone, doesn't it? EDIT: Save the address, the greeting and the salutation, this is what I have so far:
To Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, I write to you on behalf of Phantom of the Opera fans around the world, and members of Unexpected Song: Celebrating the Life of Anthony Warlow. As a fan of your good self, your talents, and Anthony Warlow, I am compelled to write to inform you of an ongoing online petition to release an Australian Cast Recording and / or Filmed Stage Performance of the current Phantom of the Opera production in Australia. Whilst I, better known as Marie-Cris, hold no official title in the world of the performing arts save that of an aspiring performer, I, along with the global populace that has thus signed, would love for there to be at least an Australian Cast Recording of Phantom of the Opera, and as Anthony Warlow currently dons the mask here, everyone so far has agreed that he would be the perfect driving force in an Australian Cast Recording. Admittedly, it would be delightful to see an official DVD release of his current performance …
I know, horrid.

Well, I think if you can get it to the Princess Theatre by Dec 1, you might have a chance at having it handed to him and in the presence of Anthony, who would hopefully get his part right and say "What a grand idea Sir Lloyd Webber when shall we start" (Anthony thought bubble - immortalised forever ahhh the plan comes together) www.last.fm/event/340757I think someone in Melbourne needs to take this on as a personal challenge don't ya think?

Marie-Cris I think its awesome!! It would definitely persuade me. Then again, it doesn't take a lto to persuade me.. especially if there is chocolate involved.. or anthony. but it still sounds REALLY good anyway!!! good job!! lets hope it works!! *fingers crossed* emony what an awesome idea!!! i wish i could come up with ideas like that! lol but yeahh awesome idea then Sir Lloyd Webber will be under pressure! he he! lol great idea! hope it works! oh and i mit beable to get my sub petition back tomoro! hopefully there is about 30 signatures on ther!

Problem is, the times I'm going are next week ((*SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!*)) and in Jan just before it takes off on the tour. Oh, bugger!! Either I find a way to finish this letter and send it off to him ASAP, someone in the Melbourne area will need to go on a bit of a trip and shove it in his face if necessary, or we'll miss a chance!!
Man, I hate deadlines!! I can't think!! Finish the letter, brain!!

I've posted in "his" MySpace page - again - Oh bugger, my post was too big, it cut off half my information ... I've posted in the bulletin box - again. I could probably go for all-out Spammage on every profile of everyone who's ever added me, pot a notice in LJ, maybe another notice in the Yahoo! group and maybe even Facebook ... I didn't want to tell anyone for fear of being unsuccessful, but I had / have the plan to somehow slip a note to Anthony Warlow or someone at the Princess who can hand it to him and inform him of the petition. Damn risky stuff but I've written that letter anyway and will bring it with me next week, just in case the gods smile on me for once. If I can get that note to him, or if someone there can pass it to him, perhaps - and I know I'm dreaming but I'm desperately hoping with my life here - he could mention it to Sir Webber? And then if you - or anyone who is able to - do / does get the letter and the current most recently updated petition ((at that point)) to him on the 1st, our chances would improve if but slightly, wouldn't they? I want it so much it hurts.

O.K. Not sure how successful this would be or how regularly it would be checked, or by who.....but you could try this: www.anamarina.com/contact.htmor alternatively, isn't there a poster here who is an usher at The Princess? Other primary, but lesser known cast members may have websites that they check personally every so often...rather than have staff or agency check... just a thought.

There is a poster who does ush work there, I just can't remember who I was thinking of them but couldn't place a name. I'll do a forum search and see if I can find them, if they haven't been on in a while I'll send them an e-mail. Thank you for the link; I'll try and get my brain to think less erratically ((it's going bonkers atm)) and think of something suitable to post. Something convincing. Hopefully. EDIT: That Really Useful Group link holds the contact address I was going to send the letter to. XD

Good Luck I guess the goal is to get the idea circulating through the cast and crew.....it will reach someone who decides whether to take these things to a development stage. I've no doubt it's not a new topic of conversation, but if it's known that there is interest out here....

That's why I was hoping to get a note to Anthony. As tempted as I was to gush and fawn when I wrote it, I withheld myself and kept it strictly on business terms.
Until the end of the letter.
ANYWAY, I found out who the usher is! Cirque! I haven't seen cirque on here for ages though. And I know Greg's in the Melbourne area but he was only on for a few minutes before. Perhaps I should start dropping lines?
Oh gawd, how to mention this to Ana Marina without sounding like a prat or a stuffed shirt. *thud* nvm, nvm, I'll think of something.
EDIT: I did it, I posted. I sounded like a twit, but I posted.
And knicked two smilies in the process.

Ok, just joined the forum, but I'm adding my name to the petition.
By the way, will be trying to talk to Anthony next time I go to see the show, sometime in the next couple of weeks (seen the show 4 times already, 2x with Anthony as Eric!)

Hi Marie-Cris, Though I am in Melbourne I don't think I can help you before you get here. I am going Sunday but from the other posters on this board, it is highly unlikey that Anthony will perform since a) its his birthday and b) he has not performed for the past 6 Sundays.
On the night of December 1st I am actually working at the National Basketball League game for Melbourne Tigers so will not even get a chance to pass by the theatre.
If we could track down how Anthony leaves the theatre, you may be able to give it to him yourself.
