I thought it might be fun to create our own ideal Anthony Warlow collection of CDs. We will have different categories and each person can add a song to each different category that they would love to hear Anthony sing.
For example, there could be a Rock CD, a Country CD a Disney themed CD...
What do you think?
Disney CD
1. A Whole New World 2. Be Our Guest 3. I'll Make a Man Out of You 4. Kiss the Girl 5. Colours of the Wind 6 Can You Feel The Love Tonight
50s/60s CD
1. Can't Take My Eyes Off You 2. Beyond the Sea
Jazz CD
1. Minnie the Moocher 2. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
Opera CD
1. Soave sia il vento 2. O Sole Mio
Country CD
1. Ghost Riders in the Sky
Rock CD
1. Smells Like Teen Spirit 2. Wanted Dead or Alive 3. Tribute

A Disney-themed one would be fun! I can imagine him singing A Whole New World from Aladdin. Maybe Lucy Maunder could sing Princess Jasmine's lines. Does anyone else see this or am I alone in my madness?

Yeah, he would be great singing that. And he and Lucy do sound beautiful together.
Is that your final answer?

So each person can add only one song to each category? That's a pretty cool idea. Although I do wonder what Anthony would think about us handing him a list of wants for a Rock CD.

Well we need to cover all bases!
I think limiting it to one will make it harder, for the easy genres anyway!

That makes sense - plus if we just think of all the ones we want ... a CD with a hundred tracks could be awkward!

My inner me is jumping up and down with glee.
...
I didn't mean to rhyme.
Unfortunately, picking one song from each catagory is going to be hard.
I think I'm going to have to come back to this.

Um... so many conflicting emotions. He'd also be good at Cruella De Vil but it's short and I want my Warlow's worth. Be Prepared is also a fave but I'm not sure his voice is right for it. Gaston would be hilarious but also not sure about the voice...
I will stick with my original choice because I'm sure that would be perfect for him.

^ I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan would be pretty awesome too.

Aw, I was going to say Be Prepared. But ... you're right. Not quite right for Warlow.
BTW:
In trying to think of a Disney song, Fred suggested from The Muppets: Am I a Man or a Muppet?
I choked.
Here's another thought:
Kiss The Girl.

I still don't know why you were spluttering about it so much. I want to hear him sing the line "And if I'm a Muppet, I'm a very manly Muppet". I'm sure it would be awesome.

Kiss the Girl would be interesting. The accent.

For Be Prepared, just think Hyde! I thought maybe The Bare Necessities from Jungle Book. But I would love him to do an accent... so Be Our Guest would be funny. Hm... decisions, decisions... Be Our Guest it is! A Disney-themed one would be fun! I can imagine him singing A Whole New World from Aladdin. Maybe Lucy Maunder could sing Princess Jasmine's lines. Does anyone else see this or am I alone in my madness? That photo of Anthony dressed up as Lawrence of Arabia comes to mind... It definitely was an interesting look for him! XD

I did think of the Hyde voice for Be Prepared ... Damn my doubting. "Ennnnnnnnchannnnnnnnnnnteeeeeeee." I'm having the same problem as before, where I think other songs would be fantastic for him to do, and I want to suggest them all.

It is a bit of a challenge. If not many people suggest things, we can do more.

How about a 60's CD and he could sing my absolute favourite song from Jersey Boys - You're Just Too Good To Be True (originally sung by Frankie Valli).

Inj, I can hear him singing that in my head and I have the biggest smile on my face!
I'd like him to sing "Colours of the Wind" from Pocahontas! I have always had this little stage fantasy that I am playing the role of Pocahontas and he is John Smith! :/

Pity about the whole gender thing, or I'd suggest Mother Knows Best.

I know Mar...... but I think he could work his magic!
What about Friend like me from Aladdin! I love that song.

Could he modify it to 'Father Knows Best'? Or would that just be corny and weird?
And I still can't decide between Man or a Muppet and I'll Make a Man Out of You.
Choices, choices.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Friend Like Me! Actually, that might go really well with his voice.
I can hear that.
Oh, I also thought of two others I'd like to hear him do, which ... really isn't fair. I'm no good at picking just one.
Especially since I love "Not in Nottingham". And he could very well do a good "Golly, What a Day".

That was my favourite part of Jersey Boys. I got goosebumps when it started and the audience was cheering so much. It was awesome. Beyond the Sea would be my pick for the 60s album. Love that song! Mack the Knife would also be good.

Beyond the Sea - what a wonderful song - I just love it (and Mack the Knife) in fact just about anything that Bobby Darrin sung. Off topic again but has anyone heard if Dream Lover (I think that is the title) has been cast yet or any word of when it will start in Australia?

Dream Lover?
I don't know enough songs from the 60's. I think I'll need to go on a research mission. And I still need to make up my mind for a Disney one...
Hey, Jazz CD? I pick Minnie the Moocher!
