I can't agree more. I've been long hoping he would record a Christmas album. All those musical stars do that, why doesn't he?? His voice is simply divine for Christmas carols, and he can balance the style between classical and pop, which makes those carols more appealing to hear.

He does? Where??
I was suppposed to ask one of the technician guys at Carols this last year ((lol)) if he could give me an audio copy of Anthony Warlow singing O Holy Night - he played it in 2005 after the performance ((when people were leaving)) and I can't believe I forgot to ask for a copy!
But yes he simpley MUST. The only actual Christmasy songs I have on CD are David Bowie's and Bing Crosbey's rendition of Peace on Earth / Drummer Boy, and the Mary's Boy Child / O My Lord recording from Boney M. I NEED MORE CHRISTMAS SONGS.

Yeah, he does. You can download O Holy Night on his official site.
When you enter the site, you can see a rotating disc icon on the top of the left, click it and you will enter a site where locates several audio clips including the complete O holy night. I know a lot of people missed it. :-)

OMG OMG OMG!!! *DIES* How do you download it from that? I remember I downloaded Once in a While ((Barry Bostwick)) when that kind of audio player came up once, but I've forgotten how. Eeep! I want it I want it!
And the extra pics the site uses but hasn't put in their gallery *grr*

You can't download it?? I've no idea. Right-click the play icon and choose "save as...", I think that will do. Or try the following link: www.anthonywarlow.com/musicMP3/OhHolyNight.mp3About other pics, I've no idea. His website hasn't been updated for nearly a year. :-(

I tried that, but it says I don't have quick time, but I do. Ah. It's not a registered copy; it just downloaded when I got my mp3 programs I think. I don't have QuickTime 7
I know; I'm just jealous at the pics used in the flash opening that I can't get my hands on

"Three Kings" is always a good one; we do that in choir with just a handful of "soloists." Darrin does the lead, the part that Warlow could do, and we have paired bases, tenors, altos and sopranos backing up. Really simple one though ((at least for the lead )). Ooh, maybe he could do a Bowie and Crosby and team up with, maybe, Hobson and they could do Peace on Earth / Little Drummer Boy XD *dies laughing* BTW, if anyone could send me O Holy Night I'd really like it; Quicktime is a bitch to me ((I've only got version 7.0.4, which came with mum's iPod))

*chokesplutter* AH HA! AH HA! - * myes ...* No, the [town] community choir is mainly consisted of the elderly population of the town ((I joined when I was 13, was the youngest member up until two years ago, or something like that)) and we sing at Carols by Candlelight and Nine Lessons and Carols each year - just Christmas time events. We do chuck in some non-Christmas songs in there too, like Light One Candle, Lennon's Feed the World and so forth. Now and again a handful of us get asked to do a minor performance somewhere, like at a church picnic ((that got rained out - HALLELUJAH!)) or at the launches for Music on the Murray; then there's Music on the Murray itself where we sing a variety of songs; some gospel, some classical, some Jazz, some musical, stuff like that. For example, Va pensiero (( Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves)), Yes, Sir, That's My Baby, the Hallelujah chorus, I Dreamed a Dream ((from Les Miz)), the Phantom of the Opera Medaly, and so forth. No Jekyll and Hyde as of yet, but I'm hoping to sneak that into the program in the future. We've gotten local artists to join in, people from the Adelaide Opera Company, and this year one of our special guests will be Pot-Pourri. To see more on Music on the Murray, click here. ... I have the right to promote. gnah come and get me stalkersAnd this is what happens when you ask me a question on the net. I RAMBLE. Ask me to my face and I won't say a thing.

Glad you liked them. I realized that I should have uploaded in the audio section as soon as I hit "post reply", and then I couldn't take it back or move it *hits own forehead*
To get back on the topic, I've tried to imagine Ant singing "When A Child Is Born". His soaring notes will be perfect with the lovely melody and lyrics of that song. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it...

Also, I remember he has sung White Christmas on TV, according to his fansite 'Midnight Dreaming' (*sigh* Why did it have to close too?...). It's not a great number to show off his gorgeous soaring notes but I'd love to hear him sing in that crooning lazy mood.

