Mother, on the other hand ... ((and she calls herself a Warlow fan?! HA!))

Don't know if this helps or not, Mar & Phantasy, but I look back on things I have and haven't done in my life and I don't regret ever having spent money to see a show or travel somewhere or take the oppurtunity to spend time with friends and family. The only real regrets I have in life are NOT having done things because I put work, and other people's opinions and bank balance first!! (Like not demanding two days off so I could fly to Sydney to see Pirates - I will regret that missed oppurtunity for ever). As they say in the classics, you are a long time dead and heaven is littered with people who put things off until they could afford it!!!! *glomp*

aaww thanx sanderella. *glomp* the worst thing is to regret something you didnt do then regretting something u did do. if that makes sense. see i would definitely regret not going up to Ant and talking to him if I had the chance. even if i embarrassed myself so much it wasn't funny and he'd be looking at me as if were a complete lunatic I'd still be over the moon that I had the guts to talk to him and that I actually met him. lol *sleepy* dream on.. lol

Just got home from a very traditional Hobart Christmas Week evening. Down at the docks watching Sydney/Hobart and Melbourne/Hobart yachts finish and then to the Taste of Tasmania which is held from 28 December to Jan 3 every year in a HUGE old shed by the docks. It is a food and wine festival which showcases local fish, meat, berries, seafood, cheeses, game, wine and beer. There are over 75 stalls and indoor and outdoor seating for thousands and it is the best fun with buskers and different sound stages around the venue, and if you sit there long enough you see practically everyone you know, plus every sailor who has made the trip south!! Heaps of different food styles are represented, from Peruvian to African, Turkish to Vietnamese, Persian to Italian and everything in between. The only requirement is that the produce is locally grown or manufactured. Tasting plates start at $6 and go up to $40 for a crayfish, oyster and chilli mussel sharing plate. Of course you have to finish with a massive plate of mixed berries and cream!! We had a great night. Ate way too much and drank too much champagne but it is the best of times in the southern capital!!! *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink* *drink*

Which mother just realised is next week and she started to panic.
Maybe there's still a touch of Warlovianism left in her.

Very quiet New Year's Eve for me! I'm on call from 7.30pm to 8 tomorrow morning so will be a dry night for me. Generally don't like New Year's Eve much. I've been to some really crappy parties in my time and been bored out of my brain waiting for midnight!!!!

Me too; thankfully no one's invited us to anything for the past few years' so we get to stay home without a horde of people poking into our private life.
Then at midnight I send out a handful of SMS' and go to bed.

Musical theatre an addiction worse than drugs, and more expensive! Wicked is gonna kill me next year... Worse than drugs I agree, but the highs are higher and you don't come down with a crash either. I've been euphoric since October and my first Ph-Ant-om experience. Probably won't kill you or bring you out in sores or make you scratch at yourself constantly either. Though I may be tempted to commit a felony or sell my body to get enough money to go again if my overtime suddenly dries up!!!!XD Addit: Not much chance of that happening! At work now and just discovered we are the only private Casualty open tonight. Other major private hospital is not accepting patients due to a lack of doctors!! Just done two cases with prspect of more to come. Thank God for us!!!!

You must go to Middle Eight Music in South Yarra and the ABC shop in the city while you are there Mar. (You could pick up Pirates - not actually "pick them up" but purchase it! - and drool over all the wonderful show albums Max has!!!! I spent an hour there!)
Only three weeks left till my Phantom shows!!!! YAAAAAAY

Perhaps ... or I could get my sister to get it for me as she promised to get my Christmas present on this trip. XD I've got to get something for mum while we're down there too. I'll have to do it Tuesday as I'll be busy on Wednesday and I don't know what we're doing Wednesday night ... drat, I've forgotten the name of that restaurant!

Grossi Florentini. Top of Bourke St. Head down Little Bourke Street from your hotel, left along one of the little alleyways towards Bourke St, then right down Bourke St and you'll see it on your right. Has outside tables and is next to a noodle bar called Nubar (also frequented by POTO people between shows). Other good place is Ant's Tea House (how appropriate!!) which is on right hand side up little lane way as you go down Little Bourke St. Go down little Bourke, passed the Theatre where Spamalot is playing, passed the Chinese Arch and keep going till you see a vacant block which is used as a car park. You will see a Red Ant on the wall and it's a little way down the lane on the left.

EDIT: Damn computer posted my post before I was finished!
As I was saying, there's 6 days to go now. 7 for the one on my own. And apparently we're not leaving til early FRIDAY morning, so that means we've got the whole of Thursday to roam Melbourne ((mum and L.A. will have the whole of Wednesday too, of course)).

Oh how exciting! Its even better the second time round!! I’m thinking of going back for my fourth… yep getting a little addicted I think.
Do you have any plans for what to do in Melbourne? If you get time, have a look through the Art Gallery and Museum, you will love them. The art gallery is free and has some of the most beautiful art, they even have some works by Picasso. There is a free City Circle Tram that will take you straight there. Also, if you like waffles you HAVE to try Waffle On in Degraves Street (a little laneway of café’s off Flinders Street). They are cheap and have the best waffles I have ever tried. At the recommendation of Sanderalla (thank you!!) I had dinner at Grossi Florentini the other night and she was right, the food is wonderful (the Tortellini is to die for…the best). For desert, Acland Street in St Kilda is great for coffee and cake and if you hang around til night time you can walk along the pier and see the penguins come out.
Sorry if I’m sounding like a travel agent but I love my city and when I hear that people are visiting it I get a little over excited because I want them to love it too!
