I just had to spend 45 minutes on the phone to Telstra. I'm not even a customer of theirs anymore!

I hate the pay office when working for a big oragnization with thousands on their books, they stuff up your pay but seem to have the "golden rule" it is never their fault when they make mistakes, it's always yours. Pretty big mistake when they lose your time sheet and don't pay you for a month!!! Heard the classic excuse yesterday ......the girl employed for looking for lost things didn't have time to find it because she was too busy looking for other lost things first and now we can't find it. So I continue spending the time I'm suppose to be studying on hold hours at a time on the phone pestering them over the last two weeks (they won't see you in person), juggling finances to cover the automatic bill payments that are made out of my pay bank account. Hope they lift their game soon, because I am loosing my patience.

Oh dear, I feel ever so sorry for you, Bek. The shop is doing stocktake at the moment - fortunately, that's not part of my job - but the steady stream of complaining that comes from the shop front! And we'd have a hell of a lot less stock than you'd have to deal with. So, have a

Thanks for the hug Fred and I'll happily take that bullet Poppy.
The weird thing about stocktake is how much it makes you hate inanimate objects. One of my co-workers came back from a fierce battle with kids socks (socks are one of the most evil of foes when it comes to stocktake) and stated doggedly, "I will never wear socks again."
I just come home, lie on my bed and try not to think of anything numerical.

I remember back in my teenage years my friend and I used to help at stocktaking at the company where my dad worked. It was a wholesale firm that supplied small parts and tools to mechanics. Have you ever tried to count a huge box of washers, then one of small screws, then larger screws etc. That was bad. I think socks would be easy in comparison.

I can't work out why it is that I'm so useless at everything I do. It's starting to get a tad depressing.

Sorry all. Been extremely ill, (not swine flu, but it sure felt like it at times!) plus internet at home is down (unpaid bill) still unemployed, so Mikado is out of the question, unless it comes to Melbourne . . . will try to update you all as I can. Janne and Fred, I owe you both and I haven't / will not forget. LADS photos? Don't get me started . . . as I haven't started yet . . . Sheesh, can't type, fingers don't wanna work. Will try to catch up soon . . . new mobile number if anyone wants, text me on the old one, and I'll send you the new one . . . 2 phones, so annoying, will stop rambling now . . .

I'm sorry I've been on hiatus lately; there's not much going on in Warlow's world news-wise at the moment and we seem to have lost a great big chunk of members, whether because of the lack of news, conversations, or perhaps life is getting in the way ((as it has been for me)).
I hope that those of you who are still hanging around understand that we're going through a slow rift again, but things will pick up again once The Mikado gets underway, provided we can all pick up the new and left-over conversations.

It's ok Mar; everything goes through it's stages of activity and lull and i guess the world of the Warlovian is no exception!
What a frickin year. Another dear friend of mine died this morning. And well before his time. That's seems to be the f***ing pattern of the year. Sorry, i'm just so dam angry and upset.

I'm glad you've found your phone....
Meanwhile, I've done something quite daft. I rescued a cat. Like the dog I rescued earlier in the year, I have managed to do it outside ranger hours.... I took it (possibly 'her' but I truly don't know how you distinguish a female cat from a desexed male cat.....) to the vet's, where we established that she has a microchip, but isn't on their computer. Neither is it in the computer of the vet in the next town over. So I currently have a small black cat sitting in a wicker cat cage that I borrowed from the vet's, sitting in the middle of my lounge room floor. I'm somewhat concerned about letting her out because the one encounter she and my cat have had so far (through the door of said wicker cat cage) involved much hissing and spitting and fluffing of tails.
ARGH!!!!
