It's been an interesting day, hasn't it? Oh, and I wouldn't worry too much about people asking about accents; it gets rather funny after a while. I've had people ask me if I'm from England, America, Spain, Germany ((what?!)), Greece ((double what?!)) and New Zealand after they've heard me talk. The only time anyone's ever thought of me as Australian was when asking me if I was an Abbo, but that was to do with what I look like instead of what I sound like. ... Must be my nose. yeah i know its seems a bit late for a reply but anyways. haha, for some reason i found that quite funny! Now german, thats an interesting one. People just tell me i dont sound australian, or sometimes they ask me if im english, needles to say i get insulted! lol

I hope they phase out all plastic cards in stores. I know they supposedly make things easier, but they just make the entire transaction take longer and people get mad if their card gets denied- cash is good!
And back to the accents, I often get American, French, Swiss, Russian, and, at work on Friday, Romanian (?!?!)

I know I'm semi-Romanian from like 4 generations back, but my grandmother is the last with a slight accent. As far as I can tell my accent is purely Australian!

It's 36 degrees today! I was getting used to the days of 32 after that horrid week in the 40s.
Plus I have a doctor's appointment at 5:15. I hope it cools down in the next couple of hours.

Another day, another disagreement with my mother.... is a Phantom of the Opera snowglobe really unneccesary?

My question would be, "Is one enough?"

Or "can I afford the snowglobe AND the jewellery box?" That would be a no....

Decision has been made! I am buying the snowglobe on the 15th, come hell or high water!
The jewellery box is strange because you expect it to play Masquerade, like in the show, but then it plays "All I Ask of You".....let down!
I just got back from work, and I am NOT happy! Last week I checked my roster and wrote down my shifts in my diary, as I always do.
Today I'd been lounging around (it's holidays!) so to get to work was a bit of effort XD but I show up, go to find out which register I'm on, only to be asked "are you sure you're working tonight?" so I went and double checked my roster, only to find they'd done a new one, and removed my thursday night shift- without letting me know!
What makes it even worse is as I passed my regular register on my walk of shame, my friend was on it, complaining about how she'd been called at 7 o'clock this morning with a request to do the 5.30- 9 shift- MY shift!
So now I'm going second job hunting! Damn you Target *whip*

I wonder if I can buy one without letting mum know how much it costs ...
Probably not.
Sorry to hear about your work difficulties.

If you can shake your mother, dart into the merchandise store, purchase it and stash the box somewhere on your person, you're fine XD
I told mine how much it costs, hence the difficulty in trying to buy one!

The problem is, she has a tendency to find something selling no matter where it is, so if she catches me with one ...
Eh, I'll buy a bear on Tuesday when I'm with them and a globe on Wednesday when I'm alone

Brilliant strategy!!! You could always say that they were marked down because the show is nearing the end of its run or find a tiny imperfection on it and say it was cheaper because of that! XD

Oh we're a sneaky bunch XD Love the strategy sanderella! I should try that...
The teddy bears are so cute, I want to buy one for my cousin, but I know I'll end up keeping it for myself!

I'm a bit worried about having to drive to summer school each day for the next six or so weeks. I crashed my car in May of last year (three days after I got my restricted license, no less) and it has rather crushed my confidence ever since. Basically, I'm okay on open roads now, but having to drive around the city (well, Dunedin, which isn't that big) still makes me very nervous as that is where I crashed. I have driven several times since the crash, but I haven't felt comfortable in a car since, not even as the passenger (and especially not when my dad's driving).

damn, is there something you can do to make the car a bit more comfortable/relaxed? like playing some music or using air conditioning? Also it may just be one of those keep doing it and it gets better things, so having to drive often may be a good thing. well i hope all goes well for you.

I think it's just driving in general that makes me uncomfortable, rather than the car I'm in. But yeah, the more I do it, the easier it should be, I hope.

I was hit by a bus that pulled out as I was driving past, and the driver didn't even stop! He kept going and came back to the scene about half an hour later while I was still in hysterics. When I was on my Ls though, I was fine, probably because someone was there telling me what to do and stuff.

I'm sure you'll pull through; I'm still on my P1s and I have no idea if I'm going to be notified on when I can change or if I have to drive all way to the department in Berri ((a half hour' away)) and just ask someone. I feel free when driving; particularly since I let my Face the Music album be heard from here to the river ((I've become a hoon; something I thought I never would become XD))

It's weird, I can't concentrate properly on driving if I play music on the trip to Dunedin, but I'm fine on the way home again. I can have some crap radio station on but if it's my music then I get distracted driving there and not back. *confuzed*

Oh, same here, either musicals or the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks. Occasionally, it might be the Spice Girls or S Club 7 to be extra obnoxious ;D

I'm the kind of person that would drive around with a soundtrack blasting at full volume, and singing over the top of it XD
