Alas for me, I have no live show to see in the near future. But my DVD of South Pacific Concert is about to come soon, hopefully, with some other stuff I've ordered online. It has Brian Stokes Mitchell as Emile, another great baritone on broadway.
When I'm low I'll stick to some of my favorite things--Anthony's albums and G&S stuff-- to escape from those vexing stuff for a moment. Thank you Anthony.

Not a bad idea, I should slap on a Warlow CD. Lol ever since I downloaded the lastfm scrobbler I've been at the top of the Warlow listening list. MWUA HA they can't catch me, and I've only got 7 CDs ... ((8 counting the highlights from Les Miz))
EDIT: Ooh, and I want Warlow cake!
PS: NEW SMILIES! XD *hides* *thud*

Cooking isn't compulsarary ((no I can't spell)) after Year' 8. You either chose to do the Home Ecenomics or you didn't. I did it all the way through but we didn't exactly had exams for it ((they didn't feel like exams, and no one called them exams)). All we did was prepare dishes, maybe do the odd write up and that was it. I know you asked neh, but the situation could very well be the same.

?
We did assignments like multicultural dishes, serving to foreigners, simple stuff like that. And in class we made easy stuff: Souffles, stir fries, cakes and whatnot. It's only a country-town high school.
And ask neh

Me??? I don't cook; no no no. I help out my mum when i can, but i'm best left far far away from the kitchen when cooking is required... i'm more the aftermath lady - as in, i clean up!

I only said it because the original question was directed at you and I stuck my nose into the conversation before you had the chance to reply
EDIT: Why is it that as soon as it gets hot again down here sensei decides to start class again? I'm freakin boiling in my dogi! And although I'm curious to see how the construction went on our new training area, I'm doubtful those old air conditioners would work ((it was a church hall, after all, and you know how it's like in those things))
And I'm scared. My second lesson since getting my orange belt and I'm expected to know a lot more; I don't know squat!
EDIT AGAIN: That should've been in the venting thread. Oh well. 1) Got a distinction in history ((78% ain't that bad! And who else would compare the success rate of The Magic Flute to Rocky Horror but crazy ol' me? Thank you.)) 2) I just advertised the forum again on Anthony Warlow's MySpace. So it might not be actually him, but it's fun to think so. Plus a bigger possibility of more members! Yay! 3) Had something to eat. All's good. ;D

*points to modify button*
All YouTube clip links go in the YouTube section. I've heard it because I've got the broadway cast recording; frankly it doesn't hold a candle to Warlow's version imho, but there are a few good points about it. Hold that thought, I'll make a sub board in the multimedia section for miscellaneous clips - anything that's not Warlow but you still wanna show off can go in there.

You are so wise Marie.... and everything is so neatly ordered here. If it were physical placements i'd be a much better help than i am at present! I am fussy with cleaning things and making them orderly. To be on-topic, i am hopefully seeing my friends Cinta (a member of this fine forum) and Ula from Sydney on Saturday, which should be lovely. This evening they both went to see Aus Opera's Sweeney Todd, which i see in Feb.

No no, that's all right. The only way I'm ever gonna get programs is if I see the performances themselves ((which reminds me I must get some autographs this weekend!))
And we all miss her

My God, it's like a mass suicide of smileys!!! You're a sadistic sausage, miss Marie! I'll be sure to let Cinta know she is dearly missed this weekend, i promise! I can assure you her love for Ant has not and will never fade, and nor i'm sure will her affection for this forum.

Make that a Chinese sausage and I'll take that as a compliment ((I hate sausages!)) It'll probably be a "wtf" moment for her when she returns ... yeah I'm evil.
We got home from the city at about 1 last night. My. First. Opera. *SQUEEEEEEE!* It was brilliant. Dull but brilliant. XD lol I really suck at describing atmosphere. I liked it. It's not the best performance I've ever seen but it's the only professional performance I've seen live so ... I liked it. Denbigh, I gotta say I'm beginning to understand it a bit better. I'm slightly more intrigued by Hobson now that I've seen/heard him live. RANDOM FACT: David Hobson had a big grey stain on his pirate TIGHTS near his crotch. Yes Denbigh, you got me staring at his crotch. I wasn't too impressed by Campbell. Mum loved him, but it didn't blow me away ((good, not great)). Mind I was disappointed in Warlow's interpretation, so there wasn't much of a chance that Campbell would sit better in my books ((Jon English, on the other hand ... )). Tayrn Fiebig was wonderful, as I suspected she would be. Man, those notes; when you finally step out of the ensemble and get the chance to listen to the voices it's always a realisation as to how good they really are. So to hear it from professionals brought tears to my eyes. Seriously. The only awkward moment in the entire performance was after Mabel's and Frederic's departing love song. They really stunned the audience; even I paused for a moment ((and I know what it feels like to give that effect to an audience, but I'd never actually felt it for myself)). When the spell wore off and we started clapping Hobson decided he'd had enough and continued with the dialogue ((I think I may have annoyed him; whenever I'm in an audience I'm the loudest one there [unless freakin' Linda Moore is in the audience too, in which case she's the loudest]. I was laughing throughout the whole thing because I felt they deserved to have people laugh at the jokes, so I became sort of the laugh instigator. Problem is I hate my laugh. So do other people. And as I was in the 4th row, I think he heard me. He certainly cast a shadowed glance my way. I felt like a drunk)). Cat Like Tread had two encores. Capbell and Hobson started doing the can-can like the policemen behind them in the last one, and though the audience screamed for more I think Stephen Mould, the Adelaide conductor, was just sick of it and wouldn't continue. David Thelander surprised me. When he performed with us on Music on the Murray his baritone voice frightened me. But last night I found it rather ... je ne sois qua. Oh, oh, OH: And guess who was the artistic director? Timothy Sexton. Suzanne Johnston was an absolute marvel. I learnt a lot of techniques from watching her; I loved how she twitched in the face just big enough for the balcony viewers to see, but not big enough to be over exaggeration ((and that red dress! I want that dress!)). During the bow I gave her a high thumb's up when she looked my way; she winked. I would've liked to have gotten her autograph ((as well as Hobson's)) but unfortunately I didn't have the time. Speaking of autographs, look who I ran into: Big image, dial-up users ...He was such a gentleman about it; I felt like a completely loser when I ran up from behind and panted: "Mr. Olsen, may I have your autograph?" *makes L sign on forehead* My mum blurted: "She wants to perform with you one day." I never even thought of that; I just wanted his autograph! But I said I was just studying at The Con., he asked what I was studying, I said: "C-C-Class-Classical Voice", and he wished me good luck with it with a cute little wink. What was embarrasing moreso was when I was producing the program for him to sign a leaflet fell out; I had bought a program but we had also found one someone had left at the cafe bar and had picked up, and I was handing him that one. The leaflet was about menopause. *thud* Well at least there's a little story to tell Samantha Mack ((head of the VET Music studies at the Elder School of Music/Elder Conservatorium/The Con.)) when I go back to uni; she got to actually perform with him. I wish I could've seen him when he did Patience in Adelaide early last year'. Oh well. On to Music on the Murray rehearsals tomorrow night. PS: Gonna quote this entry and put it in the Close Encounters thread

Glad that you enjoyed it, Marie. I'm still hoping for the DVD.
BTW, anyone has a clue what Anthony is up to? Since he is not on the tour for this short time, I anticipated him to have other performances or something.

I thought he was just concentrating on rehearsals for Phantom at this time. *shrugs* I don't know
PS: I want the DVD too, but to be honest I'd prefer the Jon English version.
"Try doing that with a little white pointed stick."