Ah, yes, I love the crooner in him, too. I wonder if some lucky gal has managed to record that ...
I'd love him to do "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas". And "Silent Night"- maybe he could sing that in the original German, "Stille Nacht". We sing that in our choir, first in English, then in German- German is such a lovely and romantic language to sing in *sigh*
Now, an Ant Christmas album full of traditional Christmas carols, that would be just lovely.

We sang Stille Nacht too. Unfortunately for the past four years a Christian band has been playing with us on Carols by Candlelight; it took us three years of arguing until we were finally able to sing Silent Night WITHOUT DRUMS ((so annoying))

That is annoying. There's a reason for the "Silent" in the title *whip* . We're a purely a capella group, so we sing it as silently as we can (and have the audience straining to hear us). It would be just awesome were we to sing back-up for Ant and do something like Silent Night... more dreams, haha

Last year a few of us agreed that if the drums started playing in Silent Night we'd just get up and walk out. Well, the drums didn't play, which is one good thing, but I don't mind a spectacle.
We're supposed to be a'capella too, but the stupid Loxton council thought it would be a good idea to chuck in a crap band with the Waikerie Choir for that event. Thankfully we've also got our own Christmas event ((9 Lessons and Carols)) that we sing without accompaniment ((except last year' when I did the solo Silent Night against a ... a ... I can't remember what it was but it was a lovely strong instrument you hit with tiny ... umm ... sticks)).
Someday. Someday. And maybe we can drag him down the river Murray to join us for Music on the Murray someday. If he happens to fall overboard, I'll jump in and save him. ;D

That would be the glockenspiel, I think. I sang O Holy Night in our church a few years back. It was a Christmas early morning mass- 4am, waaay too early. Anyways, it had a high F# at the climax because it was arranged to be sung by a baritone, and I was so annoyed because that's the start of my passagio..uhm.. where my voice starts to shift. Christmas is such a big deal for singers, and we sing the same songs over and over again for a couple of months.
I've thought of another one- "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear". Oh, and "The Holy City", but wait, that's for Lent. I have a David Hobson version, but I think Anthony's baritone would give it a very interesting depth.

I have a David Hobson version, but I think Anthony's baritone would give it a very interesting depth. Cut the second verse of The Holy City and it's perfect for Christmas - David Hobson has been singing it at the Sydney and Melbourne Carols events for years. Last year's Carols in the Domain performance is on YouTube and proving very popular, along with O Holy Night.

That's the one problem with watching the Melbourne footage each year; David continues with The Holy City and it feels like you're watching a reply.
((It's not a glockenspiel, most definitely; it's one of those instruments you don't commonly hear about. It's strings that are hit, not plates. I think it starts with a B. I'll ask tomorrow night when I go to rehearsals.))
Ooh I've sung It Came Upon a Midnight Clear with the choir. That'd be nice.
OMG my mind: Lennon's Feed the World. Imagine that as a Warlow remake, along with other artists. Who can we chuck in? David Hobson? Philip Quast? John Diedrich? Susan Johnston? Taryn Fiebig? Lol I'm so making a game out of this. Ignore me, I've been singing. XD

That's the one problem with watching the Melbourne footage each year; David continues with The Holy City and it feels like you're watching a reply. But no two performances of David's are exactly alike (a problem when an opera production is filmed over a couple of nights - he's a continuity nightmare!) and these days he sings his own arrangement, which has updated the traditional version a bit. (As well as doing it in Christmas concerts he's now had to programme it at other times too, because he gets requests for it all year round.)

A bit like a theme song for him, then. Like This is the Moment is to Anthony Warlow. Still, although it's good to watch the footage to hear him and all the others, I do get a bit twitchy when Daryl Sommers gets up to sing. No wonder I had a fear of baritones for the longest time!! And he's not even a real baritone!!
...
Where were we? Ooh, I know, he could do some songs from Rent. They mention Christmas XD *thud* ((stupid weather))
