If any of you need an Anthony fix while you await POTO in Adelaide... Although from memory, he doesn't sing in this.. then again, I'd happily listen to his speaking voice, if singing is out of the question (which it obviously was).

At the end, though, did he recite lines or sing them? All I remember is Richard Alexander ... well, I remember more, but Richard Alexander stood out for me that night.

I can't actually go to the shop - the closest ABC shop is about three hours away. I shop via ABC online, but that works.

Hmmm I went on a shopping spree today- I got a $130 handbag I'd been watching for $75!
Plus I get a nice bit of money next week so no feeling guilty for me.

There was a segment on Postcards tonight about The Phantom of the Opera at the EC, showing some of the behind the scenes mechanics during a sound check. Also had a brief interview with Ant in his dressing room saying the usual stuff, with the Red Death costume hanging behind him. Postcards doesn't put footage up on their website, unfortunately. Also, this was in yesterday's Advertiser: The Advertiser, 2nd May 2009 Phantom Goes Local

Saw the show last night and it was as fantastic as always. This was my 4th time seeing it...certainly different in the Entertainment Centre, compared to a theatre. They have a 2 big screens, one each side of the stage. I am mixed about how I felt about them...they could be a bit distracting but they allowed the entire audience to see the fine detail that you miss unless sitting right at the front. The facial expressions and contortions that the Phantom does are just amazing and make you feel for him even more. There didn't seem to be any glitches that i picked up...just the usual curtain getting caught at opening! Anthony was in great voice...with his chilling laugh and spine tingling notes... Even though I know how it ends it still feels so sad I think at LADS they should let the Phantom go off with Christine and live happily ever after!! So, had a great evening with my 14yo niece on her Birthday...glad we were dropped off and picked up so I didn't have to negotiate the carpark! Can't wait until LADS...anyone know where the stage door is?? xxx

Back from seeing the two Wednesday shows. Have love - hate relationship with the big screens and dislike the flat non tier stall seating. Chandelier is not over the audience at all, in fact the front row is about 3 to 4 metres away from the pit thats at floor level in front of the elevated stage. In fact chandelier appears to have different hydrolic system then elsewhere - think pully slide system used for the shoe ontop of the bus in Priscilla. The live feed for the screens is from about 4 different cameras - looks beautiful on film with the close ups. Very lucky for the matinee I saw Anna O'Byrne - the newish Christine understudy that started in Perth. She was wonderful - would never of picked her as being the understudy that never really goes on - very confident and powerful performance, much more so then the time I saw Sarah Baaker in the role. Not very impressed at people being able to take hot food into the auditorium - just doesnt seem right. Anthony in wonderful voice - I always find he sounds clearer and less tired vocally after the cast break between cities - the rest does well. Bonnie - who is now in Triple world Phantom figures
