Myes, I finally watched it! Oh Goddess, I'm still in stitches! Now I know where the reference to the pink tights comes from ... what I wouldn't give to have been able to grip his leg, or have my legs gripped ... *fans self* ... Neat little dancer ((meow, baby!)).
Okay, okay, calm down Marie. *breathes* Now, to those who have seen the DVD and/or the performance live ((in which case I am utterly jealous)), here's where to talk about the production. Needless to say that Warlow was a fabulous Archibald Grosvenor, I also enjoyed Heather Begg as Lady Jane. Particularly at the end when she came up to Bunthorne (Dennis Olsen) from behind, said: "Cheer up!" and pat him on the back ...
...
I'm sorry, I just went through the movie again getting screen caps of him in those wonderful tights. Views? Opinions?

I can't get the video for now. Hopefully I could get his video in the near future...

Ah, myes. Meanwhile, here are the 171 screen caps from Patience I took; I couldn't get some of his facial expressions that I wanted to take because of my poor dvd player ((poor quality)), but this should do it, right? ((obsessed? Me? Whatever gave you that idea?))

I have (oh shame!) actually only seen the clips MariCris has posted on youtube. I'm trying to convince dad to buy me the dvd but as I am already getting the Tenor and Baritone cd for my birthday, I'm not sure. I might cajole my brother into it. He'll get me what I want. muahahaha. but I LOVE the clips on youtube. Especially the one with him and that other guy. Hilarious! I love their dancing!

The Patience clips were actually posted by someone else who directed me into how to copy clips and post them up; yes I love the dancing, he has fabulous footwork ((the little leg twirl that he does is evident in HMS too)). I'm considering putting up Prithee, Pretty Maiden, Prithee, Tell Me True, as that is his entrance ((though when Christine what's-her-face began to sing I kinda fell out of my seat in fear [oh, it's ALWAYS a Christine, isn't it?])). I might do that once I'm done with the Requests List

It's extremely worth it! I'm getting the G&S Box set soon so that'll mean I'l have two copies of Patince and HMS Pinafore / Trial By Jury ... Hmm. Maybe I can start doing Warlow conversions like I do for The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Labyrinth? I could probably lend it to a couple of people at Uni ... Hmm ... *ponders much*

I hear you on the conversions, Marie-Cris- I haven't seen my Patience DVD for around 2 months now (I need my tights fix ), it's been going around my Calisthenics club, with many of the girls requesting we add lovely puce coloured tights to the uniform!!

Oh, that made my day! That'd be rather interesting to see, although if I did end up seeing any performances I'm afraid I would be giggling through the whole thing. XD

It is quite interesting to see, especially when we found Romeo and Juliet costumes that seemed rather similar to Patience outfits- and I copped the tights...not too flattering XD

Tights are such a bitch to wear.
Then again, it's better than skimpy pants and tops that fall off whilst you're dancing ... *cough*

I believe his fall was not originally included in the script or the direction.
Ant had quite a unruffled and meaningful look on his face. ;DAnd I wonder if there could be any moment that he loses himself on stage......

Dennis Olsen's fall wasn't planned; but I bet it hurt ((and I should have asked him if it did!)). I'm curious to find out what will set him off into a good laugh ((the ones he shared were good and full, but quickly controlled)). I doubt he'll ever lose it on stage though.

First time I saw the DVD I was amazed at how professional the cast was about it- I mean, obviously they're all professional performers, but something like that would usually crack everyone up. It's good to know your national opera company has well discilined performers....except Suzanne Johnston XD

Don't know how many of you are familar with the kid's movie The Swan Princess, but I revisited it the other day and got the strongest Grosvenor vibes from Prince Derek- anyone else had that feeling or am I really cracking? XD

I think it's the hair, even though its a different colour...
Plus, if I had any technical ability whatsoever I'd do some screen captures from Patience and The Swan Princess, because there's a moment where Prince Derek looks up with a look of shock/surprise and it's a mirror image of the "reflect...reflect!" face.... in my mind, anyway XD

That's what I was thinking when you mentioned it! ((surprising the bits and pieces I remember of Swan Lake ... gawd the sequel was GHASTLY!!))

The sequels were horrendous... and now the original will never be the same...

I remember the 2nd one was on Channel 7 some time last year'; I had it on, listened to the start of one of the songs, and left it ((to come here, obviously)). Slapped on my music, went back half an hour' later AND THEY WERE STILL SINGING THE SAME SONG.
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

Probably a 'reprise'. They got pretty unoriginal so just kept reprising songs...
