Oops, sorry. I was coming around on occasion for quite awhile but at the moment, the only internet access I have involves an internet café around the corner from where I work. There should be internet at home, but it seems a vital cord for turning the computer on has disappeared in the move.
I'm glad your house is okay! It's scary when odd things happen when you're all alone... at east, I'm more scared of things when I'm by myself. Were there kids in the school when the roof blew off?

That's good Inj, was everyone safe?
Sorry I haven't been here in a while, I haven't given up on US, it's just that finding the Internet has been a bit hard lately; I've moved to the city and was job hunting up until last Friday, so I haven't been able to get to the net much and when I could a lot of the times proboards forums wouldn't load. Hoping to have home access to the net soon, but can't really say when.
I can't stay long, I hope everyone's all right. I'll be back as soon as I've got full access to the net.

Luckily(?) the roof blew off the school at about 4.30 pm when most of the kids had gone home. There could have been major injuries if it had been earlier, as the iron was blasted down onto the drive where the kids all walk to get from the school to the main road.
Glad to see you two are still around. Hope you have found a good job Marie-Cris.

Cripes! Lucky that there were no squished kids!
The unit connected to mine had it's roof blown off last year. It started to blow off mine too, but stopped. I came home from lunch about five minutes after it happened and there was practically no wind. Apparently there was just a freak gust....

I can't get to sleep! This sucks! It's been like this for like, the past month! It's just not good for me to only get 3 or 4 hours of sleep every day and then pass out for 14-16 hours on the weekends! Grrr... Any advice? I'm tired of taking sleeping pills...

Hot Milo ((or just hot chocolate)) before bed, or valerian?
(And Fred barges in to briefly steal the keyboard - speaking as someone who has always been really bad at getting to sleep.... try tensing all of your muscles and then relax them, just as you are trying to get to sleep. You can do it muscle by muscle, and it helps your mind shut down or something... not sure if that makes sense, but it's one of my Mum's failsafe things. Or go for a run during the day. Enough to get tired, but don't exhaust yourself. You want to keep functioning during the day, not keep falling asleep because you've got no energy yet..... and now my brain is dead, and I'm doing too many typos, so I'm going to bed and returning this post to it's rightful owner. Ciao.)
... what she said.

Grrrr!!!!! Why are all the cheap fares to Sydney and Melbourne from Auckland or Christchurch - never Wellington. I am keeping an eye on fares to Sydney at Labour weekend to see Jersey Boys - but all the cheap seats are from Auckland or Christchurch, and to fly from Wellington is $150 more!!! Gets really annoying sometimes.

Lynne, how many times have you seen that show now?
I actually saw Fame last week and the best parts about it was some of the dance routines and the end, when they actually sang "Fame" , oh and Darlene Love (from Lethal Weapon )was fabulous. What a voice!!!

Ummmmm - 17. Another 4 times end of next week. I think that if I have to pay out quite large amounts of money to get from Wgtn to Melbourne I might as well make the most of the trip and see it as often as I can.
Are you going to see Hairspray Poppy? I see they are advertising it very heavily. It doesn't interest me.

Very very quiet Poppy. Shame really, because I often think of all the people who never log in any more and wonder what they are doing.
Well when I woke up this morning it was 3 degrees in Wellington, and I am sure it was only 1 in Karori because we are so much higher up than where they take the temperatures. It's not much warmer now.

I'm so sorry! I have been meaning to log in, but it hasn't happened. Mainly because I was given the complete series of Fraggle Rock, so for quite some time our evenings have been spent watching Fraggles. But also there's been issues about two people wanting to use the internet and there's only been one computer available. That problem has been fixed, however, so I should be able to drop in more often.

No, it IS very upsetting to see lack of activity in US-land these days.... and of course i'm more guilty than anyone else!! (although i'm not sure if i can blame Facebook in my case, unfortunately) I continually think 'GO ON US, TALK TO WARLOVIANS'.... and then it's like that horrible viscious circle of guilt, where you feel so bad for not having visited in ages, that you put if off out of fear, and then it keeps building... so so dam stupid, and i apologise sincerely, to everybody.
Meanwhile, i have sciatica, on top of my usual health trials, so i can't work at present. And no work equals no money equal Neh not going to see ALNM or WSS. *sob* Also, it's bloody cold. Who said it was allowed to cold in winter - what sort of messed up concept is that?!?!

Very upset last night. I was at the last show of Jersey Boys. We all know the small amount of space between the seats at the Princess Theatre don't we? Well at interval the man sitting next to me (very tall and very big) wanted to get out so I stood up and leant backwards as far as I could so he could get by. Someone in the row behind then hit my sore shoulder very hard (don't know if it was with an elbow or a bag or what). He/she would hit the bad shoulder, the one with the torn rotar cuff. Well, the pain was bad. I sat down, the pain was going down my arm, up into my neck and head and then my fingers started tingling. I sat there for a while but the pain was getting worse so I went back to the hotel. I missed out on the last half of the show and missed whatever special thing they had going at the end. I was so mad - the person who hit me didn't even apologise. Today the pain is still bad so I have to spend more $$$$ and go and see my physio. I sometimes think I keep him in business! I don't suppose anyone here saw the last show, or knows someone who did? I would love to know just what they did at the end.

My friends brother works back stage .....I'll see what I can find out for you! Hope the pain is not too bad for you now Lyn and to the person who hit should be ashamed for not seeing if you were ok! Some people are just RUDE!

Not quite the right thread after looping Ph-ANT-om repeatedly - Thank God for Youtube - but:
I've been struggling to get ahold of Ant's CDs - the legal kind *sweatdrop* - and do you know what? He's not exactly readily available for retail in Singapore. I had to stand in line for hours - or what felt like hours - wait while everyone made a purchase, only to inquire after a singer that, well, half the time the retailers haven't heard of, or whose cd isn't in stock, or have to put a deposit (I don't mind) plus shipping (I do mind - AU$55, is ridiculous.)
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET AHOLD OF HIS CDS?!!
Don't even get me started on my other favourite - Ciaran Sheehan. *HEADDESK*

I'm sorry it's late, but I hope you're feeling better now Inj! Has anyone filled you in on what happened? ((I would, but I haven't seen it)).
Hey Aurryinne, which of his are you looking for?
On a side note, I've killed yet another microwave. First I killed Fred's a few months ago, now I've killed the second-hand one my sister gave to me. As it is, we now have no microwave. Since we're on a tight budget we have to save up a fair while, which means we can't even afford the $49 microwaves we saw at Coles today. *sigh*

With our low budget, quite a while. Sad to say, I'm currently living off centrelink until I can secure a job in the city. So far it's been a long and unseccessful hunt.
