Oh, Poppy - Well that's telling me!! Laughed very loudly when I saw your hidden message glaring back at me! And thanks for being so kind - we need him back for the 2nd weekend in July when an extra special friend and I are heading off to see him again! Thanks for the clip, too. I saw it just a little while ago on FB and was going to post it myself. Great interview - that man is soooo good looking! Mmm ... now to put the dreams to bed (And so relieved you aren't cranky with me - sometimes I can't help it and just get the urge to write...)

Not really cheap. I got front row on a Thurday night for $96. It is selling so well I don't think they will have cheap seats.

Saw Annie last week, was really good. Not an great singing musical, Julie and Anthony were amazing but they didn't get to sing much, Anthony said it was great for him because he got to act a lot more so it wasn't so strenuous. He wants to start doing straight acting and cut way back on singing...I was quietly going "NOOOO YOUR PRECIOUS VOICE". The kids dancing was great, so was Todd McKenney. Haha know what was awesome, because we went opening night, celebrates go, we were in premium seats behind Bert & Patty Newton and the directors for Annie.

Yay, I finally got to see Annie tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. So glad to see Anthony at his charming, playful best.
Sat in the front row and I swear he looked directly at me when he was singing "Something was missing" I am sure he meant me... lol.
So happy that Poppy had allowed him to come back and that they managed to get all that slobber off as he looked beautiful, all spick and span.
Noticed that they had a huge net between the front and the stage. Not sure if it is to protect the orchestra or just a safety net to stop Poppy from leaping onto the stage.
What nights are you going Jayko? Would love to meet Jema. If possible, let me know and I can see if I can pick up a ticket around the same time.
Now off to bed with visions of Anthony dancing in my head.

Yay, shakattack and scuffa - great show hey? (Ooops my old NZ inflectons have popped back to say hello.) Shakattack - opening night - how exciting for you! And I can't imagine seeing him on stage and not hearing that amazing voice. Quite sad trying to imagine it Scuffa - he probably was singing to you - couldn't help being drawn to your intense gaze! And I read in the paper that they put that net up as protection against a certain deranged fan! Something about her trying to spirit him away somewhere - it's more a precaution at this stage - but they're not taking any chances!! Seriously though, I would love to catch up with you on one of our nights. This site is so great, will be the third meet up with Warlovians to come out of it.

That would be awesome scuffa! We are going on the 12th and 13th of july. When I booked there were still seats next to us but they might be gone now. The front row on the sides were available too.
So glad everyone is enjoying the musical. I really loved it and the kids are adorable. Anthony is a fantastic actor but I really hope he doesn't cut bak too much on the singing! I guess he needs to preserve it as much as he can though.

Yes, rather mixed here too, though glad for him of course. This seems to be the website but no mention of Anthony so far - www.anniethemusical.com/. Opens in November.

Just saw the news. I'm happy for Anthony and they better treat him well over there. I suspect it serves as a segue for him into Dr Zhivago which is due to open on Broadway in 2014.

OMGOMGOMG!!!Seriously? I mean of course I'll be the most happy one if he does come to broadway, with Annie or whatever.
But I couldn't find more information anywhere else. Well, fingers crossed.
And I second gizelmo that perhaps the producers of Dr. Zhivago also want him to go and build his reputation beforehand for its 2014 broadway run.

Oh, the implications of Anthony heading to Broadway for Annie and Zhivago going over in 2014 didn't even cross my mind! *facepalm* That is super-exciting if the connection turns out to be true! I would definitely make my way over to the States for that.

Yes, I'm feeling the same - extremely excited and very proud for him - but I wonder how long it will be before he makes his way back here if they become as enamoured of him as we all are - which is a dumb question - of COURSE they will be! Thought I'd include the quote from Brisbane's "Sunday Mail" today which adds a bit more to the picture. "AUSSIE FOR BROADWAY Australia's greatest musical theatre star is about to be the toast of Broadway. Anthony Warlow has been cast to play Daddy Warbucks in the Broadway revival of "Annie", opening in November. It will not only signal Warlow's Broadway debut at 51 but is a huge recognition of his talents to be selected to play one of the biggest roles in musical theatre. The handful of Australians to have played Broadway include Barry Humphries, Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Caldwell and Geoffrey Rush. Broadway producers have long sought Warlow to star in shows including "The Phantom of the Opera", "Secret Garden" and "Jekyll and Hyde"." UPDATE: I just found this article as well: aussietheatre.com.au/news/warlow-to-make-broadway-debut-as-warbucks/So there you have it - pretty official - and all the best to him - but I'm not sure I like the thought of him being so far away!

Now that I've had time to process... only that Sunday Mail article has reported this so far (the Aussie Theatre article took the original Courier Mail one as the source). Somebody commented on the Aussie Theatre article that the Sunday Mail has got it wrong before so this is all making me concerned. Has anybody found any official word on this? Call me a sceptic but I want to hear a confirmation from Anthony's mouth!
I really hope it's true. Would be the perfect excuse to finally hit up Broadway! I'll just keep my fingers crossed in the meantime...

Looks like it's official: linklinkExcerpts: Warlow said in a statement, "I am delighted to finally make my Broadway debut at the great Palace Theatre and in the exciting new production of this wonderful musical. I look forward to working with the talented [director] James Lapine and his fantastic cast and creative team." "The news was initially reported in Brisbane's Courier Mail yesterday (June 2), with confirmation from the Broadway producers appearing at Playbill (June 3)."
