Getting back on topic, one from FaceBook:

2211!
THE NEXT DAY EDIT: My new battery for my video camera came in the mail today ((you may recall my battery wouldn't turn on at the LSS because the battery was cracked)), so if I gather the guts to do so, I'll see if I can do a filmed sig-hunt through Rundle Mall, starting off at the Bee Hive Corner in front of Haigh's
THE DAY AFTER THAT EDIT: Didn't go as well as I would've liked. People in the city are so cold, even when not in front of a camera ((I tried one person with the camera then decided against it, as it obviously intimidates these folk)). Asked 16 people and got two sigs, so that's a good thing at least ((sorry, no tour of the city for US; what I need is a professional camera, a professional cameraman, and a mic.)).

Some are, which is good to know. I just checked up on the group and we've an an influx of members. If I were to add all the new ones onto the petition without them contacting us first, we'd be up to 2230 right now.

^ Nothing wrong with being a loner. I've worked with the same five people for almost a year, and I still haven't managed to ask all of them to sign....
However, I wandered around the main street today, and got a few more:
Makaylie Brazel Casey Cumming Pamela Warren Michelle Brown Jennifer Costigan

Maybe it was a recording for the archives like the one that was done for the Princess Theatre in early 2008(makes mental note to get job in the archives department)

Does anyone have any ideas about this?! I was intrigued, so gave up working for a bit (who needs to work, bah ;D and I was bored anyway, Khazakstan anyone?) to find out the answer. The result was I discovered this very interesting list of all the "known" recordings of POTO, including what would appear to be the one mentioned in that link (although it only mentions the production's start date, not the actual recording date). It's interesting, because according to my research, Anthony's first official opening night was December 8th 1990, and he left the original Melbourne production in late November/early December of 1991. Rob Guest is listed as taking over in December 1991 so perhaps it was someone wanting to keep Anthony's version for posterity? I wonder if someone from the company took a copy of the official "soundboard" recording - the chap who wrote that link seems to be a sound engineer ;D the way he differentiates between what he thinks are the company's recordings, and those that ... are not ;D Some of the recordings are apparently very clear, right down to breathing, clinking of beads on dresses, even Phantom kisses. How do people get away with it without getting caught - it must be blatantly obvious to the people around them, surely? At the very bottom of that link (it's a long, long list!) is a note of all the official recordings (surprisingly, quite a few!). I'm intrigued as to how this person knows of all of these recordings and their audio quality. It would indicate they have them all or have at least heard them, which takes Phanaticism to a whole new level (well, for me anyway!).

That's a very long list of bootlegs. You'd think ALW would be glad to get official recordings - at least that way he'd get money for what everyone's listening to anyway.
