Kylie hope you feel better and make it to Adelaide, if it helps any Claire and I are going through the same troubles... exactly! Bloody husband had given me a cold that he's had for 2 weeks... I told him he's given me pig flu and they won't let me on the plane now! And Claire didn't get the payment from K Rudd that we had hoped she would get, so consequently we are broke too. Every time she checked the Gov. website and put in her details the damn thing said she would get the 'Krud Money' (as my son calls it), then yesterday she checked and they have updated the bloody website and now it says she's not entitled to the payment! I hope you can make it there Kylie, we are definitely going... we just have no money for food or fun!

Oh deary, i'm sorry everybody. Kylie, i hope you feel better asap - work, antibiotics, work! And Jazz, give Claire some cuddles for me; the Kev money seems to change it's mind every week. And now, with what you say about Claire missing out, i'm thinking my sis will too, which means an additionally grumping Manda storming through the house this week.... On the upside, i am vowing to pay for all our food during LADS, so there!

^ I did tell you Claire and I have gone to a Glutin Free diet didn't I? So since we can't eat much of anything we won't cost much! Gotta find lots of free thing to do in Adelaide, hope Mar's got some ideas for us.

Oh Poppy - really? Where were you sitting? How comfortable are the plastic seats? Lynne the plastic seats are padded, so it's a very minute upside. Most of the people that were sitting in the stalls had asked (at intermission) if they could sit somewhere else where they didn't have to strain their necks! I have a throat infection and I can't swallow anything not even spit. OUCH!

Stupid pig flu!
We had a slight situation at the Ambassador Hotel, as it was suspected that one of the tenants on our floor had swine flu. Only late this afternoon was he given the all clear . . . . very big sigh of relief, believe me!

I never intend to fly with Tiger again......all they cause is trouble. So call cheap flights end up costing a fortune. Still can't understand after buying 15kg luggage allowance how I get charged for $25 for excess luggage when the single bag payed to checked in weighted only 8kg. And nearly missed my flight home.....they brought it forward by an hour without telling me and closing check in but then it boarded late by 45minutes. Just never again......rather pay extra for original ticket with another airline and save all the hassle with that company.

@ Bonnie - I don't blame you . . . I've heard so many horror stories about Tiger F G Airways (as it's 'fondly' known as on here!) I stick with Virgin Blue, havenn't had much trouble with them. The delay out of Melbourne was due to pea-soup fog (out of their control) and was delayed an hour out of Adelaide, I was told rolling delay from earlier in the day, and my feeling is that is was the plane that blew a tyre in Brisbane late yesterday afternoon . . . @jazz - Asthma is a real pain in the backside, but I don't have it as severely as what you do. The neb is always on standby though, especially if I end up with a bout of bronchitis. Hope your better soon . . . it's the season for colds and flus though . . . . so stay safe (and that goes for everyone!)

Apparently it has the potential to sweep through Adelaide in the next 48hrs... :S Although a week of "quarantine"/holidays would be real handy
I'm a tad spooked by it now, someone that a heap of my friends were close to died of meningococcol the other day, sooo yes... obviously it's an entirely different virus, but still :S not so jokey any more when I say please don't die!
~edit(as in it's got the potential to infect everyone in adelaide in 48 hrs... lol yeeep it's here, i had a friend in quarantine and school nearly got shut down last week)

It's already in Adelaide- I kept joking that it was Unwinding, Josh, Jess and I that bought it over, as we're often in the suburbs of Melb where it currently is.
Although I'm all better now after coming over VERY sick Sun/Mon/Tues!

@jazz - I'm sorry your asthma's still playing up. I hope the nebuliser helps you.
I went to my neurologist today, all confident that he'd take me off my tablets because I've been taking them for well over six months and they've done bugger all, and even my GP thinks it's time to stop them. However, instead of being free of them, I've now been given a prescription for another. So now I get to take six tablets a day, which I realise isn't a lot for some people.... but considering that until a year ago I wouldn't even take a panadol for a headache. DAMN!
I'm really hoping that these work, as apparently the next step will be botox injections. I fail to comprehend how that's going to help. I'm thinking that when it reaches the next step I might look around and find a second opinion. Or maybe give up altogether. It's just taking too much time, effort and money.

Everyone seems to be ill at the moment; all round. We've been hearing about that meningococcol case; weren't they saying that more people could be at risk from it? Plus there's all that meat that got retracted from stores because fears of another outbreak of something from a company that had an outbreak of the same thing several years' ago ... Fred, if it's not something to help with what you've got then it's one of those ease-off tablets I mentioned; although 6 a day sounds like it's more serious than an ease-off.

Nah, it's not an ease-off tablet. It's as well as the tablets I was already taking. So he's really just upped the dose. I have to go see him again in a month, and if they haven't done anything I will say I don't want to take them anymore! Admittedly, I was going to do that this time, but doctor's tend to intimidate me, and I seem to lose all free will.

I get intimidated easily too Fred, don't feel bad! I was very proud of myself for standing up to my hairdresser today actually - they did a crap job on my hair and when I went back she was like 'oops, I don't know why that happened. I promise it won't happen again! I'll just fix it right now, it will work this time!' I asked how she could know that it would work this time, as opposed to simply wrecking my hair, and her response was 'Um..........It will work this time'. Right, like it should have worked the first time?!? Grrr. If she didn't know what went wrong how could she know it wouldn't happen again? Anyhoo, got a partial refund, which I am okay about. She could have told me to bugger off, which I think she was tempted to do by her attitude! Won't be going back there again, thank you very much Miss Crappy Hairdresser. Okay, rant over. Hope everyone is feeling better a.s.a.p!
