I have been reading about the terrible fires in NSW and feel so sorry for all who have lost houses and possessions. Our weather seems to be at such extremes. You in Australia haven't had much rain over the winter, we have had what seemed like never ending rain. Last week we had torrential rain and winds up to 170 kmph.

Ooh, sorry I never saw this post, Inj! Didn't mean to ignore you! It was a very odd winter... it never really got super cold and didn't have much in the way of rain. Winter before last, I used to wear a jumper under a jacket to keep myself warm while walking Blossie... last winter, I just wore jumpers and was plenty warm enough. And I love the cold weather!  Sorry that you've been getting all the rain and storms. Has that dropped back now we're all the way into summer? |

For those who didn't get my txt and haven't seen my FB status, I have news about Phantom: The show's off. From what the e-mail suggested, it seems some people declined to be chorus members, which reduced our numbers drastically. It was threatened that if there weren't enough people involved ((particularly from the male half of the auditionees)) then it wouldn't be feesible to put on the show. So my stint in The Phantom of the Opera was over long before it began. Thank you to everyone who supported me through the harrowing ups and downs of whether or not I should audition, followed by after-audition anxieties. It means a lot to me.  |

Next time! It looks like they put something on every year... if you got into the chorus this year, when you've had two years off, I'm sure you'll get into the next one!

So, it's been an incredibly long time since I came here... it looks like everyone else is in the same boat though. Going to try to come here slightly more often, see if we can kickstart it again!
Anyway, I came to the Hyde thread because of why I dropped away so thoroughly for so long... my dad died last year. Very suddenly, completely unexpectedly, and a long way from home. It was pretty awful.
It stayed awful for a long time... still is, really, but I can kind of think again. I was in auto-mode for a long while there.
And then, a few months later, one of my cats got very sick and we had an eight week (and far too much money) struggle to keep him alive. Feeding tubes and piles of medications and all that sort of fun stuff.
So, yeah, it was a bad year. This year has been better, so I have no valid excuse for the fact that it's September and my first post of the year. Sorry, chaps! I'll try to be around more often, hopefully I'll see others on the way through.
