You know, I don't recall us ever having a Jekyll and Hyde thread that deals with the actual musical! For those of you who haven't heard the Jekyll and Hyde [Concept], here is where you can listen to a few of the tracks. Pity they don't let you listen to all of it because there really are some ripper tracks; one, of course, being This is the Moment. Obviously. Oh wait, there's a "listen to all" option. nvm me. Oh look, they've got The World Has Gone Insane up for a listen. XD Anyway, this is an absolutely must-have CD; I still don't have one, can you believe it?! It's that hard to track down in stores; impossible, really. Why haven't I bought one off Amazon yet? Unplayed copies just waiting to be bought! Gah! ... I went off track. Now I've forgotten what I was going to say. *shrug* EDIT: Just to make it clear, the above about not having the recording is no longer true. I've had it for a few months now but I never mentioned it on this thread ... ... just every other thread in the forum. XD

I've also got an ORIGINAL of the 1994 Concept Album release, and I did buy it around about then, too. . .
And kinda ambushed Anthony a few years later at the Show with Sarah Brightman, and got him to sign the J & H booklet! ;D

Hang on, do you mean The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber concert? He and Brightman sang in that, and that was in Singapore.

There was one here too, at the Arts Centre here in Melbourne.
I've got the program for it somewhere, I couldn't afford the concert, but I bought the program!!!
**Listening to "Board of Governors" at the moment. . .!** EDIT : link to Sarah Brightman site ALW Tour 1996 www.early-sarah-brightman.com/alw_tour_1996.htm

There were two versions of the Jekyll and Hyde concept soundtrack starring Anthony. One was an Australian released "Highlights" edition which was one CD and the other was a two CD version with booklet that was actually US release but they sold it here. The CDs are still around. Actually saw the 2 CD version yesterday at JB HI Fi. I am envious Kylie of having your booklet signed and the program for The Music of ALW. I was fortunate to go to the concert but did not have funds to get a program. Keeps scouting the second hand book shops but haven't found one in the past 12 years.

They sell it at your JB HIFI? I'm jealous. Totally, utterly jealous. All they've got at the one in Rundle Mall is Centre Stage.
...
Adelaide is not the place to go to when hunting down Anthony Warlow CDs. *sigh*
The Highlights copy was actually the one that my teacher lent me in high school to finish my drama project; it doesn't have tracks like Board of Governors, Lucy Meets Hyde, Reflections and all sorts, but there's still excellent choices in there. I think the only time you hear Sir Danvers at all on the Highlights is during the Wedding ... yeah.

Yeh, my JB has it but it's by order, bless them... they try! It's honestly hilarious how behind we are over here in terms of carrying B'way material...

Hi Marie Cris, There are two JBs in Melbourne city centre. If you get a chance check them out when you are here next week. One is in Bourke Street in the Village Cinema Centre, only a couple of blocks down from where the Princess Theatre is.

You could try Middle Eight Music in South Yarra too. Have got lots of things from Max. They have some really obscure stuff too. Directions to find them ar on their site but all you need to do is catch a train to South Yarra or a tram and you're pretty much there.

Middle 8 Music is actually where I got Midnight Dreaming, actually; I had gone to nearly every audio store in the city asking if they had it and they said it wasn't available in Australia, just in Tasmania. WTF? I think I've seen J&H on the site; either the price was too high at the time or I'm just hoping to actually hold it before I buy it ((which is probably why I haven't ordered it off Amazon)). I'll see if we can check those places out; thank you

Middle 8 Music is great but they don't have that version of Jekyll and Hyde in stock at the moment. Their website is great though. They have a page dedicated to Anthony, David Hobson and other Australian artists such as Philip Quast. Also heaps of soundtracks. www.middle8.com/mem/index.aspMaster, do you or any of our American members know of a program that was made which showed Anthony, Linda and the rest of the cast making the concept album. I believe it was filmed as a promotion tool for the CD and had been played on an US cable network (HBO?). This is one TV show I would love to see.

Just in relation to what Aunty Sandra said about Ant's skill in the growl department *which i acknowledge wholeheartedly* I just want to intervene with a random tribute to Ant's talent in rolling his R's aswell - everyone remember Granada at ME..... *Antasm coming on....* To get back to J&H, is it just me or does Ant look oh so lovely in his denim top in the booklet pics? They needed more images though... more images... ok, to put it fairly, i needed more images.... but he did look so pretty! And it brought back memories of early 90's fashions!

Do you know the world is divided into two types of people, those who can roll their "R's" and those who can't? It's similar to tongue curling. You either can or you can't. It's genetic. Luckily for me as a singer, I can. Yet another thing Ant & I have in common!!!!!

I couldn't do Rs when I was 13, but 7 years' later and I do them almost all the time ((particularly when I'm bored)); but I know what you mean with genetics; there's a guy I went to uni with who couldn't even do the little tongue pinch where you curl up the edges of your tongue as you poke it out so that there's a little hole showing ...
And the lip-smack "pop" like Donkey on Shrek 2; he can't do that either. He can't even seem to suck in his lips, he just overlaps when he tries.
Anyway ...
