They will be doing a media call in Sydney tomorrow.
Can't wait to see it!

I might just do that. But I don't think he has any say in where the tours stop. That I believe, is decided by the banks. They might already have a NZ stop planned, is there a website for information? Or is it a bit early?

So far there isn't much info out about the show, just the rumour articles and things like this. I suspect we'll have something out by this afternoon. He said they'll be starting in February ((rehearsals, I think)) and that there's a possibility it could travel to Adelaide, so it might even make NZ. And in the meantime, I've made a headstart on a fan page. It needs more constructing and I might change the focus of the page to getting a recording a bit later, depending on what happens. For now, it's a fan page.

Mazza, that's the article I just posted I would love to spend New Years in Sydney watching Annie instead of sitting home doing squat because the TV fireworks bore us with their yapping and the fireworks around here aren't that impressive. I don't think it's going to happen though; we spent far too much this weekend and we really need to save money so we can move closer to the action. "So that's an I'd love to, but can't." And yes, we definitely agree. This is one Fred's very excited about so I want to get her to see it multiple times. We just REALLY need to save up

Sorry about that didn't check all the previous links still the picture is worth a second or even third look.
From the sounds of things there is going to be a long run in Melbourne so perhaps we could see it there. I don't think Annie is my husbands favourite so I'm sure I will be able to sort out going without him. I'm really hoping we will get it in Adelaide and then I could go at least once a week. I could even get an overdose of Warlow. Is that possible? I suspect not. Do we have an entry in the Warlovian Dictionary for that?

There's a few, I think. At least I'm certain there are, but I can't remember which ones they are off the top of my head. Some of the ones in that pop up in the flashing News header onthe home page might be it. I need to add a new word to that dictionary so I'll take a look while I'm doing so.
EDIT: Just noticed that the FB page I've made is currently unavailable. Could it be I've upset the people in charge for jumping the gun?

New Years Eve in Sydney - who could afford that? I wanted to have New Years Eve in Sydney last year to see Jersey Boys but the cost of the flights, and the totally exorbitant cost of the hotel rooms put me off. The hotels almost tripled in price per night. There was just no way I could afford it.
And could I add that I most certainly hope that Star City has got their act together and finished all the alterations by December. I went to see the Music of Andrew Llloyd Webber there last month and it was really scary - there was only one way to get to the theatre, everyone was milling around and couldn't find where to go to upstairs seats - there was nowhere to stand and they wouldn't let anyone into the theatre and it was a nightmare. At the end of the show there was only one way out to the street down a flight of circular stairs and it was really scary again as everyone was pushing trying to get down.
So does Anthony doing Annie mean that Dr Zhivago is not going to Broadway?

Well having just convinced my husband that I should go to Brisbane to see DRZ, I think I better ease off on New Years Eve, Don't want to push my luck. I heard that they were doing children’s auditions in Brisbane for Annie.
I know what you mean about Star City. We went in February the exit staircase is a nightmare. I felt quite scared and it took so long to get out. I don’t know how they get away with fire regulations with only one exit. They must have other fire exits they should consider using them to get people out quicker.
What did you think of the Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber? I thought it was a good show. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t include some of the songs from The Beautiful Game, I know it hasn’t played here but there are some really good ones included on the CD that they sell at the concert.

Mazza - I loved The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. I had seen it about 3 weeks previously here in Wellington but was seated right at the back of the theatre and couldn't see a thing, so I decided to see it again in Sydney on an afternoon when there wasn't a Jersey Boys matinee. Have to be honest and say that probably about 30% of the songs I hadn't heard before but still thoroughly enjoyed the show. Loved the three men doing No Matter What - one of my favourite songs. I hardly recognised the outside of the theatre when I got there - things have changed so much, I wonder what it will be like if it ever gets finished. If it was like that in February and still the same in May it must be a huge renovation they are undertaking. I also thought that there were huge risks with only one exit. Wouldn't have thought it would be allowed actually.

She knows, trust me. She was bouncing for the rest of the night after Ant told us, and I don't think she's stopped since. About Zhivago, maybe it's not. But then again, it might do what Phantom did and move on without him, then it'll probably be recorded by an American cast and called the Original Cast.

Injeanious Must admit I did know most of the song (isn't that sad) I have quite a collection of ALW. I don't know if anyone has seen this but the quiz is who's the fat man? www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDebiGIXQxAThe answer is at the end of this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGysoGQxde8&feature=relatedMar I know what you mean I get so angry that producers just take the money and run. From what's being said it looks like they just wanted to make as much money from the CD as possible even if it was at the expense of the cast. When they couldn't get their own way they took the ball home so no one could play. Who made the show a success for them (The cast and the public) Who's not getting their just rewards (the cast and the public) Sorry I'll get off the soapbox now. Must go for a lie down after that little rant!

HOLD THE PHONE! I might be able to see Annie in Australia! We were originally planning to go to America in April next year, to visit my Dads brother, but we've come to realise we can't afford it. I suggested we go to Australia instead, and my parents are seriously considering it cause we'll be able to afford it. I then mentioned Annie, and my mum says I could probably go if we're in the right place at the right time. The school holidays go from April 5th-23rd of April. From looking at the Annie website it looks like those dates are during the Brisbane run. Which poses a slight problem- Dad's family live in Ballarat, so we're probably gonna fly into Melbourne. Although the Gold Coast theme parks are a Kiwi institution... so if we head up there it puts me in the vicinity of Brisbane. Hmmmmm..... Well, right now I'm just gonna cross my fingers and save.

So does Anthony doing Annie mean that Dr Zhivago is not going to Broadway? @ Inj - I read somewhere that he is contracted to Dr Zhivago for five years, which means he will be taking DZ to Broadway and London but unsure so far as to when that will be - after his commitments here I believe. There's also this interview with Antoinette Halloran from ABC Art Nation: www.abc.net.au/arts/stories/s3175606.htmAt the 5.27 mark it has: Antoinette: Now you've given five years of your life to this production or to the ongoing nature of this production ... Anthony: Well I think, you know, if this production is going to be part of an international arena, then I want to be part of it and I've been asked to be part of it, which is a blessing in itself ... Hope this helps a bit... Oh, and hope you do get over here for Annie! Much better in Oz than the US - although I'm sitting overlooking Waikiki Beach at the moment - so better be careful what I say!! Ooops - that last comment on my last post should have been @ Tori - sorry! NOTE: Altered by Admin

Yeah, I really hope I can. It'd be great. I'm like the only one in my school (well, not quite) that hasn't been to Australia, even though I'm 1/4 Aussie myself.
Also Jemma, instead of double posting, you can click 'Modify' in the top right hand corner of your post to edit it rather than double post. I don't think it's as much of an issue right now, but back when there were alot more people active here Mar threatened me with a ban after I accidentally double posted three times. XD
